MAKING IT IN THIS NEW WORLD: NAVIGATING A WORLD WHERE TECH IS TAKING OVER

Blue Screen of Death in Silver Black Laptop

“Where do I work?”

our new world

In this America we are currently living in, we are rapidly being inundated with the constant barrage of tech influence. No matter if it’s cameras everywhere capturing everyday activity, or machines replacing people. We all have to admit that manpower is something of the past. Eventually the world will get a point and stop growing, then there has to be some form of population decline. There will be eventually too many people and not enough resources. We always think of the government forcing people into a position. But people will start to make their own personal decision to not have children because of cost. And with jobs going more in more digital in developed countries, where do that leave us because we are changing quicker than developing countries.

how do we cope

Watching what is transpiring in front of us with regards to technology, what are we to do. Because now that we are seeing all the opportunities, we are not going back. How do you convince a generation of the combine to go back to mule pulling. Yes, we would love to believe the president of the United States stating that it’s illegal immigration. But in reality, tech spaces are moving people out of the job market. So in an effort to try to cope with the changing times, some people try to learn as much as possible to get in the game. Others will complain, but it does no good because what is meant to be will be.

next generation us

As far as the generation that will proceed my age group, I wonder will they ever get to the point where they are saying the same thing we are saying today about jobs and technology. And the answer is yes, there will always be a generation that cannot connect to what is going on in the world at the moment. You just look at the way the world is going and disconnect. What it does is makes life harder on you. So to avoid being left behind you have to always innovate.

CODING: THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING HOW TO

abstract, business, code

“The need is now.”

programming

The weird writing behind the computer screen is what so many are too intimidated to try to figure out. There is actually big business in learning to code. The problem is that so many people don’t know how to do so. It’s not as easy as just go out and learn. You have to have the tenacity to stick it out over time. And when I say over time, I mean can you sit down and learn and work it out for years; that’s right years. Coding is constantly changing and you have to change with it. If not, you will be working for years just to know the basics. You will defeat the purpose of learning all that time. So you have just wasted maybe 3-5, 5-7, or even more years.

what’s it all for

Some people learn for fun, but those are the people that are very few and far between. The majority of people learn coding for some economic gain. And if you are learning for the economics, then you need to understand that the word computer programming is a broad term. You have to familiarize yourself with the terminology. Because just saying coding will only make you more confused until you breakdown where you want to aim at understanding in coding. Now me myself, I am very unfamiliar with coding. I have tried and given up numerous times over. Hopefully I will try at it again some day.

benefits

Learning how to code opens the door for all types of career advancements. You can either work within an organization or you can work for yourself from home. You also can broaden your horizons in being able to troubleshoot for your computer as well. Imagine having software problems you don’t have to to pay for, for expert opinion. You can just flip the coding and find out if there are any errors you can fix for yourself. Saves you time and money that you may not have in life. Other benefits is that if you are a parent with a child, you can now educate them. It’s an early stage of learning and a way for you to bond with your child.

DIGITAL LEARNING: WHAT WILL HAPPEN OF SCHOOLS IN THE FUTURE

Photo of Woman Teaching

“The next step in American learning.”

the classroom

The classroom has taken on many different faces over time in America. But the future could hold something different in this country as well. Especially with the fight that teachers already have with maintaining the attention of the class in such a digital era. Kids constantly are on their cell phones and other mobile devices, that the teachers now have to almost assimilate to the new way of grabbing their attention. So much so, now teachers are promoting learning tools that are more interactive outside the classroom. But what happens when the interactive experience removes the in school learning experience in all?

remote location

We are already starting to see teachers give lesson plans in colleges where you don’t have to physically show up to class. But what happens when this becomes the norm for grade levels in elementary through high school? Then you’re going to have push back from parents who want their small child in school. Because they need to know how to communicate with teachers and other students. This is going to be their first hand account in how to resolve conflicts and deal with other people. Once that is removed you now have more than just learning that is gone. You miss out on all the personal relationships you build. Students who would otherwise make friends in school are now missing out in getting to know their classmates. But is everything as bad as it seems?

opportunities

With the downs, there is life in the digital learning outside the class. It could force students to build communities with others not in their school as well. Why, well the internet gives you opportunity to experience dealing with people you otherwise wouldn’t meet. Imagine a digital learning environment for kids like playing a Call of Duty video game. You are connected to a kid in China from New York; or connecting to an Indian kid from Iowa. There is this global base that would bring people closer together with this new digital model.

TOXIC TECHNOLOGY: WHEN ITS USE IS NOT THE INTENTIONS OF THE CREATOR

Two Men Holding Red and Gray Crt Tvs in Front of Faces

“Not the intended use.”

technological reasons

We don’t realize it, but there were alternate uses for some of the technology we have in today’s society. Like the television was supposed to be created as an educational tool for learning. Yet today we are constantly inundated with mass media. So what causes an invention such as the television to go from its original use to what it is today? And the answer would have to be generating revenues. Once people attach themselves to something it starts to grow and become bigger than its intention and inventor. Amazon was supposed to be only a online book store created by Jeff Bezos. But now Amazon is an organization where you can purchase almost any item you desire sold by some small vendors. Not to mention they now own Whole Foods grocery store.

who decides

What is the decision making for what this new tool will become? And the reality is not the person that created it. Because once people in a different position realize how they can exploit the situation they do. Oppenheimer and his message to the president of the United States in the past when he said, “Mr. President, I think I have blood on my hands,” after the atomic bomb drop. Or how Nobel created dynamite, and aimed at fixing his effects by creating the Nobel Prize competition. Only problem is that atomic bombs have become bigger and the average Joe now has their hands on dynamite. This is when the problem is crazy once it is out of the hands of the creator and into the hands of the optimist.

can we go back

Is there a way to fix what has happened once the damage is done? And sadly enough there is no way because what has become of the creation is so far gone. There is no way to bring the television back to when it was a tool for learning. Why, well there are just too many viewpoints that have shaped our minds about television. Also the internet has made television seem outdated and antiquated. So what you do is move forward the best way possible. And hopefully the future will look a lot more bright than the bleakness of our present state.

NEW AGE PARENTING: HOW TECHNOLOGY TO CONNECT TO KIDS IS A MUST FOR PARENTS

Portrait of Woman Photographing With Smart Phone

“Stay connected to them.”

monitor your offspring

For the longest parents would not think to allow their children to have cell phones. It was always the same thing, you are too young to have a phone. So kids could not wait until they turned 16, 17, or in some cases 18 years old to get a phone. Getting a cell phone in the past was like having a license. But the difference between the past and the present would be the level of technology that children already have access to, so why not. Why not give a kid a phone today. And plus, you need to be able to stay connected to whatever your child is doing. There is just too much they can get into today that wasn’t like the past.

losing battle

Parents are having to fight against every latest piece of technology out here. Some parents have to download apps themselves just to connect to their child emotionally. So what do you do because you can’t just tune out because then you’re out of the loop. So get in the game, and the longer you wait to have kids the more outside you are in the game. There are parents my mother’s age who have children in high school. Meanwhile my oldest sister is close to 40 years old. Which is a culture shock to be almost 60 years old and now you have teenagers when so many people your age have adults who have teenage kids. The job has to be very difficult coming from a 60’s generation with a child that is a Generation Me.

dumbing them down

Technology keeps you engaged with what your child is doing, yet at the same time, the tech era has created a generation of lost souls. Texting, tweeting, auto-correct, GIFS, Memes, and Emoji’s have created young people who perform poorly in schools because of bad grammar. So what you must do is now purchase materials that will combat the games and the way they verbally interact. Only problem is that technology is changing by the day and future parents will have to work even harder.

IT REMEMBERS: HOW MARKETERS ARE GETTING OUR ATTENTION

business, close-up, commerce

“Type, type, pop up later.”

how they target

Ever been on the internet, going through a loop, looking at random things. Well, better yet, have you been on the internet consistently looking at the same items. Then you forget about what you were looking at, and next thing you know, the items you had always been looking at appear in the margins of the screen. They appear because you have been scrolling for so long. Marketers pay very close attention to this because everything is connected to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. And connected because people elect to sign into their accounts using their social media in multiple locations. Now there is an open access into your life.

where is it all going

What happens when you don’t buy something? Is all this information kept on file for days, months, years? In reality it is kept for as long as organizations want to keep it. And after a while they dump the information. This all serves a purpose in case you break the law. Then there is a trail of all the things you used to look up. But most people don’t break the law where information sought after. We have no clue really what is being done with our information after searching and searching. But what if the information can be accessed by someone more important. Individuals such as your employers.

from marketers to the workplace

Sounds crazy, and very invasive, but what is stopping your employers from knowing your key strokes. Are there any laws that will stop them from doing such a thing. Now there are laws. But what will happen in the future? Employers reaching out to marketers who are known to patronize Facebook and Instagram. Then these companies that hire can pull up information on what the potential person they are hiring have been searching. This way they can see what their potential hire does with their spare time. This is even worse then Facebook selling people’s information without knowledge. But it’s not far-fetched to think employers would go to these lengths. Now, I don’t see it ever happening, but what we don’t know can hurt us.

reality is

The main reason marketers want your information is to sell you products. Giving your information to employers can be too much of a legal risk for them and the employer. And the vast majority of people don’t commit crimes. So dealing with the government is not much of an option either. For now, it’s all about dollars; and information is big money.

DRONERSHIP: WHAT GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS IS GOING TO COME OF ALL THE CONSUMER PURCHASES

adult, blur, bright

“That time will come.”

drones life

Drones have come a long way from when I first saw them. But when I first saw them, they were not for the use of people in their daily lives. Whether it be social or professional. Why, well he the only people that really had them were the ultra wealthy. And that is because the cost to afford them initially were so high, you couldn’t possibly imagine someone would own such a thing. But as always, once the technology gets to where it need to be, then you see more and more of these mini flight machines. But as time progress, what will come of the use of drones on the governmental side. Because there is a safety side to owning these toys.

government intervention

Seal of the United States Department of Homeland Security.svgAs more and more people purchase drones, there have come these regulations from the government. And because of the regulations, you can only fly them in certain areas. It has a lot to do with safety, which is a ruling from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). But there are personal drones for in-flight that people will be riding in for future use. This will bring in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). And understandably so because I know I will abide by the laws if owning a drone. But the regulations are for people like me. A a matter of fact, I am the of he majority of people who are responsible. The very few are the ones who could impact everyone with their poor decision making. For example, I was watching a YouTube video where a young man placed wire his drone to hold his gun and pull the trigger. This who the regulations are for, since they are the ones contributing to either hurting people, or teaching others how to hurt.

opportunities

Now, when looking at the positives of the drones that will be brought to market in the future, what are the upsides? Well, for starters, you’re talking about a new form of delivery services. Because a drone designed to sustain for longer periods of time can aid in getting packages to and from their destinations. Imagine FedEx, UPS, or USPS getting you your packages much quicker and much more efficient. Which also creates a whole new opening for engineering work in the future. Now, of course you will have a number of jobs lost in the process, but it will be like any other form of work in the future. You just adjust to the change in times.
