“Time to leave?”

There has been this movement in the recent years regarding men leaving the United States and moving overseas in search of monogamous relationships. Or at least that’s the narrative that is pushed over the internet. But what is interesting is how many people don’t actually know what a passport bro is. I myself have just heard of this movement in the past couple of years. Because it never crossed my mind to leave the United States in order to find a relationship. Now, the critics are going to have their input stating that these men are leaving because they refuse to compete in the mating and dating market in America. On the other hand the guys leaving would say that women in America are not traditional women anymore. Then again, why not stay?
WHO ARE THE BROS
Throughout human history there has been a segment of people who explore the world. Ferdinand Magellan was a very popular explorer who led the first mission to circumnavigate the globe in search of lands that he would return home to speak about. Charles Darwin was another who did so, only he would come home to present to society his findings regarding the natural world. Fast forward until present day society and men are doing so in search of women. This too is not anything new, only modern technology has made the process more seamless through immediate communication. And these men we call, “the bros,” are African American men who have become tiresome of the tedious and nonrewarding dating opportunities in America that they are finding overseas.
This has not gone without criticism from the within the Black community as well as a few skeptics from outside the community who have reason to believe that this is nothing more than a group of men not wanting to evolve with the times and compete with every other ethnic group of men in America. So who is being more informed regarding the matter. From my understanding who the bros are, is something that started around the time when I was being brought into the world back in the 1980’s. This is when a small group of professional men took trips outside the country. They talked among themselves, yet eventually word would get to the average Joe. These are some of the immediate men who go on to visit, some stayed and never returned to America while others came back. Over time word got around and with the advent of social media, you’re about it more and more today. But as I said earlier, it is not going to come without controversy.
WHAT IS FACT & WHAT IS FICTION
When you observe this landscape of men who are going outside the country, is it as big as we would like to lead others to believe. Ok, so when you observe for instance YouTube where these conversations take place it’s on the basis of the internet algorithm. So if you are into health and wellness, you don’t even know these conversations take place. That means you’re seeking out this information in order to have controversy. There’s people out there by the millions who have no clue as to what a passport bro is because they are into other things.
