INDEPENDENT DOWNSIDES DURING HARD TIME

“Moving forward.”

WHEN ROUGH GETS ROUGHER

Ever been in a position where you have to choose between being totally independent or needing someone’s aid? How about being on your own and getting hit by hard times and being in a place where you can’t easily bounce back. And here is when you realize that you may have been better off in a relationship. This way you can split the cost of survival with someone. When you are independent you take on all the burden. It sounds good to be on your own but when you see the hit on your existence you start thinking. And no other time is this true than now. We are dealing with a pandemic that has shut down the system. So where do you turn?

QUARANTINE GIVES TIME TO THINK

When you are out of work especially now, you are forced to sit with your own thoughts. And if you are single with no kids then you have to sit at home with limited resources. Limitations you wouldn’t have with someone else. Because with someone else you split the difference.  It’s what makes a person at ease a little more when they are able to receive help from someone close. But for a person like me, my life is all too unpredictable. I could be with or without in an instant. So why do we pump up independence? Because you get further with more help. It’s because we think it makes us stronger by building alone.

BUILD A BASE

Learn to put people around you that are going in your direction. This will help you in your time of need.  Being alone especially in a quarantined like situation is not good. I live alone in a city but I get help in bad times. Yet so many don’t get anything.

DREADING THE WORK WEEK

“And here we go.”

MONDAY THRU FRIDAY

On a Sunday night, do you ever get the feeling that you are not going anywhere in life because you hate your job? It’s this feeling that you just want to walk out of the job and do something else. Doing something, anything than what you are doing at the current moment. But if you don’t know how to do anything, then what are you to do. Because you can’t just walk off your job. You need to bring in an income. So you have to make moves to try to enter something else and make the best of your current situation. Because you can’t continue to live a life of misery.

SIDE HUSTLE

You have to ask yourself a question of do you want this long term. And the reality is moving yourself into a better head and financial space. But it is not that easy. Because first what will you do to bring in income. And that is when you should think about the side hustle. The hustle that is something you love to do. This will first start out as nothing then hopefully it flourishes into something more. Now, most people don’t like starting anything new because they have fear of failing. And they are concerned about what other people might think if they don’t do well.

PAINFUL EXISTENCE

When you live like this on a daily from Monday through Friday, then you are going to hate life. Your Saturdays will be spent sleeping and Sunday will be consisting of preparing for Monday. And this is how most people live their entire lives. They will be on this hamster wheel until the day they die.

NO COLLEGE CAREER

People Wearing Backpacks

“Why sit in class all day?”

DO YOU NEED IT REALLY

Going to college you have all these ideas about what life is going to be once you graduate undergraduate school. You think that life is going to be so cut clean and dry when it comes to finding employment. But what you don’t realize is that your college degree is a small aspect of the overall success of a person’s career. Now that I have embarked on my career journey I am looking at life going, why did I go to college? Because there are people who go to school for photography or filmmaking, but you really don’t need to do so. As a matter of fact, you can actually pay less for the equipment and getting yourself started versus going to school. We also have enough videos out there and books to self educate.

SPECIALIZED STILL NEED SCHOOL

There are careers that still need a degree to obtain the role. And those are usually jobs where you have to get into the medical fields like surgeons. This is because someone’s life is in your hands. So for that reason, you have to be in school, usually for a long period of time. But is medicine the only type of career you need to go to school for, no attorneys in most states. That is because the extensive training is necessary when dealing with the outcome of people’s lives.

OPEN MARKET

In this new improved society we are able to have careers that don’t always need degrees. You can put yourself in the know and build a life today. So a lot of young people have been thinking twice about going to college. That, or they are going to smaller schools that require less money to pay back and are living at home.

LOVING WHAT YOU DO BUT NOT THE PEOPLE

“We get along because we have to.”

THE WORKPLACE

Imagine working on a job that you love to come to everyday. But then you have to work around people that you don’t quit get along with. That means occupying a space with multiple people that you share space eight hours per day, five days a week. So even a job you love can be stressful when being around these types of people. And what do I mean by these types of people? I mean people who you cannot hold a conversation with without there being an issue. Someone that you are in close proximity with, but they are just not the least bit conversational. People who keep a conflict going in the space, and also people that try to sabotage everything you do at work. This usually comes a place of insecurity and threat of losing out to you.

MAKE THE BEST OF IT

Try to do the best thing possible which outreach at first. I myself am not a person who does not talk much on my jobs, but it is because it has something to do with me focusing on work being social. I just like to focus on work and then outside of work engage in a little more social. But the only problem is, people I work with don’t see that aspect of me. And getting to know me, you’ll see that. So you have to be patient with some people. But then there are others that you have to just act like they don’t exist. It’s hard, especially if you have to work on a team with them.

LAST DITCH EFFORT

I honestly think that even when you like your job, sometimes people can be so toxic that you have to jump ship. You have to look at your surroundings and realize that things are not getting better and it’s better to remove yourself fully. Now, most people figure things out, but the few that can’t stay around get the hell out of there. So realize where you stand on the spectrum make a decision according.
