WORKPLACE CONFLICTS: DO YOU HAVE EMPLOYEES YOU DON’T GET ALONG WITH

Two Brown Goats

“Oh, not you again.”

working next to them stinks

Have you ever been next to someone you work with and can’t stand to look at them. Every time they come around, you get this feeling of resentment. But they are your coworkers so you have to learn to get along somehow. Because if you bring the attitude of how you really feel, then you will have some serious problems. So how do you come to a place where you can have this understanding with each other. You never want to put yourself in a position where you could lose your gig over a workplace dispute. So what do you do in this situation when you are working near someone or people you may not like.

can you switch roles, do so

Luckily you work in an organization with different departments. And the reality of this is that sometimes a job opens up in that particular department. And when that happens it’s like your prayers are answered. But not everyone can just move to another department. But there are roles you may be able to take on inside that space where you currently reside. And that allows for you to move in another direction and be in another place. This is great, not only for you financially, but also for you mentally.

suck it up

Sorry people, you have to learn to live with the idea that you will be around people you don’t like. So just deal or get off the job. And I know that sounds harsh, but it is what it is. Being difficult on the job only means you can get hurt. So find ways to circumvent around the problem.

“Building a life for yourself.”

careers

Me myself, I have not broke into my career, but I am in leui of it. My pursuits are as a writer (screenwriter and author), filmmaker,  and Photographer. A process that takes a lifetime of work to stay relevant in your career. But for the month of July, I want to focus on answering some questions. The questions will be geared toward directions to take when confused about your future.

drive, will, determination

When pursuing a career, you need to be prepared for the long arduous road of pain to prosperity. And the hardest part is that there are no guarantees. No are not promised this pot of gold and that’s tough to cope with. I guess it’s why we look to have a job with security instead of entrepreneurship. Either way you see it, you must be willing to focus, and fight hard. Ignore the naysayers and take control of inhibitions.  Conserve your energy when possible because you’ll need along the way.

DIFFICULTY ADJUSTING: WHY PEOPLE ARE PUSHING BACK AGAINST THE TECH SHIFT

“What we doing to ourselves?”

Recently, people have found it hard to cope with  the idea that jobs in the United States are moving out of the country. But not just any jobs, the industrialized jobs that once built this nation. Now, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any jobs left in America. It just means that the marketplace has shifted around. We are moving away from an industrialized nation to a more technologically savvy nation. And that is something that so many people did not see coming. People were under this impression that we’re going to work in factories for life. But everything in society changes, everything. And that you have to be able to shift with the constant change. So now everyone is mad.

But mad, mad at what? We have always been a nation that has made these types of shits in technology. Yes, jobs are shrinking in one area, but we will be making strides in other areas. And the fact that we are in an open marketplace, this creates so many more great opportunities. Yet so many are resistant to change in our society. No matter if it’s social, economic, or educational. Changes have to take place; this is how one nation stays ahead of another. And if America starts to lag behind, then this nation as a whole will start to  take losses. So what must be done to prepare for the shift that is taking hold in our society? They must face the inevitable, and move with everything else in our world.

As technology progresses, products and services will become more efficient and productive. Not only that, but cost will drastically be brought down.  And no longer will you need the labor of people to get a job done. Because a computer will be able to handle what people used to do. Meaning, we as a society will become more of an informational, operational, managerial, group of people. The man or woman who can use their hands to perform a task is a dinosaur. Now, what used to take pain-staking hours of labor can be done in some instances with the click of a mouse. Once again, does this mean jobs are loss, absolutely, but not permanently. Old jobs are removed and made way for new opportunities. Then why are so many people raging against the machine? Because of the time to put into learning something new.

And in the end, that’s the biggest concern with the tech industry taking hold. It’s not that people are down and out. It’s that people start to age and get set in their ways and don’t want to learn anything new. You are more than capable, but you’re so used to the status quo, you think it should stay that way forever. But remember one key aspect of change while you’re fighting it. The change that able you to be who you are, doing what you’re doing was pushed against. Yet the push was ineffective, which laid ground for you to be you. So you have to adjust and figure your shit out, there’s no other way.

MY DAY JOB, YAWN: WHY DO PEOPLE LOOK FORWARD TO FRIDAY AND DREAD SUNDAY NIGHT

Rear View of Man Working in Office

“I wish I were anywhere else but here.”

5:30 am, the alarm blares, and you role out of bed. You go straight to the bathroom, and stare yourself in the mirror because you are about to start your day of work. But first, you have to get yourself clean; so you turn on the shower. Scrambling for a towel, you find one and hang it on the rack. bed, bedroom, breakfastYou’re still half asleep even with the illumination of the light. That’s until the hot water hit your body. And when you’re half sleep, you sometimes turn on the water too hot, or too cold. And that is a shock out of this world; either the feeling of being in an ice box, or immediate pain of scorching temperatures.

After your shower, and you get dressed, it’s time to leave the house. With one step outside, all you can think about is the end of the day. Isn’t that something, you’re not even off the premises of your house and already you feel disconnected from work. And arriving at work is no better because nowcommuter, commuting, late all you’re thinking about is the weekend. And that’s when it’s confirmed; you hate your day job. Because if come Monday you’re thinking of Friday, and Sunday night, you’re dreading Monday morning, your life is being wasted. But what else is there for people to do. If you’ve found your career of interest you love all seven days.

Now on the other hand, if you’re one of these people that hate what you do, everyday is a drag. Because the weekend is not even good enough. Saturdays are rest days, and Sunday is in preparation for Monday. So how do you have a life that you want? Or better yet, how do you find out what Man in White Shirt Using Macbook Proyou’re good at, to even pursue the life you want? So many people don’t even know what they’re good at to pursue. You hear so many people say I want a good paying job, but what’s a job. They always say they need a job they like, but what’s a job you like. Yet when you ask what’s a good job, they look at you like you’re supposed to know.

I would liken adults looking for better employment opportunities to a crying baby. The baby can’t communicate what is wrong, but is hurting for some reason. And they expect you to know, but they can’t communicate to you why they are hurting. Only problem with adults is that they can communicate what’s wrong. And what’s wrong is they don’t like what they Related imagedo for a living. They don’t know what they are good, don’t even know the job they want, but know they hate their current position. An impossible feat in my opinion regarding wanting something new. Why, well if you don’t have a skill or self-awareness, how do you move forward?

Knowing your skills, you can manipulate your life how you want it to pan out. But lacking skills is why people say they need new work, I hate my job, or I need a new job. And in the end, that’s the problem with so many people who hate what they do, and would like something else. They don’t have any skills, or they lack the necessary skills needed to have a better career. It’s almost like we all hold our breathe, hoping for something to come. And when nothing comes we ask why. It’s because you have to make your own luck in our society. Easier said than done.

BRING ME YOUR TIRED, YOUR POOR, YOUR HUDDLED MASSES, YEARNING TO BE FREE

Image result for us flags

“People died for rights to be and stay protected.”

For the longest throughout American history we have always had people coming into this country from some place else. They arrive to escape war, famine, poverty, and religious persecution. America is just that place where they can be themselves without fear of persecution. America is that country where their hard work and determination will speak for how far they’ll go in life. But my question to you is have America, or are we starting to lose the allure about this country? Are we becoming what all these other nations have been which brought people here? If so, why have we changed or why are we changing?

In my opinion, we have not fully changed, but we are changing as a nation. The image of your children coming to this country pursuing their endeavors is diminishing because the people who have been here for so long feel slighted. Their feelings are that if these groups continue to flock over here then what is left for them. But if this new group just emerged, Image result for us immigrantshow is it possible that they have replaced you? They can’t replace you if you are already here working. But they do replace you, and part of that is not necessarily because jobs are leaving the country. One aspect has to do with politics. The political landscape in America plays in a role in their success.

You might ask how; how does politics play a role? Because they don’t look at America as Democrat or Republican. To them, it is a land of great opportunity despite whose in power. They understand that American Related imagepoliticians are policy makers not job creators. So they’ll only make it easier or harder for an organization’s ability to hire. Meanwhile American born citizens are looking for a party to make their lives better. Hilary was supposed to make life better. Then some say Trump is the winner, he’ll fix it. But in reality neither will. They just create the policy for you to make your own life better. So immigrants understand they must work and not sit back waiting for work to come to them. They go out and create opportunity.

Another aspect of why immigrants are more successful than Americans is because they also are willing to learn the new thing in our society that is where success lies. Meaning, if tech is the new America, then it’s tech they learn. We, being born here, say we prefer the same old method because we don’t want to learn something new. We get complacent where they don’t. Mainly because complacency where they come from is complete failure. And, they have fought so hard to get here, why. Why spend years getting here, just to be lazy when you get here. There is no expectation of being handed anything, just move out the way and let me create my own lane.

See, in the end, people yearning for freedom is what makes this country great. Because in return, they contribute on such a large scale. In the medical field today, so many Indian Americans dominate the field. Not because they are born that way. They are raised to pursue careers in areas Image result for american identitywhere people are needed and where there is job security. Meaning a great garbage truck driver can be replaced, but a great physician can’t. People need doctors, but you can remove the human element eventually from picking up trash. So in opinion, we should always remain open to those legally going through the process of being an American. Because once we lose that, we lose part of this nation’s identification.

THE CITY IN THE SAND: UTILIZING WHAT WE HAVE TO BUILD WHAT WE NEED

Related image

“We need it, but what is the cost?”

The United States of America has so much land, yet we only utilize a small portion of the land. A large volume of the country’s population is concentrated to a few locations. Those people are mainly in our major cities. But what about the land we don’t use? Is there any use for this land? I know we have a lot of preserved land out west. But, is there any way to make some of this land into another city? Whether it’s a small city or even the building of a major city. What are some of the places we could build? Well, let’s first observe why we might need to build another city.

The United States economy has been having problems with job creation. My thought would be, what about building another major city. This would Related imagecreate not only jobs in the country over a long haul, but will also serve as another city for tourism, infrastructure, and connecting major cities to cities for growth. The idea I had in mind was the desert in the western part of the United States. Like I said before, even though land is preserved, maybe there is a way to build around this land. I just see the land not being utilized as counterproductive. But where in the west; deserts are wide and vast in the United States.

A suggestion I had was around the area of Death Valley. This wide desolate land that is vast and arid with little room for life to exist, could be a potential site. This would mean building massive infrastrRelated imageucture just to build water resources alone. What about the roads and the commercial as well as residential real estate needed to be built? Is there such a plan that would work for the building of a city? Are there any protest that could arise from the building of a civilization in the desert? That’s why I said around the region of Death Valley.

Now, what could a desert city look like in the future? I have sought out pictures via Google imaging at what a desert city could potentially look like in the future. A few images I noticed that commercial and residential properties Related imagecould be built into the landscape. For example, office buildings could be constructed into large rock formation or dug out of cliffs. The photo is of a potential building for a city built into the formation of the landscape. This means hundreds of feet dug down and hundreds of square miles out. Giving the impression from the sky that the landscape looks like every other desert landscape, yet a city lies beneath. Another pro of building such a city in the desert would be the use of solar panels for energy conservation. The solar energy in a death valley region could really save on energy cost.

In the end, there are many possibilities to building out west. There are even room for growth as it pertains to vegetation. Solar panel farming has grown in popularity which could also aid in growth for a civilization. But, there may be quite some time before we see a building to the scale I see for a city. You still have to get around the governmental policies put forth to protect such lands and protestors upset about the building on lands. Until then, we have to make due with what we have; hopefully that will change.
