a nation of problems

In a country where everyone’s lives are on social media, what do you do when it starts to effect the way we live our lives. Because being inundated with constant media cannot be good for a person’s well-being. And one of the reasons is because we are constantly comparing our lives with the lives of someone we don’t know. Simply because they posted a photo of something on their personal web page or profile. Now note I said posted something. Because we like to think that someone else’s life is better, but the reality is, it may not even be their life. And this is what America has come to as a nation. Our mental state is being effected simply because a few organizations were created. Because think about it, prior to 2006, where could you really go to post your life and talk to the masses?

cheer up someone is worse

I hate the fact that I may have to look at someone who is in a worse position to feel better about the fact that I am going through something. My mind is riddled, so I have to look at the homeless guy sleeping in the train station and say to myself that could be me. Imagine that, sleeping in the subway and a pained mind. That would easily turn into something much worse. But as crazy as that my sound, some people have to find that solace in their lives by looking at those who are more ravished.

who is at fault

We have cultivated a society which worships ourselves. So the reality behind how to fix this problem comes from within. But that would means it’s an unfixable problem because no one wants to say they are contributing to any major problem. So what happens is that the problem persists until there is nothing left to do. But by that time we will have already gone off the deep end. Or, if not the deep, we continue the madness in another form, and further go into a life of metal illness.

in a world of hurt

Studies have recently came out and found that people are far more depressed in today’s society than ever before. Now, a lot of signs have pointed to the consuming aspect of social media. The idea that no matter how well you’re doing, someone somewhere is doing better than you. And if you are constantly comparing yourself to people on social media, then yes, you will be mentally hurt. And that is why the state of our mental health has been in such a low place recently. But what is even more sinister is the idea that people have become to infatuated with making other people lose everything they have ever worked for because we are so unhappy. Whoever thought that we would be so unhappy that someone else getting ripped makes us feel good.

whose to really blame

If the state of our mental health is so low, then who should be held responsible? the answer to that question is us. We are to held liable for our own hurt not some internet portal. We shouldn’t see Instagram or Facebook taken away because content makes people unhappy. Because people always have a way of turning it off. There are close to 1 billion people on Facebook, but 7 billion people in the world. That means you are on it because of choice. We seem to look for places to get us angry when it really is as easy as unfollow. The things that makes us unhappy we can detach quicker than we know. Reality is, we are addicted ti the anger. It almost gives us a sense of belonging in a world where no one sees us.

nothing new but the weather

A lot of our issues we have always had as a society, it’s just that we have not never had an outlet like today to express ourselves. So now we just pour all of our emotions out for the world to see and hear. And what it has done was expose what was already there, yet not everyone could see. And that is that we have, a serious metal health problem in our world. Now, like I said before, we have to fix our own problems, but it’s hard to fix the problem if people won’t even admit they have a problem to start.

MY MIND PLAYING TRICKS: THINKING YOU ARE NOT AS GOOD AS YOU ARE

why i hurt

I come from work from my overnight shift and go to sleep because it is still in the early A.M. And when I wake up it is usually in the morning in as well. How do I get myself motivated when my mind is rattled about when and where to start my day. This is something that comes across my mind on a daily basis. You start to feel like your mind is trying to destroy you from progressing in life. And that is a tough thing because you need your mind to exist. And your mind will be the launching pad that will propel you into success. So when it goes so does the ability to succeed.

the mirror doesn’t lie, your mind does

You ever stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself with disdain? The look that you don’t like what you see and that you are never going to be better than where you are now. That feeling of image as you look in the mirror will eventually turn into your reality. And the mirror will give you a literal interpretation of what you think of yourself. Only the mirror is not a trick mirror. You will slowly turn into the person you thought you were prior to what you have become. Your own physical embodiment will shift and now you are that person you hate. Trust and believe I know what that feeling is about and have been in that place.

uncertainty and unknown

Walking into the land of who knows what is a scary place to be. Because now you are trying to maneuver in a place where you are foreign. You don’t speak the language of the land and any form of communication means nothing. And I walk through this land, not because of the city where I dwell, but life. And that is why I feel like the mind is playing tricks. What I wake up intending to do and what I actually do sometimes is different. It’s like I am in a fight with myself because I don’t ever think I look as good as I look. I don’t think I am as smart as I am. So there is this constant battle with self until I am successful at what I do in life.

HURT AND PAIN: WHEN GOING THROUGH DEPRESSION

Sometimes I find myself in place mentally that is hard to escape. And that place is know as depression. In my life, I have learned to cope with the feeling of depression, but for some reason it never goes away. I manage it better now, but it was much worse in the past. Where does it come from? How does one become depressed? And I don’t know, nor can I tell you how it came about. But I will say, that I am one of millions of Americans that battle with this issue. Luckily for me, I have a coping mechanism that aid me in getting over feeling down.

is it born or brought on

People say you can become depressed in life, but are there traits that you have that you are born with in life. Things that make you who you are, that never leave. Are we predisposed to being depressed? There are a lot of people who believe this to be true. Now me on the other hand, there are things in your family, but for me it was more so quality of life. I was depressed from childhood all the way through my 20’s. I am 31 years old and just now able to begin to have the happiness I wanted early on. And that is what depression does, it alters your entire existence and you have delayed progress.

running from the problem

Where is the problem you’re going through stemming from? many of us have unresolved issues in our lives that we never worked out. My issue was identity because a lack of male in my life, self-conscious about appearance, and growing up poor.How do you begin to work your problems? Sure there is ways to go about it by seeking medical treatment. But at times, you have to move past the treatment and be able to ask yourself questions when not able to seek treatment. So know why you have the issue, and that could potentially make treatment easier.

THOUGHTS LEAD TO ACTION: WHAT THOUGHTS TRULY MANIFEST INTO REALITY

our thoughts

We have these thoughts on a daily that creep into our minds. And it can haunt us because often these thoughts translate into actions. That is the quote that exist; your thoughts become actions. But why do your thoughts become actions? I think a lot of things in my life, some good and some bad. But only very few stick in mind. Because I might be afraid to fly, but still fly. I might see myself as bird with flight like capabilities. But the only things that manifest is when I feel I can’t accomplish my goals. What is it about those particular thoughts that stick out the most?

real thoughts matter

The thoughts that stick in our minds and become actions are the thoughts where success in life is involved. When we see ourselves as a bird that can fly, it means nothing because humans don’t have flight capabilities. Yet when we see ourselves never succeeding our career, then the thoughts manifest itself. One of the reasons is that the things such as flight like a bird are a disbelief. No matter how many times I say I can’t flight, doesn’t matter, no human can. Succeeding in your career is a must to coexist in society. So it becomes a necessity. Anything that is need based becomes frozen in the mind. Another reason for people manifesting the success versus failure thoughts over others because it speaks to a want. I don’t want to swim across the Pacific Ocean from California to China. But on the other hand, I want to learn how to swim. Appealing to my want and not thinking I can, will keep me from ever learning to swim.

suspension of disbelief

Remember what I said earlier about flying like a bird. Scrape that, you can fly like a bird. I know it sounds crazy to discredit all of what I had just said. But there is a context to my speech. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish you have to remove reality to some degree. We had to think about flying like birds to create aviation. Because no human flies, we have to look at the closest thing that mirrors our creations. So in order to accomplish something that is a feat no human can physically do, but a machine can, your thoughts really have to be aligned properly. Because now, you are thinking outside the box and defying logic to accomplish a task. So protect your mental state because it can really alter your perception of the world around you and ultimately negatively effecting your directed path in life.

TAKING YOURSELF TO ANOTHER PLACE: HAVING GOOD MENTAL ENERGY

state of mind

Beginning this month, I wanted to start out talking about good physical health. Well, here is the topic about good mental health. Because we seem to think that good physical health is good mental health. But it’s the other way around. If you want your body to be healthy, your mind has to be in a certain place. That’s why you are able to get out of bed and exercise. You have never heard of anyone with good mental health who takes care of their bodies. They are usually engaging in something that is harmful to them on some level. I have had the bad mental energy throughout my 20’s, and it showed in my body. So if your mind is not right, sometimes you have to leave this body and enter another celestial place. Well, how does one do that.

the internal escape

I love walking the streets of New York City and creating these very engaging scenarios that make me act them out in my head. Then I snap back to reality and realize that my day has been filled with something to think about other than my struggles. Having that void filler is crucial when trying to cope in day to day society. Putting yourself in an engaging scenario can aid you in exploring especially someone like me, when trying to stretch your mind creatively. But even when are not operating in a creative space, you’ll be surprised with what you find out about yourself. I have managed to deal with my depression and anxiety because I escape. And being with my thoughts creatively aids me in writing, which is a career goal for me.

tap into your inner solar system

The title of this header sounds rather ominous, but it can work if you know how to do so. You see, the human body must be looked at from the standpoint of the universe where our planet resides. And that means being able to look inside of yourself from the standpoint of how we look at Earth relative to the planets and stars in space. Put it this way, what sits at the center of the planets where everything is drawn to, the sun. All the planets are drawn to the sun, and rotate around the sun. The brain is the central nervous system of the body. And the entire body operates based on how the brain processes information and sends signals to pump blood throughout the body. So you can figure out what planets lie where, and feed them so they can make your body work properly. Meaning the kidneys need water, exercise for the heart, berries for the liver, whole grain for the intestines.

In the month of January, I dedicated the entire month to the mind and our health. Our perceptions and perspective of the world, and what we must do to focus on our health. Now, next month will be a new topic that will cover something different. This is the beginning for what hopefully will be a major year for my blog growth. So follow along with me as we take the journey through the year of 2018 together. This post will be very short considering it is just a wrap up for the month.
