OFF THE BOOKS: WORKING A CASH PAYING GIG

Woman in Front of Table

“Off the clock money.”

tote money

Ever want to know how you could earn a few extra bucks outside your day job? Well, there are so many opportunities for you to make a nice bit of change. You just have to open your mind to all the possibilities that are out there. Now you might want to wonder, why get another job after you have just come from one job already. And the reality is, America is such an unpredictable country, you never know when you might lose your gig. But having the extra money does not hurt anyone. Then again there are other economic reason for one to make some extra cash on the side.

job loss fund

The majority of people in this world do not have enough money that will lay them over if they lose their job. So having that extra cash on hand does not hurt anyone. Job loss can hurt so many people not just financially, but also mentally. The confidence of people is so wrapped up in how much money they earn and what they do for a living. And when that is gone, we tend to lose so much internally. Now even though we may have side money, it can still hurt. But it feels a lot better when there is something there that will keep you going.

don’t ask, don’t tell

You got this fist full of cash, but understand that at the end of the year, you pay taxes; or no. How many people don’t report their cash earnings to the government? Because if you are already living pay check to pay check, then you are going to have an issue paying at the years’ end when tax time comes around. Now, I would never condone not paying the government, but you have to do what you have to do. If you are barely surviving, or lost your job, you are going to need every penny you’ve got. So we all say pay taxes, then you take a hit, and now you have to live. So in my opinion, survive.

FALLING OFF: HOW TO RECOVER FROM A JOB SETBACK

“Anyone hiring?”

i need a job

Whenever you have a setback in life, it can difficult to recover. But nothing is more difficult to recover from, besides an illness, than losing your job. Because you can’t just walk into an establishment like decades ago and find one. You have to really do some serious searching, especially today with such a high percentage of jobs being referrals. You have to reach out to every contact you have ever had in life to see if they can help you. And that is because the average person who loses their job will be homeless in less than a month. Why, well it’s because the majority of people live paycheck to paycheck. So what do you do because I have never lost my job, but I have had real setbacks.

getting back to yourself

How do you get back into position so you can be back to where you should be. And that could take a lot of mental evaluation on your behalf. Because once you lose your job, there is a confidence hit that you take. Your internal self is not right, so you have a hard time getting back up. But at some point you have to get back up, otherwise you will get into a rut and never go anywhere. So find some way to gain that inner confidence and strength so you don’t too down on yourself where you cannot recover.

your side hustle

If you ever get back on your feet, it is important you try to have a little extra income outside your day job. This can be thrown into a savings account and never touched unless you need it. Now this is easier said than done, but we are not in the time of our parents and grandparents. Jobs are a lot more hard to come by.

YOU’RE FIRED: HOW TO BOUNCE BACK FROM UNEMPLOYMENT

Full Length of Man Sitting Outdoors

“Where to go from here.”

your last day

You show up to work, but little do you know, it is your last day. You have no other job, no income, no way of paying your bills. This is something that no one is able to foresee nor prepare for in life. And to add to it, most people don’t have enough money in savings to hold themselves over until they find something else. So the average person is in the street after a short period of time with no income coming into the household. Me myself, I have never been long without a job. And I was a college student, so I had at least student housing.

whose at fault

We have to let you go is something we want to hear. And the first thought that goes through our minds is, was this personal. And if it were, then why was it so personal. And to be honest, most people are not let go from their jobs because it was a personal decision. The reason being, is that companies like to have a legitimate reason because they want to avoid lawsuits. But most places are letting people go from downsizing in the organization. This is typical, and if you work long enough you will experience downsizing some point in your career. Hopefully it’s not you.

what next

Now that you are out of work what is your next move? I guess this is the reason people have more than one income. Now, most people don’t, but that is my move. To go out into the world and build multiple streams of money coming into the house. This way it leaves my options open to continue to have money coming in, in the event I lose my night job. But this is a skill that takes time because making a consistent income on your own takes a while. Too bad most people never take the initiative to do so.

YOU’RE FIRED: HOW TO COPE WITH LOSING YOUR JOB

Full Length of Man Sitting Outdoors

“What to do?”

let go

Have you ever been let go from a job that you held? How did it make you feel being told you were no longer needed for a role working? I myself have never been let go of a job per se. And when I say per se, I mean I have worked for a seasonal/temp position where I was no longer needed anymore. But that is a minimal feeling compared to someone who is working a full-time career and get fired. You had a lot people lose employment in 2007, 2008, and 2009 because of an economic downturn. So what is the first step to take?

panic sets in

Our first initial reaction is to panic. Why, well because the typical person has to pay for their home, food, car insurance, car notes, medical bills, kids at home, and not too mention student loans. For me, I was a college student, so there was not too much panic, but my sister had graduated about a year to a year or so earlier. So her and her boyfriend felt the grunt of the collapse. And here is where so many people panic from the thought of having to live now. Just because the country has faltered, bills are going to keep coming. There is not this remorse from companies that want to collect, so what happens is what usually happens. People start to lose everything around them.

close networks

Reaching out is key to continuation of people close to you. These are your friends and family; the ones who are your support system to aid you in getting back on your feet. And for the people that don’t have this system of support, they find themselves sleeping in the street. But when you have that support, you’re able to maintain your sanity and rebound. And on top of all this, some form of financial savings to aid in the process doesn’t hurt either.

LOSE OF INNOCENCE: HOW ADULTHOOD ROBS YOU OF YOU

Image result for ADULTHOOD

“You lose and lose and lose; then maybe you win.”

When you’re young, everyone tells you about how adulthood will pan out, Yet it does not quite amount to the struggle when you do become and adult. You’re told you have to work to become the person you want to be. But when you’re actually working to be that person, then you see it first hand. And you start to ask questions you never thought you would find yourself asking. Questions like, “Are humans really built to work like this everyday?” “I want a one dollar McChicken from McDonald’s; you mean to tell me I need a full-time job for a one dollar sandwich?” And with all the questions you ask, hopefully you’re able to come out on top. Yet so many don’t come out on top.

So inevitably, what is lost from your climb to success. In my opinion, when all you’re doing is working, then a bit of innocence is lost. You lose some humanity, as well as you becoming a little less empathetic person. You go from caring about the loved ones around you to what’s in it for me. And that’s when even more of you is lost. But why are we like this? Well, it’s because of how man constructed society.  Humans evolved to live on this planet, but not to necessarily work all the time. But we also needed to construct the world to keep everything in order also. So part of that keeping order was building economies. And as a driver in these economies, jobs and a marketplace of buyers and sellers.

So now, society is situated around attaining a living. Yet we are not happy creatures; more stressed than anything. But we continue on because there is this held belief that there is light at the end of the tunnel. We wake up every morning giving thanks for another day on Earth. But how content are we really? Maybe this is the reason we cling on to other aspects of society, like religion or having social lives. Or even maintaining monogamous relationships. It gives a real human existence outside the hustle of our work lives. Because a vast majority of our lives is predicated on what we do for a living. So it’s tough when we don’t have anything going on outside of work.

In the end, the older we get, the more we lose ourselves. And when I say ourselves, I don’t mean our self-respect. I mean this small amount of humanity that we lose. I think this is why we sometimes place ourselves around charities. We give back because it gives us what we lose through so much struggle in life.

THE KINGDOM IS FALLING: HOW AMERICA COULD BECOME NAZI GERMANY

Image result for american congress

“If politicians don’t stand by their word, someone else will.”

We promise to build schools, create jobs, fix the healthcare problems, stop crime, and keep our borders safe. These are the same old words spoken from the mouths of politicians every election cycle. They stand in front of the podium, make promises that will never be delivered. They collect our tax dollars, then tell us to give back to our communities. Then they get elected and you never see them again. This has become all too common, but no matter how much they lie, we continue to follow them. We run out and cast our vote, then wait for things to happen. But nothing of the like transpires. They sit in their comfortable positions and retain the job until the next person comes along.

Now, I don’t know about anyone else, but this madness has to make you stop and think to yourself, “Why vote?” But is there something that could eventually take hold from all of these promises that are never delivered. What about the leadership of a person who is far more sinister than anyRelated image other leader we’ve had past of present. Everyone is going crazy over the presidential election of Donald J. Trump, but is he the real problem. In my opinion, he’s not the real threat. The real threat is the guy who may pop up next. People are getting more and more desperate. Could we see another dictator, this time rising into power in America?

Now it sounds crazy, but when people are desperate they make some pretty crass decisions. Trump was that guy people voted for out desperation. You might ask yourself, why would a country vote a man with no political experience into the White House? Because America for the longest was a leader in manufacturing. We produced automobiles that were the backbone of a nation, as well as coal and other mined minerals. But in this modern era, there is no room for this old school method of growing a nation. We are more in an automated global economy. But what happens to all those people who depended on these industrialized jobs?

I’ll tell you what happens to these people, they lose out. They don’t know how to work a computer, or build anything that is of use in this new time period. So what now, entire regions of the country, mainly the Midwest, depended on these jobs. So here is where Trump steps into the equation. He

says bring back manufacturing jobs from China, and everyone cheers. Yet they don’t understand the global economy. And if they did, they would know that this is impossible. So what happens if he can’t bring those jobs back to the country? And now you have even more desperation from people.

You would think people would rush to learn and understand the new methods. But they are so set in their ways, it’s hard to learn anything new. So what do they do, sit and wait. Hoping something will change, but it won’t. If the wrong person is able to speak, almost in a Hitler esque manner to the people, he could rise into power. Because people are starting to get that desperate, that even a fascist dictator could be leader as long as he stood by his word. And you never want people electing this type of person, just because he’s honest in speech, yet hateful in intentions.

And unlike the continent of Europe, where America and other allied forces intervened. Who would intervene into our crisis? It sounds crazy, but we also never thought Trump would be the leader of the country either. So watching him grace the stage proves people’s desperation. He in my opinionImage result for american divide is not a fascist by any stretch of the imagination. But the idea people would elect him out of desperation leads me to believe we are heading in that direction. And in the end, that’s my discomfort. We like to say oh well, people have to adjust to the new changes in America. But if they can’t and stand behind someone not in the nation’s best interest, we may all suffer.
