HAVING A JOB CAN SUCK

“This stinks.”

9 – 5 BORDEM

Are you working a job that you hate going to everyday? It just becomes this mundane thing that you hate showing up to five days a week. And today, it’s not just one because so many people have to work multiple jobs. So it is not a 9 – 5 anymore. It is now a Monday thru Sunday job workweek. You sometimes forget about the days because you’re working everyday. And this is the point where you realize that your life needs some type of change. You look around and have this thought of dejection from walking into your house everyday. Or better yet, if you are dreading Monday and looking forward to Friday, you are not living. Well, how can you have a job that doesn’t suck?

FINDING SOMETHING THAT DOESN’T SUCK

It’s easy to say to someone to just find a new job. Especially if that person or those people have a career that they love. But you have to make some type of adjustment because living like this will send you into  a life of depression. So the best thing you can do is reach out to people and ask for references on jobs. Or you can just try reaching out via internet portals. Now those jobs are harder to attain, but it doesn’t hurt to try it out. But keep in mind, this process could be worst than staying your current position.

LEARN TO EXIST AND MOVE ON

Have you ever tried to find aspects of your job to care about to make the time go by? You may have to do this until you find a way to get out of your daily grind. Because if you wake up everyday with the mind frame here we go again you start to resent your life. And you will sink deeper into a life of nothing. So figure out something you like, if not something someone, then you can exist until you find something else you like that you are good at. Then it’s easier to find a better job.

“Which one means more to you?”

for the one you love

Here is the question for today, and that is would you choose a significant other over your career? A lot of people in today’s society would say that this is something that is a big mistake. But if you talk to people from a different generation they might say otherwise. And the reason for this change in society today would have to be because no one want to depend on the next person for anything. And also, there is the idea that what if the relationship does not work itself out. Then you are stuck thinking in your mind why didn’t I take that opportunity that came my way that was turned down prior.

bad decisions

Just understand something people about giving up your career for someone you love. Things have been known to happen, and the problem with this is that you’re stuck in a bad situation. So let it be known that you have to have a backup plan before you decide to give up opportunities. Because people tend to change over time and you don’t want that regret thought in your mind. On the hand, it could workout for you in the end. You could actually find someone that might make you feel a certain way that it’s worth it.

make the move, drop the career

It can hurt some people, but staying for someone and leaving the gig could prove to be beneficial if the person is worth it. Some people might call you crazy for choosing a person over the career, and yes, it is dice, but if it works out, it could be better than the gig. For those that don’t have great relationships, they may encourage otherwise. You just have to do hat is in your best interest not other people looking to get involved.

But since you might be less obligated to cut people off, then you may have to decide if it’s in your best interest to try to find other methods for making money. But how do you make more money, because it’s not like money just magically appears into your bank account. You have have a skill of some sort that renders you the ability to make more money.

don’t be afraid to ask for that promotion

When you are working somewhere for a very long time, and you know that your income is not cutting it, ask for a raise. Now, it sounds easier than you think because what happens when you get turned down? How do you deal with the rejection because you do have to come to work again tomorrow. and now it creates a weird environment. So, are you prepared to walk off the gig so that your family can do better.

who is on your payroll

Who are these people in the household that you have to care for that are causing you to come out of pocket? Make sure that you can care for them with the income you have or make them pull their own weight as well. If they are wife/husband and kids fine, but other relatives can cause a strain on you. So know what you can handle in life.

FREE WORK: DON’T SLEEP ON UNPAID

Woman Sitting on Gray Chair

“Blessing in disguise.”

no pay for experience

You want to go off and make a lot of money one day, fine. But when you first start out, there is generally no money to be made in your career endeavor. But when you are dealing with a generation that wants things now, then you are going to have problems in building. You need to understand that no pay could provide you with the skills and connections to do more in life. But when all you can see is what is right in front of you, then you sometimes kill your blessings.  So know that everything does not come in the form of a check.

you have nothing to bargain with

When you are a younger age you don’t have anything to negotiate with. You can’t just walk in and make demands like you have been doing it for so long. You have to be doing this for some time in order to make a consistent income. Consistent income takes time where you have to do not only build your income elsewhere but build your dream on another time. So you have to have a full time job and this gig that may not pay much if anything. And the idea of doing something for free kills people. Only thing is that you have to do it for free because there is nothing to be made off your ideas. So you have to work extra hard.

its a marathon

Understand that we all have a start. And if you want to be anywhere in life, you have to willing to deal with what comes with being in the position. You have to understand how each of the moving parts work. You are in such a rush to get to where you have to go, but why. You want to try to learn all the moving parts around the job. You don’t just get the job and make money. Understand what others around you do. It will make you a better person in your career.

AGE OF CONSENT: SHOULD WE LOWER THE WORKING AGE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WANTING TO EARN

Related image

“The right to work.”

at least this age

When I was a young child I wanted to start earning. But due to the strict labor laws that we have in this country, that prohibited me from working when I wanted to. But you are allowed to have a work permit with the parent’s consent at the age of 12. Only in certain jobs can you be this age, like delivering newspapers.  but if you want to work in a lot of other places you have to be 16 years old. But working anywhere is allowed upon your 18th birthday. Will we ever see for certain circumstances a much younger person able to earn? Like, why can’t an 11 year old work at a fast food restaurant?

rules are made to not be broken

Once upon a time in American history, the child was not able to just stay home and play as children do today. You had to work and provide some form of income for the family. There was no sitting around and doing nothing. It didn’t matter if you were a farm hand, or some kids in the distant past worked in the factory along side their parent. But then all these rules had to be put into place to guarantee that the child would not only be safe, but insure that they would not be taken advantage of for the their labor. Also, the health of a young child working in a factory would mean a short life expectancy. This could prove to be negative on our society in the long run.

odd jobs are totally fine

Now, if you are open to allowing your child to make money cutting the grass of neighbors, fine. This is generally the first job that all kids have early on in life. Other jobs include shoveling the snow or running errands for people. This is the introduction into being able to see a hard days work. It will give your child an open eye into what they don’t want to do in life, or do in life.

BOTTOMELESS PIT: NOT KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT TO DO

Woman Sitting in Front of Macbook

“What should I be doing?”

i have no clue

We all know the person in college who change their major three or four times. They keep at it in school because they have no clue what they want out of life. Then they do get out of school and still go from job to job not really knowing what they want. Just like changing their major they change careers. First they want to design clothes, then open up a restaurant, next thing you know they are working on being a nightclub promoter. Their lives are not really headed in any really direction. Just falling in this pit with not bottom. So what do you do if you are one of these types of people?

figure out early

I spent so much of my time trying to figure our in my 20’s what I was good at in life. Then I stumbled upon writing, filmmaking, and photography. This is when I realized what I truly wanted to do with my life. After that it became the work to be good at what I am doing. But the problem with so many people is that they are so focused on their fun and personal lives, they neglect their career goals. Then they start to say things like, “I think I might want to be this or that.” That’s fine when you’re 18 years old, but you start to move through your 20’s and entering 30’s, you feel more helpless and less accomplished. So you have to resist the want to go out and have fun to focus on your path in life.

never getting there in life

The hardest part of life is realizing you may never find your passion. You will live on this Earth and not quite measure up. And who want s to really do that in life. You live for the next 50 years and then realize it was all for nothing. That is why people hold on to religion so much. To know this is it can be very scary.
