PUSHBACK: HOW THE SURGE AGAINST TRUMP COULD HURT THE 2020 ELECTION FOR A PARTY

White House

“2020 is quickly approaching.”

politics

Since the election run of President Donald Trump, there has been constant protest and contest infighting. But my question is, is this good for a party? Because we have not had a politician in the United States that people have pushed against this heavy in a very long time. So what are the Republicans to do?

Image result for protest

We have been watching over the country smaller elections after Trump victory where the entire Republican party is being moved aside. So what will 2020 look like with so many people pushing against the leader of the country. It seems as if with these smaller elections, people are making other Republican candidates pay for how they feel about Trump.

personal

So, with the political decisions, you have the emotions running deep. And people have taken this moment in time to vent their personal views. And it has permeated the environment in every discussion about the president. But is it always good to have all these emotions running throughout our society?

Related image

Because when emotions are behind all the decision making we lose all logic. And even during a logical moment, we still run with the emotion at times because the social construct of America forces us to choose sides. Meaning, there are people who like the president, but will say no comment or they don’t from fear of verbal, and sometimes physical attack.

a party in peril

Now we have the question left of what will happen to a party that is being seen as untrustworthy. Could it be that Trump has dismantled a party, or has he just unwound himself? Because like I Image result for republican losingsaid earlier, a lot of Republicans have been taking loses since Trump’s election. And on top of that, an entire young generation will be voting that didn’t get their chance to vote in 2017. Also with that generation is a group that voted Obama in 2008 and 2012. So you’re talking a massive push in 2020. You could see a run bigger than Obama’s. But whoever it is, could prove a real problem for Republicans if Trump runs again.

POLITICAL SHIFT: HOW THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY COULD REIGN SUPREME ACROSS AMERICA

Image result for DEMOCRATS

“The pendulum is starting to swing.”

Since the mayoral and other council races back in November of this year, party lines have already began to show a sign of turning back blue. Some say that people are already getting fed up with the current President Donald J. Trump, and others have stated that these are places can typically swing in either direction: Democrat of Republican. Now, as it comes to no surprise places in Florida and Texas has still kept their political views going strong for the Republican party. But, when you look at the political maps across the country, you can’t help but notice that the pendulum is swinging back in the opposite direction. And what is this due to in America? Could it be that Trump supporters are getting tired of him already, or does it have to do with new voters.

There were three of age at the time Trump was elected President last year who are now 18 years old. Which may very well be the very few voters. Or, there could be the population of people that did not get involved in the general presidential election, who came out to vote. Because remember, in this past election of Donald Trump, nearly half the country didn’t vote for a president. These non-voters could now be getting involved because of their lack of initiative in the national election. And lastly, there are the people who voted Republican, who are now saying they made the wrong decision, and now want to flip sides.

Because if you observe the election percentages, you have Democrats that have won by major percentages. And yes, if you look at the major metropolitan cities, you tend to see a more Democratic win, but these are wins even in small cities and towns. So what has happened that has caused so many Republicans to lose their position in the party? Could it really be that since Trump was elected, he has caused all of the mistrust in the party? This is only his first year in office, and already, confidence could begin to be lost in a party. And with a new generation coming into the voting pool for the year 2020, the Republicans better start seeking out young people and fast. Why, well the millennials and the newly introduced Generation Z will be the majority. Two generations that have become turned off by the Conservatives on the right.

And in the end, that’s the biggest issue, is that a young generation is being shaped by a party. But not just one generation, two back-to-back generations. All the while, being turned off by the other. So if the Republicans don’t start to find ways of reaching out to young voters, then you’ll start to see a close to impossible win by Conservatives in any election whether it be city, state, or national. Because what we have is an aging declining older generation and a growing younger generation shifting to the left.

DRAINING THE REAL SWAMPS: HOW RADICALS COULD TAKE HOLD IN AMERICA

Related image

“Potential for something sinister is brewing.”

Since President Donald J. Trump was elected in the White House back in November of 2016, there has been a sharp rise in radical views. The feeling has been that he has sparked something in these groups to make them behave a certain way. Could there be some validity to the argument because he (Trump) has expressed disdain with the same people that masses have been angry with as well. Or, could the anger be over something different than the racial viewpoints coming from the news. Could it be that the feelings are coming from a place where we should be focusing our attention, instead of on the president’s language? I have a theory into the rising tension in the United States.

Yesterday was the shooting of a Republican Congressman Steve Scalise. He is currently in critical condition in a hospital, along with a few others that were assisting him as well. The shooting was targeted at Scalise because of his political affiliation. But what would prompt someone to shoot a politician in this country simply because they are of another political Related imageaffiliation? I think one of the connections is because of the disdain for leaders in this country. People have constantly expressed their anger toward politicians for not performing their duties in the manner in which they promised. People who feel they are doing their part, yet every four years, you only see politicians actively working when they are running for re-election. But, is that the only reason as to why this country is growing in radicalization; no.

Another reason tensions have been flaring up is the lose of jobs in this country. With manufacturing work being sent overseas and people becoming more and more desperate, I’m surprised there aren’t more of architecture, building, emptythese incidents like Scalise. It’s the reason why our leaders not only should assure the country that everything is going to be fine, but work to make everything fine. Because that desperation from people could easily flip into something much more sinister. You might start seeing the election of leaders who embody men of hate from the past. Do I see a Nazi regime taking hold, no. But could we still see a climb in people who teeter on that level, we most definitely could. People have been known to make some pretty crass decisions when their back are up against the wall.

But there still leaves one more reason that the tension has been growing in this country. And that reason is one that has been long standing; racial. Throughout the United States history racial issues have extended itself to African Americans fighting the dominant power source, which has historically been White males, for freedom. But what we have now in Related imageAmerica is something far different. Now the large number of White men and women are felling shutout. What’s interesting is that the majority of African Americans still struggle in the United States. So if these White men
and women feel slighted, who are they losing to in the end. Because the business environment is still predominantly White, college universities, medical field, engineering, politics, and outside of basketball and football, the vast majority of sports.

In the end, if the confidence is not placed back into the lives of the American people we could start to see radicals taking hold in our country. The Middle East won’t be the only problem on the government’s hands. People are becoming desperate and that’s the real problem. So many get upset with Trump calling him racist and gender biased. But the real hateful person is lurking and watching from afar. Yes, Trump is flawed because he’s not used to taking orders, which is something you must be willing to do as president. So Related imagehe’s shooting from the hip, causing himself to lose support. But I can’t agree with the hate aspect of people’s view on him. Yet I will say, people voted for him out of desperation. And if they will vote for him out of desperation, how long before real threats present themselves into our society. Moving forward, he need to stop delving so much into petty behavior and the citizens have to work with our leader, otherwise draining the swamp will be draining to sewer, but in reference to radicals and not politicians. Because at this moment that sewer is becoming clogged with raw sewage looking to present themselves.

FRIENEMIES OF AMERICA: WHEN YOUR ALLIES MIGHT ALSO YOUR ENEMIES

Image result for GENTRIFICATION

“Ever get the feeling they hate as well?”

The United States have always been a place of constant conflict. No matter if it were related to ethnicity, religion, or gender. We have had these various social issues going back to when this land was under the control of Great Britain. But in today’s society the issues have been just as social, and directed at our new commander in chief. Since Donald J. Trump was elected president, there have been constant protest against him. The most recent controversy was last week when comedian Kath Griffin was pictured with a headless bloodied-face Trump. She has not only lost her CNN New Years Eve gig, but also a few sponsorships. But, pertaining to the people who dislike him, you ever get the feeling they are dishonest as well.

And when I say dishonest, I mean as it pertains to the same reasons they dislike the president. Trump is disliked for a number of reasons, but a few stick out the most: racial, gender, and religious. So are the people who hate him for these reasons, are themselves against the very groups that they accuse him of not liking. I pride myself on being a little more liberal than conservative, but I get the feeling the liberals are no different. I get the feeling that these liberals dislike Trump because they are afraid of their own disdain for groups poking through. What do I mean by their own held feelings about certain groups.

Well, for starters, the racial aspect of America. And when I say racial, I am obviously not pertaining to the human race, but more so how we use racial socially. You have these liberals that don’t like Trump, yet they are gentrifying Black and Latino areas, moving out groups. They are not built on keeping people and preserving culture. They remove the current culture, and adopt their own in the name of cool or trendy. Like changing the name of parts of Harlem to SOHA or Washington Heights NYC to Upper Manhattan. Yet these are the people with anti-Trump signs. They can’t see that they are the same as him, maybe even worse. They attack him for language, but their actions are far more detrimental.

What about the religious angle people on the left try to take. He is seen as xenophobic as it pertains to Muslims. But when I walk into the airport, even before Trump ran for president, people get uncomfortable with Muslims. And when I say uncomfortable, I mean the attire they sport. Mainly how the women are expected to dress. But the moment he comments on it, people get upset. But when I see the discomfort from people, it throw me off because he is supposed to be the xenophobic one. Not the liberals, they should embrace the diversity of people. Yet, there is something that is triggered when Muslim women and men are around wearing traditional garb. But what about the gender conversation?

In the United States, gender has always been a debate. But when Trump was caught in conversation regarding women, it became that much more controversial. It even prompted women in fashion to not sit next to his daughter Tiffany because of him. But then I started to think, don’t the fashion industry get criticized each year for campaigns that place unrealistic physical expectations on young women. Or the fact that they push against the use of women like Ashley Graham, a plus size model, on ad campaigns. That hypocrisy is something they have to be willing to shift as well. Can’t attack him, and continue to push into young women’s minds that they are not good enough because their bodies don’t look a certain way.

In the end, you are going to always have people who tell you not to do something, that they do themselves. We all use the excuse, “You’re held to a higher standard.” And that is true, but you’re also held maybe not to that equal standard level, but more so to that standard obligation. Meaning you shouldn’t be doing it, but he really shouldn’t be doing it. So on a scale of one to ten, he is a ten, but you’re still like a two or three. Don’t use someone else’s standard as a means to be rude yourself. If you feel he hates Muslims, don’t get uncomfortable around Muslims for that same reason. Attack is meant for things that he does that we don’t deem acceptable. Because a leader represents your country. Yet, if we are just as uncomfortable as Trump, he actually does represent the sentiment of the nation.

MEMORANDUM: WHY WE SHOULD APPRECIATE OUR TROOPS

Related image

“Stand with them, not just for them.”

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, which is the celebration for our men and women who wear the uniform of our armed forces. The men and women who perform a thankless job for protecting this country. Those who are called to war, not because we tell them to do so, but because they feel it is their core belief. And like I said before, a thankless job. Whenever a professional sports team win a championship, there is a celebration in the streets. Yet when our armed forces return home, it’s usually a family member to greet them. We rarely celebrate their coming home, why? Why do we just take it for granted?

When these men and women return home we look at them like, “Oh, that’s what you’re supposed to do for me.” “You’re supposed to want to die for me living in the comforts of my living room.” All the while, they are being shot at in some foreign country they’ve never been to; on terrain they’ve never seen Image result for troops homebefore. But nonetheless, they do their duty and come home. We give them half off on a Memorial Day brunch and say we did our part. But what about a little more. Why not take this time instead to push for programs that will aid in their matriculation back into society? They most likely have spent time, for the ones who fought, shooting and killing. Now they’re supposed to come back home and live a normal life.

How do we expect them to live normal if we don’t assist? Their duty has been to fight, but what is ours? If someone is willing to say, “I am fighting because it’s my duty.” Why not help them out with something? I’m not saying it necessarily has to be of monetary value. I’m talking more of Image result for homeless troopspsychological treatment. Because if their minds are right, then they can earn their own livings and live a normal life. If any candidates are qualified for free health care it should be armed forces who fought in foreign wars. And that help should be mental. Or better yet, someone who lost a limb and is now disabled. They walk the streets, and people stare, not knowing what they sacrificed.

And the other reason why they deserve it is because we spend so much money on foreign aid to other nations. Yet we let the men and women who give their lives fighting for us nothing.  If a hurricane wipes out a village in some foreign land we hold telethons and major events. But none of the like when troops come home from war. So, in the end, we should take care of our own before assisting others. In America unless there is a draft, you have the freedom to join willingly. That shouldn’t mean, you join, it’s your problem. Why do we treat it like it’s a punishment instead of something to commend. It not only should, but must change. Otherwise we lose a piece of our identity as a nation.

HARD TO FOLLOW HYPOCRISY FOR JUSTICE: THOUGH I DISAGREE, HARD TO FULLY FIGHT TRUMP

Image result for trump protesters

“Do you not like, nor hate him either?”

Since the election back in November of 2016 for President Donald J. Trump, people have been doing everything from debating to protesting. I myself have written a few posts on Trump as well. But what I have not done was write from the perspective of being on his side. Most people would say, “How could you be on his side?” And they would be right to an extent. There are things he says and done that delve into petty. But when I see the types of people coming after Trump, it puts you in a strange position. You have so many awful people, or people who never question the awful behavior in their own environment question Trump.

What do I mean by strange position? This is what I mean. When I hear people make statements regarding Trump, then turn around and behave that same way, it really hurts their argument. It’s hard to go along with someone who is behaving like the man they rail against the most. So, who would I be referring to as it pertains to people who fight the hardest? I am referring to athletes, entertainers, politicians, business executives, and newscasters. People who have just as much, if not more influence than Trump exemplify their own poor behavior.

Who would fall into the category of what I am talking about. On of the groups is the fashion industry. Trump’s daughter Tiffany attended a fashion show awhile back. Patrons refused to sit next to her amidst her father’s comments about women. Understandably so, until you delve deeper into the fashion industry. When you see how they have had such a negative impact on young women. Everything from telling young women who are already underweight they need to lose more, to being forced to create more diversity with it’s advertising. And still, the attempt is made to further hold on to such principles in their industry.

So when you hear people who themselves are so immoral and unethical, it’s hard to only point the finger at Trump. Or better yet when NBA player Lebron James states there is no room for the type of locker room talk that Trump was engaging in. Then you say to yourself, “Really, now athletes have become the moral compass for how women should be treated. An over 90% divorce rate, mainly due to infidelity. Domestic abuse cases, murder, attempted murder, rapes, and now they are all of a sudden the voice for the women’s cause. It really makes it hard to hear these types of individuals plead their case. And still, there is another group of people that go hard and that is the entertainers.

Entertainers have been poking fun and protesting themselves against Donald Trump. But every award season actors and actresses take to the stage demanding higher pay for women and expressing a lack of diversity as it pertains to minorities. It is hard attack someone at a restaurant for poisoning another patron’s food, when your own meal is being poisoned at the dinner table and you eat it like it taste delicious. And yet, you never hear about them out a studio executive for their practices. All you hear is, “the industry” is a certain way. But the industry is made up of people, who are the people. If we attack the president, I also want to know the names of these bosses as well.

And that’s my problem, why I may disagree, but it’s hard for me to fully follow the pack. There is just way too many hypocrites fighting the president. Too many wanna be righteous people who are not really being righteous. They talk about togetherness and are some of the main people pushing against their own agenda. Mass media has this narrative they push as well, but won’t admit it because it boost ratings. See, in the end, everyone want to act like a martyr, until the one you stand by does that thing that has you protesting. We will find every reason to denounce the opposition, but fight for the wrong on our own side. So it forces me, to now stand behind those I wouldn’t normally stand behind because of the dishonesty. And the more we are dishonest the more Trump types will come into power.

WHEN THE MACHINE BREAKS: IS AMERICA ON THE VERGE OF A REVOLUTION

Image result for revolution

“It will be televised.”

In America today, people have been up in arms since Donald Trump was elected president of the United States. There have been protests and threats of boycotts. Even the United States government have been going after President Trump. In addition to all this, Trump’s constituency is still going strong. Now, with all that’s said, is America headed for some form of a revolution. I have never seen Americans this on edge regarding a US president in my life. So what is it that has gotten people so up in arms. We have always been divided on leaders in this country, but this time it’s a lot different.

For starters, people are out of work and employment is low. And on top of that, over the past year we elected a very polarizing president. But about the employment situation. America is rapidly changing from a labor based society to a information/technologically based country. And with so many people unskilled in this area, they have become quite desperate. Desperate for jobs and desperate for leadership. So what happens next, the people elect a man that no matter what he says or does, he’ll win if they feel he is in their best interest. Since winning in November 2016, his (Donald Trump’s) followers have held on strong. But then there is the other side.

Then, there are the people who are against him. These are the protesters, the boy cotters, and the people wanting him to be impeached. For me, living in New York City, you’re used to seeing some form of protest. But since Trump won the presidential election so much has taken place in Manhattan. Even the government has been harping on this Russian influence in the presidential election. We have not been this interested in an election of a president in a long time. So with what has been said, is America overdue for a revolution? Which could have different meanings depending on who interprets the word revolt.

There are a few types of revolution: fighting back with protests, there is the violent upheaval, and then there is the artistically sound way to respond. On the protesting side, all these protest should not be looked at as just people marching the streets. These are people who are actually galvanizing for the next election in 2020. These are people who represent the 60% that voted against the president as well as the those that didn’t vote for him. On the other hand you have the violent exchange. This is what people might want to stray away from. Because the fire power of the US government is much more than what the people have in our arsenal. And, you also get very little accomplished because more of a rift takes place in the system. So violence might be seen as a way, but that is the absolute last result.

Then there is the artistically sound method of addressing an issue in our society. Artists have already started addressing the issues of today’s America in the work. No matter if it’s the music, the paintings, sculptures, filmmaking, theatre, fashion, and/or publications. Addressing issues through art has always been a revolutionary way to reach the masses and effect change. Whether it’s breaking color barriers through sports and rock & roll, or making entertainment that connects to the way we all feel about a particular situation. In the end, America is on the verge of a shift in this country. We have always dealt with social issues in this country, and always have had our ways of addressing them. Only time will tell on what happens next in America.
