MOUNT ST. HELEN MOVE ASIDE: WHEN WILL YELLOWSTONE EXPLODE ONCE AGAIN

art, boiling, eruption

“The explosion could be catastrophic.”

the mount not a mount

Yellowstone National Park is located in Wyoming, with parts of it in Montana and Idaho. The park is famous for its volcanic hot spot where smoke can be seen pouring from the center. The hot spot is what we call a super volcano, one that is so powerful that it could cause cataclysmic damage felt over the country, and in other parts of the globe. And what’s crazy is that the volcanic spring is well overdue for a blast. A side note to that is that the odds of it blowing at anytime is one in 730,000. Yet the fear still lingers there in the back of our minds.

immense damage

The reason the eruption is so damaging is because of the ash cloud that could linger over the country. The eruption, according to an article posted on the → live science website, could send ash clouds as far as southern most tip of Florida. Something this powerful could effect climate and send us into a spiral. Leading to famine, drastic temperature rises and falls, along with devastating crop lost. The climate shift of the country could last for as long as a decade. From the live science website below is a picture of the effects of the ash cloud.

history’s worse

The biggest eruptions in history are as listed below due to their catastrophic effects in time:

  1. Yellowstone (640,000 years ago)
  2. Huaynaputina (1600)
  3. Krakatoa (1883)
  4. Saint Maria Volcano (1902)
  5. Novarupta (1912)
  6. Mount Pinatubo (1991)
  7. Ambrym Island (50 A.D.)
  8. Ilopango Volcano (450 A.D.)
  9. Mt. Thera (1610 B.C.)
  10. Changbaishan Volcano (1000 A.D.)
  11. Mt. Tambora, Sumbawa Island (1812)

So the question still remains, there was already a blast along with others in the world. But the greatest is still Yellowstone which as I said earlier is overdue for another explosion. And as man lives our lives consumed with political and social strife. Little do we know the dangers lurking beneath our feet that could kill every one of us in America. Or leave millions with long lasting health effects.

SORROW: WHY DO WE HAVE HURT AND PAIN AS HUMANS

adult, art, conceptual

“It’s there since birth, but why?”

sorrows

Humans are endowed since birth with a lot of emotions. Emotions that I can’t explain as to why we have them, but we do. And sorrow is one of those emotions that we have as people. Why were we given an emotion such as sorrow? How does this aid us in our existence on this planet. Because everything we are born with in our lives serve as some type of purpose for our survival in the beginning of time. So in having the emotion to feel sorrow, pain, hurt, and dejection; where did it come from in the beginning?

early on

As humans evolved into the beings that we are today, there are things that have aided in our further existence. As I said before in other post, there are families that will never be known because for whatever reason they fell off. Whether it was not having offspring, or taking part in some activity that ended their lives. But emotions gave us the ability to feel compassion, and animal, bigfoot, evolutionmainly for one another. Even though there was tribal fighting because as man ventured out we would eventually find our way back to other early humans. That’s when hostility arose, but once hostility died down some more, man would procreate even with those seen as different. Civilizations stronger arose, and the reason for further compassion became paramount.

maintaining sorrow

As time progress, we not only continue to have sorrows, but we have also used sorrow to take on other meanings. Sorrow also can mean happy just as much as it means to be hurt. We show sorrow when our kid takes their first steps, graduate from college, and get married. We have found ways to channel our hurt into happiness so that tears that form in the eyes come out of fulfillment. And we are becoming more of a global community with each passing year. Who knows, man might eventually become a one nation species. Not in 10 years or even 100 years, but who knows in 1,000 years.

GONE FOR GOOD: HOW WILD ANIMALS COULD BECOME SOMETHING OF THE PAST

Lion and Lioness Under White Sky during Sunset

“The pride is dying off.”

animal kingdom

It is known that 99% of all living creatures have already died off on Earth. And the fact that humans exist mean we are in that 1% still alive. So where do we go from here because animals themselves are constantly being poached for serving all sorts of uses. Gorillas, lions, and elephants are very profitable to sell. But when the animals die off, then our natural life that we love to see goes with it. Yes, we have sanctuaries and zoos, but that is not enough. There are still just too many wild animals that are dying off.

swift action

There have been measures to protect certain animals tat have become victimized. In the African country of the Sudan there is only one male white rhino left on Earth. And seen below there are guards protecting the white rhino 24 hours a day to make sure poachers don’t kill either. And these are not the only animals being protected in this manner. These animals like the white rhino are Related imageso valuable because of the ivory that is in the horns. As you see from the photo, the soldiers actually removed the horn to make the rhino less attractive for poachers, But that removal might taken the confidence away from the rhino which now needs to breed with the only few females left to keep the population going.

the masses involvement

How can people get involved? Well, there are sanctuaries all over the globe that will take in these animals. But how do you make people want to get involved and care? So many of us live our lives wondering how will we eat at night. The last thing we’re worried about is the last white rhino. If it has nothing to do with our survival we don’t care. But I think it’s because the animal is a lion or elephant we care less. It this were animals domesticated like cats and dogs, we tend to care more. These animals have become members of the family so we have a closer attachment. yet, if we don’t stop the death of so many others, including the ones we consume, then the dinosaur won’t be the only animal in the museums for display.

CONSCIOUS US: THE BUILDING BLOCKS BEHIND WHY WE HAVE ONE

Image result for CONSCIOUS

“Into the brain mechanics.”

what is it

Having a conscious is something that is baffling on so many levels. And those of you who are unfamiliar with what is a conscious. A conscious is the ability to have the understanding of the world around you, to be awake. Now, in today’s society, people throw that word around so freely its pitiful. But how many people are truly awake. But that was a question for last month’s topic of the mind. This is the science behind why we have a conscious and how it works. So how does it work and why do we have one?

the mechanics of the mind

The small illustration below shows the mechanics of how man uses the conscious in our initial stage of life on this planet. We have a problem we have to solve, but in order to solve that problem we must be able to seek out a way to fix the problem. So in the beginning of time man had rain coming down. In order to keep from getting wet, man sought refuge in places that didn’t have rain entering. This was the place of man’s immediate home for living. And just like that, we started our path to what would be today. So the explanation is quite straight forward for how it works. Problem/Obstacle → theories to deal with problem → find a solution to the problem → problem solved → continue to enhance understanding for future problems.

why we have one

Why do we have one? We have one because it is the reason that has kept us alive for so long. Without being able to understand the sudden changes, certain obstacles placed before us, we would have died off. And from this we developed a communication link to keeping others from falling victim. And from there we started to develop language, and from there on we can build off of more to create working civilizations. The conscious also aids us in helping others because we could see ourselves in that same position. So we have one to continue to exist. The moment we become less aware, we become slaves to our own vulnerability.

GOD PARTICLES: HOW SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS EFFECT BELIEFS

Image result for GOD PARTICLES

“The hurt of this is it.”

the burden of proof

Throughout history science has changed changed and shaped so much of how we live today. But as the science gets better and better, so does the decline in religious beliefs. And why is that? Why is it that something like religion that has stood the test of time become at risk of failing. We would like to think that it is social issues, but it’s not. The world has always, and will always have social problems. But the strength of science is a threat because science is more than just trying to trace the age of man and our world. It’s our food, our medicine, our relationships, and our mental stability. Man’s curiosity via science has gotten us into trouble and has aided us also in living longer.

factors in change

There are quite of few things that could change as a result of the science replacing the beliefs in our society.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • In a society with limited to no religion we are seeing the effects of relationships today. It was a tradition for a man to approach a woman’s mother and father first before asking her on a date. You waited until you were married to have sex, and fewer children were out of wedlock. Once the beliefs in religion diminish, you start to see no parental intervention in the child’s choice of dating. More sexual relationships that don’t lead to marriage, and single parent households climbing. Like I said, we are seeing this already.Image result for app dating
FOOD
  • What I find interesting is that the belief is leaving, but the food we eat and how biblical text says man should eat are eerily similar. Now the reasons for them can be slightly different. You have religion that says the body is a temple and nonreligious people say it’s a temple. Only difference is that nonreligious people feel that the body is a temple for longevity and health and belongs to us. While religion feels that the body belongs to God, and you should care for it as he would want you to.

EDUCATION
  • The way we learn in school could change drastically because for the longest we have had freedom of religious beliefs. But the way science interprets the world around us, it becomes harder and harder to focus in institutions. The Big Bang Theory is just that, a theory; and as long as something remains a theory it is up for debate. No matter how strong the argument, but the moment it becomes the Big Bang Theory Truth, that’s when people beliefs are in limbo.

audience, auditorium, chairs

QUALITY OF LIFE
  • As with all the changes in society, how will ones quality of life be effected. Because for the longest the held belief is there is something awaiting after life. But without the idea of an afterlife, could it bring people down to know this is it? Because there is this motivation to do good since there is to be something after you die. Yet when you only have this and your this, like a lot of people is an awful existence, where are you left. So most don’t want to entertain the idea of a this is it, while so many others love their lives and can accept the end.

Person Standing on Hand Rails With Arms Wide Open Facing the Mountains and Clouds

a life without your belief

What would a life look like with just pure science and other beliefs. This would mean that the average human lives to be 78 years with the notion that this is it. It would mean that a reason to live in the moment becomes a lot more important than to actually build in society. Because why build if there is nothing after this. You should just sit back and enjoy life. Why work, why contribute to society? Sure it helps the next generation, but most people don’t like their jobs and/or lives. So, there is a benefit to maintaining religious beliefs. Because humanity is still as fragile as we were eons ago.

THE BIG COLLIDE: WHEN WILL THE NEXT ASTEROID HIT

Image result for ASTEROID

“When it hits, that’s it.”

The Destruction

The video below is of an asteroid hitting Earth and the possible destruction. Asteroids are left over rocks from the beginning of the solar system some 4.6 billion years ago. There is an asteroid belt that is found between Mars and Jupiter. Earth is constantly in the path, but the ones that near us break apart into meteorites. Now these cause meteorites cause massive property damage each year, but few people die in comparison to what could happen from an asteroid.

Let’s Observe Strike Zones

The below photo is of the planet and the anticipated points where the major asteroids hit the planet. In the United States, the major hit zone was in Arizona, which occurred roughly 50,000 years ago, which created the Barrington meteorite crater. There is the Yucatan Peninsula hit that took place about 65 million years ago. The Argentina collide took place 3.3 million years ago, and in another part of the world two more hits. One being the 1908 crash which took place in Siberia and the other in China in the year 1490.

When Will It Happen Again

There is only a matter of time before the big one hits us again. But that is unlikely to happen as most don’t come within hundreds of thousands of miles and go off into space. But we can never be too sure. Good thing about a lot of these asteroids is that other planets are in the pathway as well. Planets without people on them that could serve as a buffer in case of any real threat. So, it would be sad to have to sacrifice a planet, but it is what it is. Better Jupiter or Mars take the hit than our planet.

UTILIZING LAND: PAYING UNUSED LAND OWNERS IN POOR COUNTRIES TO GROW CROP

Related image

“We feed more for less, and build a nation in the process.”

The Working Poor

We are living in a modern civilization, yet we still have so many nations around the world that are underdeveloped. These are countries where populations still live like people did few hundred years ago. Countries that extend from African nations, throughout Asia, and across the Pacific Ocean to the Americas. Even though the United States has a poverty level, we still are in a country where you can elevate from poverty to a better life. In some nations, you are born poor and that’s it for you. Now, my question for the topic today is, “Can we lease lands in these poor nations to grow a multitude of crop, lower the cost of fruits and vegetables, yet bring a nation up in the process.

Fertile Land Not In Use

So much land in the world is not in use that could be used for growing crops. And what must be done so that this land can be utilized? This is not the 1300’s when people used to ride on horseback and take land. There are governmental measures in place where things cannot happen. Which is another reason for the holdup of using land for growing. But, let’s say for instance we are able to work around the bureaucracy that is the systems of the world. What can be done with the land we have on Earth that no one uses? The graph below shows how much land we use as humans on Earth. And a lot of that land is in these underdeveloped countries. As for land that can be used to farm, the majority is concentrated in the Americas and Africa.

Subsidy For Farmers – Africa

Africa is a place that could grow crop in mass for business. And for some reason, the governments are not utilizing enough of this land. What could work is the government creating a subsidy program for people to grow their own crops and sell outward. Meaning, those who qualify, would be able to grow crop and those that want to conduct in business could reach out for a chain of commerce. For example, there is a designated amount of land for farming. Qualifying people who can contribute to the nation, that show they have the skill to do so, could farm. Now granted, a lot of these individuals are poor, the government could lease out this land to those with the best skills. So as they make money, they pay the government out the pot. And in order to generate revenues, for themselves, sell harvest to nations like the United States. You would decrease poverty by creating jobs in these countries, and America could lower the cost to our own consumers. Because with the world heading in the direction it’s going, people are running out of land, and their sights are set on these nations. And if Africa won’t use it, these countries will, to build their own nations.

HUMAN REPRODUCTION: HOW DID THE FIRST HUMANS KNOW SEX LED TO MORE PEOPLE

Image result for human reproduction

“How did we figure it out?”

reproduction

Upon ejaculation the sperm enters the vagina and sticks to the walls. There is no guarantee that the sperm will get her pregnant, but for the sake of the topic let’s say she does. Of the millions of sperm that make the destination, only one will fertilize the egg. And once that happens, over the course of 9 months a baby is born into the womb of a woman. Then, when it’s time, a child will be brought into this world. That child will grow and most likely give life, thus the continuation of the human chain of existence. Now my question is, how did the first humans manage to make it happen?  How did the first people manage to know that sex would create a human? What was the thing that they attempted which made them engage in sex.

accidental intercourse

What if we found out about sex by accident? Maybe we were trying to figure things out as humans would today, and stumbled upon procreation. The discovery of anything has come by way of accident. Human arousal is the same as any other mammal. And yet we tried numerous ways to cope with this sense of arousal. As with a monkey placing a stick in a hole to try to worm out ants, that is an accident in itself. You see this being of the opposite sex, not understanding why we feel a certain way, we test things out. The sense of touch has aided man in figuring out a lot. But once they figured out that intercourse not only created humans, but brought about pleasure, it became paramount to our existence.

in the know

Once we became aware, it was time to expand beyond our borders into other areas. Because the curiosity about ourselves became more important. Also the numbers of us grew into greater amounts, so we moved out from which we initially dwell. But putting ourselves in the know does not only aid us in the past, but also in the future to come. And what’s crazy, there are families we will never know their existence because they didn’t figure it out and died off.

SCIENCE BEHIND HUMAN ENERGY: HOW PEOPLE BRING YOU CLOSE TO THEM OR REPEL FROM THEM

Person Gather Hand and Foot in Center

“We connect in the strangest ways.”

human energy

Ever meet someone that the moment you come across them, you instantly get connected? Or better yet, you ever meet someone and instantly get turned off by them? It’s because of the energy they give off. It doesn’t always mean they are a bad person. Like me for example, I am not someone who is approachable, but it has nothing to do with who I am as a person. But my energy is not welcoming so people get an idea about me from the behavior. Then people find out who I really am, and they say, “Oh, didn’t realize that.”

how it moves

Sir Issac Newton’s Thermal Dynamics regarding energy neither lost or destroyed, just transferred from one party to the next speaks volumes about human energy. How we transfer energy through actions and conversation is impressive. I can call someone on a telephone, who is in a happy mood. Transfer my bad mood onto them, and they leave bad, and me feeling good. We are probably wondering, what are the mechanics that make up the ability to transfer negativity on to other people. And yes, there is always a scientific explanation as to why this is able to take place.

transfer ability

For some reason, we are able to hold on to traumatic experiences longer than those that feel good. Meaning, it is hard for me to remember moments when my mother bought us gifts for Christmas, as we set around the tree opening them. But I remember the entire day of September 11th 2001. Now, granted that is on a much larger scale of something negative, even on a much smaller level we retain what’s bad, something that hurts us. We as humans are very fragile creatures. And at every turn we seek to do good and feel good. It requires work to do so, but feeling bad is easy. What takes work that is good always is hard to retain, than what you don’t want to come in contact with. So transferring negativity becomes easy because we are constantly open to the bad things. Closing yourself off is a job you have to work at. So when people bring negativity to you, it transfers easily if you have not worked hard enough at removing it from your life.

CLIMATE CONTROL: WILL WE EVER GET TO THAT POINT

aerial view, atmosphere, clouds

“Too much power for man to have.”

climate

The climate in the world is quite unpredictable, especially in today’s society. We are in the middle of the winter, and New York City has only has about 1.5 weeks of snow. So, since we are effecting the climate anyways, why not work one day to effect it in a good way. Will there ever come a time where we can effectively control the climate ourselves. Now this would mean reaching a certain level of Type Civilization that no man is risen to. Right now, we are not even a Type 1 Civilization, but controlling temperature and climate would mean well past Type 3. But what could a controlled climate mean to Earth.

upsides, but not without downsides

We think about all the good that could potentially come from having the ability to control the climate. But what about the downsides of controlling the climate? We are sitting here thinking to ourselves, “Oh man, fun in in the sun, no more winters.” But we have four seasons on this Earth for a reason. And if we could control temperature to make the seasons what we want them to be, then you’re talking rising sea levels because of melting polar ice. We already know that whole cities over the next few hundred years will be gone anyways. So what would controlling the temperature bring?

just a dream, that’s all

Now, the ideas of controlling the climate is a big dream. Because like I said earlier, we not even a Type 1 civilization yet. So to reach the scale of controlling climate, we most likely won’t reach that level. But we are doing climate control in a very ineffective way already. The burning of fossil fuels that has warmed the Earth and forcing polar ice to melt. These massive polar ices are causing rising sea levels. As well as introducing a host of potential diseases in their wake.
