THERE REALLY IS AN I IN TEAM: HOW TO CONTRIBUTE TO A COMPANY AND STAND OUT

Group of People Raising Right Hand

“How to stand put in a crowd.”

the one on the team

When you are on a team and want to get a promotion for yourself, how do you stand out so that you can advance. Because when you are building and want to grow within and organization, you need to stand out. Yet how do you do such a thing with so many other people of the same mind-frame as you? Everyone, from the moment they walk into the office space, has this one thing in mind and that is climbing that ladder to the top. How is this going to pan out for you if you feel you are the one of many to make it happen?

know everyone

As you are making the rounds and knowing everyone in sight, you are going to need some type of ally. And the reason being is because you want your name to make the rounds of people that will be getting to know who you are in the office. They will speak highly of you which will then in turn aid in you being the chosen one for the promotions as time goes on. And what’s also going to happen is people will not hold as much animosity for the role being given to you. You will then also be the guy people want to impress for their chance to rise up.

stay behind

Working late nights really makes you stand out in the crowd. You show up early and leave later then everyone else. But make sure you’re doing something that requires your time and not the impression you are doing something. You don’t want to fake the part, but be the part. It’s so easy to get caught up in the idea of being what you want instead of actually doing the work. And when you are getting work done, it makes it easier to promote you forward. Once again, you need allies as much as possible for when you get in that role you have people with the least amount of resistance.

compliment don’t hate

How to kiss ass and not appear desperate. Man wouldn’t that be a great book to be written because it’s what it is. You have to be willing to compliment the work of others as much as possible. Let your work stand on its own and talk great about others. Trust and believe there will be people who reciprocate. And worst comes to worst, the people who you compliment might walk away with the promotion. But they will be told how you aided in your complementation. So guess who’s name is in the strong race for the next step up. Now is this a guarantee, no, nothing is, but you are and will be remembered moving forward.

I am from Racine, Wisconsin where I was raised until I graduated high school back in the year 2006. That entire time growing up in my mother's house, I was a student athlete. My goal was to embark on a general business career or athletics. But injuries through sports stopped a sports path, so I decided upon business with a focus in marketing. While attending undergraduate school at University of Wisconsin-Parkside, I began to write screenplays in my senior year. At first it was for fun, but I quickly learned writing allow me to transfer negative energy into characters I created. This led to a decrease in depressing mood swings, which in turn boosted my quality of life. After undergraduate school in May of 2011, I move to New York City for graduate school. While pursuing my MBA, I continued to write screenplays, but always wanted to write novels as well. I finished graduate school back in the year 2014, but wrote screenplays until I began thinking of my first short film, first First Day Fears. While finishing my fifth feature length screenplay, I started to write my first novel this year. So far, I have finished my first short film and working on my next one (Freedomless Speech), and recently self published my first novel (The Boy Who Could Talk To God) and short stories book (Faheem Jackson Short Story Collection Volume 1). My feature length screenplays have been put on temporary hold to finish my short films and books, but I am making good progress on my sixth feature length screenplay. With year 2017 ending, I am currently writing my novel Precinct 86 and Faheem Jackson Short Story Collection Vol. 2. I have started teaching myself photography since 2018, along with my videography, podcast later on, and more research for my filmmaking.
