NO THOUGHT: HOW COLLEGES NO LONGER ENCOURAGE FREE SPEECH

“We used to love it.”

free speech space

Ever remember when college universities used to be places for you to harness thoughts of people that are different from yourself? Now these places of higher learning have become campuses for constantly getting you into trouble for having opposing views. Why have things changed so much on our campuses as oppose to the past? Why have our young people become so sensitive to the idea that someone may have a view that is not their own on the other side? We like to say things like, the power has shifted in the country and we also say that the media is effecting the information we receive. But the examples are only for speculation. We really don’t know for certain why things have really changed. It was something gradual that happened over time.

you’re cancelled

What is it with a generation of young people that want to cancel anyone that has a difference of opinion. This has been a cultural phenomena that has swept the nation in recent history. You have the right to say what you want and I have the right to protest it. Which ultimately means you don’t have the right to say it. And where has it come from is beyond me. Just because we don’t like something it doesn’t mean it is worthy of a protest. But nowhere is this more evident than on college campuses. A place where you are supposed to come in contact with people of varying backgrounds differences of opinion. But for some reason this younger age group want nothing to do with those that are oppose to their viewpoints.

won’t ever swing back

People always talking about how the pendulum might swing back in the opposite direction. Only problem is, that won’t happen for a view reasons. One the people on the opposite side have to be more tolerant than the younger ones, which won’t happen. But the other reason is that now that we have social media where you can openly chastise people no one want to be considered the shamed. Because who want to lose their job and be ousted publicly. So people don’t involve themselves.

SEXUALITY ORIENTATION: THE NEW BUZZ WORDS

Selective Focus Photography of Scrabble Pride on White and Multicolored Background

“My life, my choice.”

give me an L, give me a G, give me a B, give me a T

In the United States, there has always been some group of people who are marginalized. Whether it’s concerning race, gender, or religion. In today’s society you can add another to the list and that is ones’ sexual orientation. The government has made it a concerted effort to make it illegal for people in the LGBT community to live life as they wish. And this is how movements get started and slowly but surely turn into a full on fight for rights. Now one may ask, does it matter who you choose to date and marry? It does once there is a state and federal mandate against it. But the title of the topic today is buzzwords. Which leads me to believe one thing. Are we now still in the fight or weaponizing movements?

you don’t agree you must hate

Does disagreeing with someone automatically equate to hatred for that person? Well, let’s take a close look at what is meant by hate. Something is a strong and intense dislike for something, somewhere, or someone. But if wanted to look at it from a less broad perspective, then fine. Hate is a member of the dislike community, but they are not quit family. Because I don’t like plenty of things that I don’t necessarily hate. Because dislike means it’s not for you, and hate is on the verge of eradication. I don’t like grapefruit, but it should never be wiped off the planet as a fruit because someone likes eating it. Only reason why it’s hard to understand this is because Americans have become too reactive, and never look at the context of what’s being said. Simply put, we sometimes want to have our anger no matter how rational the statement.

a knee jerk society

We hear the statement, or better yet, hear about the statement and next thing you know, trouble for the person. We don’t want to hear what was really said. Because now we have to change out minds and admit we were wrong. So it’s better to be mad at someone, even when they have said nothing. And in America at the moment, you better say you agree in respect to the LGBT community. It better be positive and right down the middle. But is that what we really want? Do we want people to say they agree even when they don’t? Do we want fake supporters of the community, or a bunch of compliant people? Because the truth of how people feel always comes out. Then we are shocked to hear how people really feel.

ATHEISM WINS: WHAT IF ALL RELIGION DIED OUT

Silhouette Image of Person Praying

“When it all goes away.”

the end is near

I hope you are realizing something as it pertains to religion. And that is that it will not last forever. You will eventually see more and more relics of the major religions that have dominated the world in museums. They will be something we look back on thousands of years from now and be able to get an eye opener into our civilization. The only other two questions would have to be, “When will it happen,” and “How will people fair without it?” Because humanity won’t cease to exist, but the lives we live we be drastically different without a religion on Earth. Or will it be what we live now, just now belief?

the last to stand

Which of the three main religions will be the last to be in existence? In my opinion, I do believe Islam may be the last simply because the Middle East and parts of Africa have such a hold on the people. But considering they are so behind everyone else, this could prove to be a problem. Especially considering the Earth in shrinking as far as people living with each other. This means countries are starting to branch out and you will see people living closer together. Only problem is that cultures may start to bicker among each other. And religion has been that doctrine that has kept so much of humanity from fighting like we really could be.

how does it happen

As information spreads more and more, it will be hard to keep people under religious rule throughout the planet. So what happens is that people start to go out and find more information about the past, and in return uncovering more about the Earth than previously known. Anther more obvious reality is that religion goes away from people tired of the control factor. And I come back to the Middle East because of the women. You can only continue the same thing for only a period of time before it dies out. Nothing having to do with people is eternal. It’s only a matter time before all the dominoes fall down.

CLASS: THE NEW RACISM

Image result for classism

“Society’s transformation.”

the new injustice

As a young man growing up in the Midwest you got a chance to see something that was quite interesting. And that was the disparity in society regarding the wealth in America. In the majority of minority communities there was poverty and then you had the predominantly White communities. This is where all the wealth was centralized. And as I aged I got a chance to see kids I went to school with, which was mostly White students who came from poor households. Then it hit me, who has the money in America if so many White families are struggling. Because the wealth is growing in the White community, but a lot of White families were poor. Yet the money wasn’t being trickled down to Blacks or Latinos.

numbers and the meanings behind them

When you hear the ethnic group and then look at the stat, you have to ask yourself, what does this really mean? Because if White wealth is growing, Black wealth is actually decreasing in the community, Latino wealth not much growth, and Asian growth is growing, but the numbers are still small; how is it White wealth is growing with a growing poor population. It seems to me like the same families that have amassed wealth money is growing at an increasing rate. Black people are being pushed out, Latino numbers are rising, but wealth is in White hands. What you’re seeing is a rich-poor nation. And when you hear Trump supporters, who are mostly White saying, “Make America Great Again,” they are not realizing their pockets are shrinking from other wealthier White hands.

as we trek along

Moving into the future the face of America is changing, which means the problems will still exist. Only thing is, what will they be. And with the pushing out of communities, you’re talking a cultural clash, a divide, but most of all, class will be a serious war. Because we are already starting to see people fight over who has the right to make what amount of money in a year. And who deserves to make what income. Trust and believe it will head into the future, even by 2050 when so many of Americans are slated to look similar in facial tone.

NEW INTRUDERS: WHY WE ARE OPPOSING TO NEW NORMS

Related image

“The new, new.”

the introduction of

America is a society where we are quite apprehensive to change in the beginning stages of anything new. But then enough time goes by and we start to have a push back once we see people’s lives affected. And that is when he change starts to happen. We don’t notice it because we are living in real time, but after 50 years or even 100 years it all makes sense. Then we look back and say to ourselves, “I can’t believe people use to fight over that type of stuff.” But real time, we tend to fight over everything. Why are we so aggressive when it comes to introducing new norms into our world? A lot of it has to do with a status quo. We are a status quo species.

easy peezy

Once there is a way of life that one is used to living, then we go, ok this makes sense. But the problem is, there will always be a disenfranchised group of people. We look at them initially and say, really, come on, we’re going to introduce this into society. We are used to things going well with the way they are now. So why must things change. Now I have to get used to a whole new way of life. It becomes stressful o have to go through all this. Especially if you are older and used to the way life is as you know it. The new way now means everything you once knew in your life means nothing anymore. And if you are 20 years old that’s fine, but what about 50 years old? That can be a major culture shock.

get over it, you can’t stop it

Hey people, you want to stop things from happening, you fight, well guess what, get over it. You will have a hard time keeping things the same as generations continue to change. So you will either be forced to change or be weened out of existence. Understand that things are changing and you have no control. So you can fight and watch yourself push back or you can learn to adjust.
