HUMAN ARRIVAL: HOW DID WE AS PEOPLE COME TO BE

“From the past into the present.”

the beginning

The scientific theory is that man started to evolve some 315,000 years in the continent of Africa. And from that point ventured out into the world coming in contact with all types of obstacles along the way. But eventually we have made our way to today and continue to evolve. Now, this does not go without criticism from people of deep religious faith who believe otherwise. But the academic belief still holds strong in our society. And these two opposing side have been at odds for hundreds of years. Even in the past people lost their lives, one in particular Galileo Galilee who challenged the churches views on the Earth.

theory based on what

Where do these theories come from, or better yet, how do scientist really know for sure how many came about? One of their ways that they observe is through observation of creatures from all different walks of life. Then from watching what we are as a creature we try to figure out the closest species. And what they have come up with that is closer to man is the idea that we broke away at some point from our ape cousins. Well, where does this come from? Through the fact that we share a 99% strain with apes. Because there is a reason why we have for so long tested apes when trying to figure out the cures for diseases in humans. When you’re dealing with a creature only 1% different then you have a lot to stand on.

continuous process

Are we still evolving, and the answer is yes. Well how do we know if man is still evolving? The reasons being that we make leaps and bounds with technological advancement. This will inevitably cause the human brain to expand, thus new creations made on Earth. Which is a form of evolution. Because the idea that we were in horse drawn wagons then cars then planes is a testament to the evolution jumps. Now we have rovers in space on the Moon and on Mars. So, to an extent the idea that we as humans evolve continuously exist, but at what time do we stop evolving? Will we ever hit a point where we just can’t know anymore. There is an end to everything; a finite amount of anything. Our universe has a time in which it will expand beyond limits. So will our minds reach a point to stop expanding.

THE NEW US: IS THERE A SPECIES STILL EVOLVING THAT WILL RIVAL US IN TIME

“We fight now, but might need each other later.”

evolving

The debate is open on human evolution. But what is more intriguing to me is what if there is another species evolving later, like now. What if another species is evolving and we could potentially be competition for them. How would humanity fair in a world where we are now the hunted and something else or someone else is the hunter? That would mean that we are now forced to come together to fight something that we have in common that is a detriment to our species. How would this likely effect us even if we were to be able to defeat the common enemy?

cooperation

Man ventured out and over time reintroduced ourselves not knowing how we left to start with in history. Meaning when man left Africa into Europe, once the two sides met again, one took on a totally different look than the original. So to the opposing sides they were hostiles, but were really distant family. Problem with another species competing with man, is that all that we have ever experienced must be set aside for cooperation. How do you cooperate in a world that made you feel as if you were fighting each other over something important. So, we would actually be prey for a while before we realized we were being hunted because we have fought each other for so long.

forms of evolved species

We seem to think that species has to be human in form to overtake us. But we are in a different form than the food we consume. So maybe the form of the species could potentially exist in a form of something close to us, a family pet. It all sounds sci-fi, but we are here why not anything else just as dominant. I guess I am thinking about this because man is not a special as we think we are; there are more powerful forces. So to think about one being the prey to a greater predator is not far fetched. Maybe not in 100 years or even 1,000 years, but how about 100,000 to 500,000 years into the future? But you’ll never get that through the minds of people until it’s too late.

LOVE COMES FROM SOMEWHERE: WHY DO HUMANS LOVE

Sweet Photo of Couple

“We got it; who put it there?”

WHAT IS IT?

What is love? Love is defined as a deep feeling of intense affection for someone, something, or some place. It can also go deeper a be a sexual attachment to someone. But don’t let the sexual part mislead you, or even the words intense affection. Because you can also love your friends and family as well. It is a feeling most learn at a very young age. We all know what it is, but in time we all learn to understand what its true meaning is really about in life. So, now my question is, where does it come from?

HOW DID IT GET THERE

The area of the brain that is associated with love is the striatum. This is also the area of the brain that becomes affected once someone abuses drugs. Which is why it’s so hard for addicts to kick their addiction. But I am not talking about where it comes from in the mind. My asking where does love come from is more of an evolutionary question? Because when we are born, we don’t know what love is, we’re taught love. Doesn’t matter if it’s our families or society. But if anything negative is implanted at an early age, or something traumatic enough happens to us, we can have that love disrupted. So is love evolutionary that we developed over time? Did someone place it there? Or is one of those, it is what is; something unexplained why we have it?

ANGLES

On one end of the spectrum we have religion and on the other end we have science. Religion states that man was created in the likeness of God, and that everything about you that makes you who you are was placed there by he who created you. Then science states that over millions of years through human evolution, you came to be who you are through a series of events that took the right mixture of everything in the environment to happen.

Religion

In the beginning of time there was the heaven and Earth. Yes, this is the religious view of what love is, God created it. Religion would say that God gave you the ability to love. Placed it within you, and the fact that you found it brings you one step closer to him. And you are to use that love for God to spread it around to others who have not yet found him. So love from this angle places a spiritual belief on the affection.

Science

The Big Bang, which laid the initial foundation for what would be life on Earth. And yes, this is now the scientific reasoning for what would lead to life then love. Science would say we had love in us already, and the ability to connect to each other as a species showed how we unlocked that love. Now, to go further, the establishing of communities, raising offspring, and building meaningful intimate relationships along with connecting as a species is what helped us thrive thus far on this planet. Scientist would state that love is evolutionary, taking on meanings and changing as time went on.

MANY CHANGES

As with religion and science, both have something in common, and that is how love evolves. Love will evolve and continue to evolve. Years ago, people were saying meeting someone online for a date was scary. But now, people are getting married from online relationships. We are deep into our mobile devices, but that will change how we love as well. More people are scoping our social media as a means to get to know you rather than speaking initially to you. So as love changes, so will our world.

TOO MUCH SELF AWARENESS: ARE WE BECOMING TOO IN THE KNOW

anatomy, biology, eye

“We were made to learn; but this much, really?”

INTRODUCTORY

The more we become aware of who we are, are we starting to see humanity become more and more depressed? Are we hitting this point where we are so in the know that it’s bringing people down? Because if you are a science buff, then you have reason to believe that people are not going anywhere special after death. And if that is to be held as factual over time, then how will that fair with man knowing that this is it? Or, are we going to see the complete opposite? People may become more empathetic once we fill that this is it for us on Earth.

EVIDENCE

Graphical chart

The chart below shows the science of the way in which humanity has evolved in the mind over time.

The chart was made using the information found on the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

The information above was found from the → Smithsonian website regarding how the brain has evolved over time. The independent dots represent the different stages of human evolution, while the dots attached to lines shows what happened between that time years ago.

  • At the highest point we are at 4 – 6 million years ago when scientist stated that brain size increased giving us the ability to walk upright and make simple tools.
  • The second point shows where the brain and the body increases with respect to each other about 2 million to 800,000 years ago. At a time where we also ventured throughout the globe and came in contact with many different ways of life and survival.
  • Then the third point is represented by the lowest point; and this is where we experienced the climate change and how we as humans adapted to our surroundings as well as our interactions with each other. A time where life was unpredictable and the brain had to adjust; 200,000 to 800,000 years ago.

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

All of this information we have and will have in the future means that once we continue to experience shifts and changes in climate and our relationships with each other grows, so will our brains. And once you get in the know it’s impossible to go backward. But will it make people more depressed and more vulnerable? So far, we have lasted this long on Earth and we have learned and continue to learn every step of the way. So being too in the know is only scary to generations who have lived a long time on Earth and watch drastic change from when they were young. We aren’t knowing too much too soon, you are just getting old and can’t handle it, and you’re rejecting new information that you believed for so long to be false.

MENTAL EVOLUTION: HOW SHIFTING YOUR PERCEPTION AIDS IN HUMAN GROWTH

Image result for mental evolution

“Mind over bull.”

As an adult, you are able to survive in this world because your parents may have given you the basics in how to go into world with confidence and live. But what your parents can try to prepare you for, that you inevitably have to do on your own is expand your mind. Expansion of the mind has to come from the inside out, not the outside in. That human growth of the mind that will allow you to become successful in whatever career endeavor you pursue. Because I don’t care how much talent you possess, if that mind is not clean, then you’re going to have problems progressing. And what do I mean by a clean mind. I mean recontexualizing the way you see the world in the current state so that you open yourself up to new possibilities. Those who don’t open themselves up will ultimately have a harder time succeeding. It will be hard to see that growth initially because you’re living in real time, but it’s gradual.

How do I know this considering I am so young? It’s because I now understand so much more at the age of 30 then I did at 20 because I shifted my perception on the world. But what I have also learned on that path is the difference between poverty versus prosperity; happiness versus depression. And it has a lot to do with how you perceive the world. Your perceptual views are very evolutionary based, and in order to move even through the ranks of socioeconomic, you have to shift perceptions. So if you want to go from being poor to building a life in the middle class, you can’t think the same way as you do when you are poor. There is a shared mind-frame of those that are poor that allows some to climb and others never to leave their position. And it’s because of the previous statement the ones who don’t leave poverty can’t connect to you.

Meaning, let’s say you are a lottery winner, and you win $1 million. A poor person runs out and buys a nice home and car, while the middle class person pays off their current home, and invest the rest in their children (if they have any), otherwise they safely invest in the market. Now, unlike the poor or even the middle class person, upper class understand that in context of this machine that is America, $1 million is so small. So they reinvest everything back in the system. But if you are poor and can’t understand why people win, that’s why. It’s not a conspiracy, they reinvest more than they spend. They put themselves in the know of whatever it is they want to attain. But that in itself all boils down to how your mind works and what you’re willing to open your mind to learn out here in the world.

In the end, the only way for your mind to grow is to open yourself to new ways of thinking. You have to epitomize what is evolution: a shift from what is simple to what is complex. Even in regards to household income, shift from simple to complex. That does mean going from poverty to prosperity is simple to complex, it simply means if you have found a way to go from poverty to the middle or even upper, you have defeated a statistical odd that said you couldn’t. So numbers in your case lie because you harnessed a skill to make this life work for you. So you have evolved, and you will continue to evolve.

THE EVOLUTION OF MAN: HOW DO WE PHYSICALLY ADAPT

Related image

“How are we adjusting moving forward?”

We are always hearing about how in the future technology will be at such a scale. Well, what about the idea of human evolution physically. I have heard numerous reports of how the human species will advance in our physical appearance in addition to technology. This makes sense considering technology is getting better. All it means is that our minds are expanding, giving rise to our heads growing because our brains are growing. And when that happens, you will have the entire facial structure taking on a new look. Meaning, our bodies will also take on another form. And this is not in the distant future. This physical change is likely to happen over the course of the next 50, 100, 200 years. When you observe the evolution of man, 200 years is not a long time. The United States as a country is not even 200 years old yet. So what other factors could possibly take place with this change?

You are going to have a less religious society; one that is more human centralized. One in which man will be forced to help each other because we will know more about ourselves. Depending on a deity is most likely to decline. In the centuries past, we needed to walk and drive more, but not in the future. So our awareness will be heightened in other areas because we will have technology to scale to transport us around. And when one sense is lowered another gets stronger. Meaning, when we are driving a car, our minds are constantly moving trying to figure out space around our vehicles. The car has made us extra sensitive because you’re watching so much at one time. But with self-driving vehicles in the future, you’ll watch less of the road, and more of the outside world. And here is where your mind can focus on ideas as you take your daily commute. The mind can be a lot more expansive.

The human body will be able to live longer, not just because of modern medicine, but because of less labor intensive activity. Well, at least for more developed nations. Places like the United States, where numbers of population will shrink due to cost of living, and technology on the rise, the strenuous work on the body is decreased. And from this you have an aging population, where the average age of people in America today is 78, and will jump higher over a century from now. With everything that I have said so far, the human body will also evolve in how we perceive the world around us. With the brain expanding our eyes will take in a lot more than prior. You start to see life around in color and shape different than your ancestors. Images may appear in a totally different shape, and we may build to scale at a higher level.

Humans over time will also become healthier due to previous studies. We are not carnivores, but have had to eat meat as a means to feed so many people; it’s survival. So with this diet change, the body could also take another form as well. Well at least in more developed countries where people are more health conscious. In the end, as with all the technological changes, we also have to talk about the changes to the human body. The technology is growing to scale because of the changes we are going through internally. We’re getting smarter, we’re getting softer, we’re becoming less religious, yet more compassionate. We won’t be in a Utopian society, but at every level we do learn from past mistakes to become greater in the future.

ARTS OF THE HUSTLE: THE GRIND OF MAKING A LIVING FROM YOUR CRAFT

Person in Pink T Shirt Holding Brown Electric Guitar Walking on Blacktop Road during Daytime

“You might be starving, but you’re working toward something greater?”

The life of an artist is rough, but if you have something great, you have to keep going strong. But it’s tough when there are so many people, especially those in your age range, who are doing much more than you at the moment. Even though that’s not saying much, it’s still more than what you’re doing. But you can’t compare what you are doing to what they are doing. Your grind, your climb, your road to success is a lot different than them. And you have to embrace the journey along the way. Yet along that journey, there are some things you need to keep in mind as you are climbing toward your goals as an artist. You should always keep your day job in lieu of your craft, be prepared to sacrifice, learn to listen to those worth listening to, embrace the rough periods, put in the time & ready yourself, and know when you’re getting better.

The first bit of advice I have regarding keeping your day job is practical. Don’t just up and quite your job because you are pursuing your craft. I myself work two part-time jobs that subsidize my living while I pursue screenwriting/filmmaking. I have worked jobs ranging from retail to administrative, ushering concerts to small theatre roles. You take on every gig you can take in order to make room for you to stay working at your craft. Which also ties into the next bit of advice. You should also be prepared to sacrifice a lot along your journey. You will have to sit by and watch your enjoying their youth and building intimate relationships. Meanwhile, you’re building slowly while they live. And to add to it, there is no guarantee you’ll succeed. So you just grind away in pain, all the while you neglect aspects of your youth just to push forward in something you love.

And with so much sacrifice that comes with building your dream, you will have the nay-sayers. These are the people who will tell you to give up and quite. They’ll tell you to go and find something better else to do rather than build your dream. They will project their fears onto you because they see you doing something that they can’t accomplish. So to them you must not know what you’re doing. Because why would they be doing what they’re doing. In a very passive way they’re telling you not only are you no good, but you couldn’t possibly be better than them. And on top of the people rooting against you, there are the rough periods that will come along with the climb. These are the times of rough mental and economic obstacles. And what do I really mean by these rough obstacles? Well here is what I mean.

When you’re going through all these rough periods in life, it makes you realize certain aspects about yourself. You first realize how easy it truly is to live alone. You are afraid of being alone, but once you realize the people in your corner versus those that aren’t, it makes the times when you are doing well worth cutting people off. You also learn that along the way, you can live with a lot less than you thought you could at first. For me, I grew up in a poor household, so I thought the only way for me to be well off was to be very rich. Then I realized the real amount of money I would minimally need to make to live. Then pursuing my dream became much easier to fight for in life. And the reason why I have not lost hope is because I have been able to live off the bare necessities, but I also put the time into my work.

And putting the time in is very important. People talk about their craft, yet they barely work at doing what they say they want to do. You have to put yourself in position to make things happen to you. Put yourself in harms way and see what transpires out of the work. Then when you do get your big break, you have prepared yourself to jump right in. Like the old formula of life, opportunity + preparation = successful outcomes. And all of what I have said prior must be coupled together with an understanding of knowing when you’re getting better. Reach out to people and get feedback on your work. And don’t just ask friends and family; ask people with no real attachment so you know how people really feel. Family and friends will always cosign, yet the people will be honest. And in the end, put your soul into whatever it is you do. Even with no guarantee of success; know that you can fail and fall flat on your face but you do it anyways.
