FOR LOVE: SHOULD YOU QUIT A JOB FOR YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER

“Which one means more to you?”

for the one you love

Here is the question for today, and that is would you choose a significant other over your career? A lot of people in today’s society would say that this is something that is a big mistake. But if you talk to people from a different generation they might say otherwise. And the reason for this change in society today would have to be because no one want to depend on the next person for anything. And also, there is the idea that what if the relationship does not work itself out. Then you are stuck thinking in your mind why didn’t I take that opportunity that came my way that was turned down prior.

bad decisions

Just understand something people about giving up your career for someone you love. Things have been known to happen, and the problem with this is that you’re stuck in a bad situation. So let it be known that you have to have a backup plan before you decide to give up opportunities. Because people tend to change over time and you don’t want that regret thought in your mind. On the hand, it could workout for you in the end. You could actually find someone that might make you feel a certain way that it’s worth it.

make the move, drop the career

It can hurt some people, but staying for someone and leaving the gig could prove to be beneficial if the person is worth it. Some people might call you crazy for choosing a person over the career, and yes, it is dice, but if it works out, it could be better than the gig. For those that don’t have great relationships, they may encourage otherwise. You just have to do hat is in your best interest not other people looking to get involved.

FALLING OFF: HOW TO RECOVER FROM A JOB SETBACK

Image result for job loss

“Anyone hiring?”

i need a job

Whenever you have a setback in life, it can difficult to recover. But nothing is more difficult to recover from, besides an illness, than losing your job. Because you can’t just walk into an establishment like decades ago and find one. You have to really do some serious searching, especially today with such a high percentage of jobs being referrals. You have to reach out to every contact you have ever had in life to see if they can help you. And that is because the average person who loses their job will be homeless in less than a month. Why, well it’s because the majority of people live paycheck to paycheck. So what do you do because I have never lost my job, but I have had real setbacks.

getting back to yourself

How do you get back into position so you can be back to where you should be. And that could take a lot of mental evaluation on your behalf. Because once you lose your job, there is a confidence hit that you take. Your internal self is not right, so you have a hard time getting back up. But at some point you have to get back up, otherwise you will get into a rut and never go anywhere. So find some way to gain that inner confidence and strength so you don’t too down on yourself where you cannot recover.

your side hustle

If you ever get back on your feet, it is important you try to have a little extra income outside your day job. This can be thrown into a savings account and never touched unless you need it. Now this is easier said than done, but we are not in the time of our parents and grandparents. Jobs are a lot more hard to come by.

NOT THERE YET: HOW TO DEAL WITH NOT BEING WHERE YOU WANT TO BE

Man in Blue and Brown Plaid Dress Shirt Touching His Hair

“In the paradigm we feel failed.”

where am i at the moment

Ever get the feeling that you should be further in your career than you are at the moment? There is something holding you back and you can’t seem to get where you want to be. This is a feeling that so many people deal with on a daily basis. Trying to figure out why their lives are not in better places. And the biggest mistake we make a lot of times is comparing ourselves to the lives that other people have. The reality is, you shouldn’t want the lives others have, fight for the one you want instead. But it’s hard especially when you are young to grasp this concept. Because no matter your age, there is someone bigger than you in your position at your young age. And you must learn that when they are young, this an exception to the rule and not the standard.

not putting in enough

Work those mental muscles and stretch your mind further than you are stretching it now. This is something that takes a lot of time to master. And when I say time, I mean years of work. I am pursuing a career as an author/screenwriter. You have to know that this is a lifetime journey of ups and downs. If you want to be successful overnight then you’re going to have a problem. Because you hear nothing comes overnight, and that is true. It’s a cliche, yet the time put in means trying to make sense of the world around you so as to tell a story no one has told before. OR it could mean writing a similar story, but from a different point of view.

seeing the less talented prevail

There are the groups of people who slip through the cracks and become over the top successful without putting in much work. We look at them and can’t for the life us figure out why they have a platform. And should they or shouldn’t they is up for debate. But what I will say is this, most people who slip through the cracks don’t sustain over the long haul. They eventually fall off because they have never had to build through the adversity. Meaning we all have some point where we fall and have to get up. This is where they don’t get up because they never had to go through the bullshit. So they get stuck and enough time goes by where we think to ourselves where they went.

CHOICES THAT SOUND GOOD: WHEN CHOOSING A CAREER BECAUSE THE LOOK OF IT

Black and Gray Photo of Person in Front of Computer Monitor

“It just fits.”

why we work

So many people in America attain their jobs just because of the title alone. And you reading this post could potentially be that person. So what are my thoughts on people who have careers just because it sounds like a good thing to pursue. For me, I don’t really have a view on the matter as it pertains to criticism. I just hope you have realized that the decision you just made is very long term. So don’t make a now decision for life because your life really is predicated on what you do for a living. And if you do have a career that hopefully you can make a change, you do so before you retire never doing anything I actually love.

making others proud

Everyone want to be able to look at their child and say my kid graduated from medical school. My kid is now successful attorney at a well-known law firm. But no parent walks around bragging on the fact that their child a sanitation worker or mailman. But why, they are making an honest living and taking care of their families. It’s because parents like the idea of how it is received by others in society. So the kid does what the parent want and pursue their career. Only problem is, they will resent what they do if not happy. Or, they become dissatisfied and turn their frustration on the people at their jobs. And then your child becomes the one that people despise.

money is the goal

You want to make all this money, but you have to realize that money is not the initial thing you are trying to attain. You should be trying to gain as much experience as possible that is en lieu of you making money. Because the money is not immediate, so most people give up while in it. Having the tenacity to stick it out is important. But if you don’t have the tenacity move on, stop trying to appease other people.

THEY MADE IT AND SO CAN YOU: HOW IT WAS DONE IN WORSE TIMES

Man With Hand on Temple Looking at Laptop

“The grind has yo frustrated.”

the come up is real

As you will begin to grow your career, you will run into a lot of doubts along the way. And reasons for this is because you don’t have the experience to deal with the adversity. But understand that you are not alone. Anyone that has been in you position or looked like you has had to endure the same struggle. And if hey made it through, you will as well. In a world where everything is instant, you can’t understand that, but it’s true. And what’s sad is there will be even less people in future successful than the past because we compare to others and get down on ourselves. We have to allow ourselves a period to fall and then get up.

everything is lost in a paradigm

While we are in the building stage everything seems to be a failure and not working. Today, I have not gotten much done because the greater portion of the day I have been a little less motivated. But I have managed to punch out some type of post for today’s topic. And that is how it is some days. Others days you’re rocking and rolling, but then you have the moments you have nothing to give. But since starting my blog I have close to 1,000 posts. So, in the paradigm there is nothing, but when you look at the overall big picture, there is a lot. So stop looking at the now, and look for years down the line.

learn from the down times

Take the time for when you are stuck in life to reflect on the point up to now. You have to look at life and think to yourself, how good is your life as oppose to the past. If you’re in a better space to whatever degree than the past you are making progress. And don’t worry, there are plenty of people who have been in your place and are in your place. You are not some special case, or require an accommodation.

BE PREPARED TO MOVE: GREAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE SOMETIMES FAR AWAY

Woman In Grey Shirt Holding Brown Cardboard Box

“Sometimes you gotta make the jump.”

bags all packed

You work a job, you are able to get better opportunities, only problem is that the opportunities are in another city. What happens when the next great thing is in another location? That means that now you must make a decision. Do you stay in your comfort zone? Or, do you venture out and go for the better offer? Because if you are single with no children the decision is easy. Yet having children brings into the equation something totally different. So you must be willing to make that life change if that’s what it calls for.

close far or far far

I am from Wisconsin, and moving to Chicago would have been far but close enough. Yet I chose to move to New York City which is far far. This means not coming home as much as I would like to visit. But for me, I came to the NYC for graduate school and never left. But what if I were to plan the move recently. That would be much tougher than coming here for school. Now, I am a person who likes moving to a new place, but I don’t know about trying to adjust to this city moving here now rather than when I first came. Because moving here initially, I was a lot more excited than mostly likely starting fresh now.

your city will always be there

Don’t worry too much about the city or town from which you come. The city will always be there as well as family. People get caught up in the idea of losing everything around them if they leave their comfort zone. Step outside that zone and enter a space that is unknown and you will be impressed with what you gain in life.

THERE REALLY IS AN I IN TEAM: HOW TO CONTRIBUTE TO A COMPANY AND STAND OUT

Group of People Raising Right Hand

“How to stand put in a crowd.”

the one on the team

When you are on a team and want to get a promotion for yourself, how do you stand out so that you can advance. Because when you are building and want to grow within and organization, you need to stand out. Yet how do you do such a thing with so many other people of the same mind-frame as you? Everyone, from the moment they walk into the office space, has this one thing in mind and that is climbing that ladder to the top. How is this going to pan out for you if you feel you are the one of many to make it happen?

know everyone

As you are making the rounds and knowing everyone in sight, you are going to need some type of ally. And the reason being is because you want your name to make the rounds of people that will be getting to know who you are in the office. They will speak highly of you which will then in turn aid in you being the chosen one for the promotions as time goes on. And what’s also going to happen is people will not hold as much animosity for the role being given to you. You will then also be the guy people want to impress for their chance to rise up.

stay behind

Working late nights really makes you stand out in the crowd. You show up early and leave later then everyone else. But make sure you’re doing something that requires your time and not the impression you are doing something. You don’t want to fake the part, but be the part. It’s so easy to get caught up in the idea of being what you want instead of actually doing the work. And when you are getting work done, it makes it easier to promote you forward. Once again, you need allies as much as possible for when you get in that role you have people with the least amount of resistance.

compliment don’t hate

How to kiss ass and not appear desperate. Man wouldn’t that be a great book to be written because it’s what it is. You have to be willing to compliment the work of others as much as possible. Let your work stand on its own and talk great about others. Trust and believe there will be people who reciprocate. And worst comes to worst, the people who you compliment might walk away with the promotion. But they will be told how you aided in your complementation. So guess who’s name is in the strong race for the next step up. Now is this a guarantee, no, nothing is, but you are and will be remembered moving forward.
