SILENTLY LEAVING: WHY MILLENNIALS ARE LEAVING THE WORK FORCE

“Fed up and free!”

A HIT GENERATION

During the years of 2007 and 2008, I was in college. I found myself on campus while a lot were graduating coming into one of the worst recession since the Great Depression. Luckily for me, I was in college and didn’t feel to much of the force of the downturn economically. But I had two sisters that were living in society and out of college. It lasted until I reached graduate school. And life seemed on the up and up for a generation until 2019 a story started circulating regarding an outbreak in China. But the first story of the Corona Virus hit the United States in the year of 2020. And then more people started to get sick. That is when the lockdown took place for what we thought would become days or maybe even weeks. Yet here we are in the year 2023 and life seems to officially be back to normal. Then again it is going to take people years more to recover.

LOW MOTIVATION

With so much that has been going on over the years with a generation, we have noticed a drop in interest to heavily contribute to the system. Is it because the country has hit this age group to where we have not been able to experience the potential fruits of labor like the generations past? Or is it simply because the employment is not up to what we would like it to be? Whatever it is, the interest to build and contribute on a widespread scale is not the least bit motivating. And that lack of motivation is something that can ultimately soil a society. From here, what will become of our American society with so many people not wanting to go all the way in and contribute.

SOILING SOCIETY

What will become of a society where tow generations back to back are not the least bit interested in contributing to the world around us. Don’t get me wrong it is not everyone, but there are enough people to where it could cause major structural problems in the United States. Because people are dong what ailed them today. This is not good since our society depends upon people starting young and contributing to the system to where the government now has a base for the next generation. If America’s next generation is more concerned with not building then who is going to continue the greatness of a nation.
