daily regimen

When I go home each night after work, I hop in the shower, then shower when I wake up. So that makes two per day, sometimes three depending on the activity. Why, well some of you might think it’s about the body smell. But me I think about the health associated with showering. As a man, there are places on you that can gather dirt if you are not getting the daily showers you are supposed, as well as women. I don’t want to gross anyone out, but, if you don’t shower regularly as a guy, you can develop the dirt between the thigh and the genitals. This caked up dirt is grim that comes from you not having the two showers per day especially in the summer, when you might need three.

watch the food you eat

If you are consuming certain foods, it will effect the way you smell. And no one really would truly want to believe this, but it’s true. If you are eating fast food all the time like McDonald’s, you will develop a smell from the food you eat. You also will start to develop a breathe smell as well. So, if you plan on being alone in your personal life, then fine, smell how you want; oh yeah and being unemployed. But otherwise, you might want to think about freshening up. But back to the food, eat foods that are more fresh like I don’t know, fruits and veggies. You like eating meat, fine, then baked chicken breast are better to consume than fried chicken.

“reach” for the stars

Let me just be straight forward, you have to get deep in all the crevasses. And when I say that, I mean, bending over and digging in those hard to reach places and if you’re a guy like me, lifting, “wink wink” certain things wiping underneath. And you want to scrub those areas, not wash. You scrub because you have to take into consideration that scrubbing gets rid of bacteria. But the reach areas don’t stop at shower, you have to reach in areas after with oils also. And that is something that I do, after the shower rub my body down with proper oils and maybe a dab of powder in certain areas. Oh yeah, wear certain underwear when you dress. And yes, I know all this sounds excessive, but it’s not. Living in New York City, you’re constantly around large crowds so you are aware of smells in this city.

Most people go to sleep and wake up not really thinking about their health. Problem is, things arise that force you into the doctor’s office. Now, for me, I like to go to the doctor’s office throughout the year. And even with that nothing is guaranteed. So you say to yourself, why even do it if there is no guarantee with health? Well, statistically it puts you at a strong disadvantage. You are supposed to care for your body even when the doctor’s visit renders there is nothing wrong. That doesn’t mean you’re supposed go, “Oh, there’s nothing wrong, back to the donuts and ice cream.” Bad decision to make once you have been given clearance.

longevity means a lot

Everyone want to have a long life on Earth. But when you get news that you must change your lifestyle, then you are forced to come to a realization. You want to live longer than you are going to live change the lifestyle. Or, you can go at it like you have been doing. That is the thing that wakes people up. And hey, you still may live longer, but do you want to live longer and be forced to live in an assisted living quarters. Because there is nothing more upsetting to see someone that is much much older who refused to change their ways early in life. Now they have to have someone around the clock caring for them until the day they die.

Depending on your family history, you may be prone to have sicknesses unlike others. In my family, diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease is a problem. So I have to be extra careful considering it is on both sides of my family. Now, granted, since childhood, I grew up an athlete, but every now and then I feel a little sick. A lot of times it’s nothing but a little bit of stress and anxiety. I will say for the most part I am fine. But if you come from one of these families it should be a wake-up call when you see people getting ill from sicknesses you know you have a lot of control over.

How often do you go in for a doctor’s visit? I can tell you from me personally, I routinely go in to get myself checked. But, as for mental health, I have not been in a doctor’s office in quite some time. I just don’t feel the need to enter the mental health office because I have discomfort and I also figured out a way to cope. As for physical health, there is no way to not visit the office and feel like everything is just going to be fine. You have to go into the office and make sure things are right even if you feel great. I received my health insurance for the first time in years, and so far went about four times last year.So my question to you, how often do you checkup on your health?

For some reason we seem to not think about mental as we talk about health. But the mental aspect of health is directly connected to the physical. Since our brain is the central nervous system of our bodies, the thoughts that go through our minds is very crucial to our survival. Yet you would be surprised how much people would just flat out dismiss the idea that there is something mentally wrong with them. No one wants someone picking away at their brain, but we could all use some form of help at some period in our lives. Because this health should come before physical.

routine visits

How often do you go to the doctor’s office? Twice a year or once a month? Ok, maybe once a month is a little much. But you have to pick a time to go that works for you. Go in and get yourself a visit to make sure everything is up to par. And most don’t want to visit a doctor because we are afraid they might find something we don’t want to know about. But what is minor that we are afraid of turns into something major. You have to get out of that fear of being scared. Yes, we all will die some day, and that fear is constant. No one wants to go too soon, but never linger on Earth. So it’s that back and forth and fear that keeps us from going. But please people, get yourself checked.

overeating in america

I come from the Midwest, and if you know anything about this region of the country, you know we love to eat. And let’s not leave out the South as well. And to put things into perspective, when I say eat, I mean everything has pork fat, lard, fried, and glazed. Oh yeah, BBQ’d and smoked to perfection. And here lies the problem with the regions. Because when you have of the top fattest cities, four of the top five in one state (Texas) that possess a serious health concern. I know we live in a country where we can eat what we want, but there has to be limits. Texas, as I mentioned, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan; these places lead the charge in being overweight.

good eatin, bad problems

What happens when you consume so much food, you start to develop health issues surrounding the food you eat. Diabetes, heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, hyperglycemia, colon cancer, stomach cancer, throat cancer, liver disease, pancreatic cancer, gallbladder disease, kidney failure, and loss of vision (which can stem from diabetes). Now, if eating good means any of these issues, keep the meal over there. But we seem to not care and tell people don’t tell me what to eat. But it will be the problem of someone when they are forced to care for you when you lose a leg to Diabetes. So eat what you like, but think for just a moment those who may have to care for you.

hell, water can be bad drinking too much

You want to have a few donuts, fine; a little Haagen Dazs, go nuts. But go nuts every now and then. You can eat anything, just don’t make things a habit. Too much bread and not a balance of other foods can lead to illnesses. And what is more healthy then good old fashion bread. Well, there are fruits and vegetables; but beware, too much fruit raises sugar levels as well. You don’t need to eat sweets to still get sick. And after hearing this you say, now who cares. If fruit gets me sick, let me eat my donuts in peace. Well, nothing is guaranteed, but fruit is a hell of a lot better than chips and cookies and donuts. So eat as you wish, but don’t say you weren’t warned.

The video above talks about how insurance coverage works. And if you happen to be one the Americans who can afford health coverage that works for you and your family, then count your lucky stars. Because there are so many people in this country who don’t have the means to pay for their healthcare. I know for myself, I went a very long time no being able to afford healthcare coverage. But now I do have some form of coverage. Notice I said some form of coverage. Because I don’t have the best, but it is enough to get the job done.

remember, low is good enough

Note something, I said before that it is good to have some type of insurance. But realize that when I say you have some type, you are not necessarily provided with good insurance. Check out the coverage to what about of money. Check out the co-pays if there are any. Also, check out the people that are in your network available to you. You might learn that you could find yourself out of a lot of money if there is something seriously wrong with your health. Even with insurance, you are out of a lot of money because you’re buying on a budget. But if it’s all you can afford, I guess you have to go with that type of insurance coverage.

stay strong, just in case

When you know that you are on a budget when it comes to healthcare, then you have to make the adjustments to your life. Make sure you eat right and exercise whenever you can. There is nothing guaranteed, but at least you lower your chances when you take precaution. Like me, I have some serious paranoia when it comes to health. So even with exercise, I tend to get sick. So imagine if you don’t take care of yourself.

Ever wake up in the morning and feel like you just can’t get yourself motivated to do anything that is of benefit to your physical health? This is something that millions of Americans deal with everyday. And the reason being is that staying in shape is such a tough feat, especially once you’re out of school and no longer have to do so. You hated it in gym class, and even more now that you’re an adult. But what happens when you are not motivated to care about your physical health? I’ll tell you what happens, so goes the quality of life with the physique. Try doing to simplest of activities when you are not in shape and see how difficult it can be. Difficulty that was not there when you were in the best shape of your life.

going about your day

You take one step, then two steps, and by the third step you have to stop and take a breather. You are going to have to ask yourself a  few questions. And one of those questions is, how much do you weigh? Are you of healthy size? And if you still feel fine, know that walking such short stints and then having to stop for air is not normal. That is your body telling you are not fine. As a human being, why are the easiest of task wearing you out? Lifting weights should make you tired, but walking halfway up the street without having to take a seat is problematic. And I know people say love yourself, but liking what you see, and what is negatively effecting your body is another. You can discredit the physician, but don’t be surprised when it happens, the drawbacks.

when enough is enough

There will have to come a day where you can no longer run away from the thing that is keeping you from motivating yourself. You will have to eventually say to yourself that you are not well. And anyone who has dealt with weight problems their entire life will tell you that they don’t truly feel good. Not being mobile so you can accomplish simple task effecting your overall quality of life is not something you want to live with over time.

Your body will tell you all sorts of things if you just listen to it. But this topic today is not about listening to the human intuition about life or listening to yourself pursuing a career. This is about listening to ones body in regards to their physcial health. Now, every now and then the body has a tinge pain, but it’s normal especially if you have been sitting or standing for a long period of time. But then there are the more serious ailments where things have not gone away for some time. That is the signs of something else. Now, it may be something minor, but nontheless, listen to yourself. Familiarize yourself with the medical terminology associated with the body both mentally and physically.

don’t get to scared

WebMD is the most horrifying website for anyone trying to figure out why they are sick. Because that website will give you the worst sicknesses connected to your symptoms. And the reality is that you most likely don’t have much wrong. So you have to ssit back and actually look at the worst, but first observe the minor problems. Like everything in America is linked to Cancer.So we automatically think we have Cancer. But the problem is, we just have something like lower pain cured with rest and ice. So don’t drive yourself crazy for nothing.

practice a healthy lifestyle

Exercise and eating right are not guarantees for a long life. Some people smoke cigarettes and live to be 90 years old, others die in shape at 25 years old. The reliaty is, everytime you smoke you decrease your odds of life. So you have no guarantee of long life, but that doesn’t mean you do whatever to your body. Because when you get sick, it is others that will have to care for you.
