THE LOGIC AGAINST THE EMOTION: WHY THE PUSH AGAINST IMMIGRATION WON’T WORK

barbed wire, barrier, blur

“Build it longer, stronger, still won’t help.”

immigration

Since the presidential run of Donald Trump, the sentiment of protecting our borders and removing illegal immigrants from the country have been a topic of discussion. And for the most part, these immigrants have come from countries south of the United States borders. Not too many from Canada, throughout Europe, Africa, or Asia; but from Mexico and Central America. And my criticism of the removal is not because mainly the separation of families and protecting borders. It’s about the sentiment; this held belief of immigrants taking jobs. We need to breakdown the thought of what it is to take a “job” and what are those “jobs” that are really being taken away. LET’S OBSERVE.

the job of the American born

In the United States, since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, we have held on strong because of the work coming from manufacturing. And over time, we have seen a lot of those jobs removed and taken to overseas nations where the cost of manufacturing is cheaper. This way, by the time it (the product) hits the U.S. soil, we are seeing a price that is a direction relationship of architecture, building, businessthe business conducted by the corporations themselves with outside country’s manufacturing. Now, here in the United States, with so many factories closing, you have a lot of small cities and towns throughout the country shutting down as well because they cannot afford to compete. If you’re an American manufacturer making televisions selling for $500 how do you compete with a better quality flat screen for $275 – $300. Eventually you have to shut down.

the job of the illegal immigrant

Coming to the United States to seek out a better way of life. That is the main goal for so many trying to gain access to our country. And for those who go through the rigorous process that can take years, they feel it was worth the wait. And then there are the people who take it upon themselves to risk breaking the laws of the land in crossing over the borders by land or by sea in Image result for mexican flagsearch of a better life. Many have known to come from the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Haiti, being that they are so close to the state of Florida. And the bulk of the group that come through America’s borders do so through Mexico.

the jobs they have

In the United States today, there is a held belief that the jobs are being taken by illegals in America. Well, let’s observe what that means. Since Trump has taken office, illegal immigrants have been detained throughout the country and forced back to their homelands. A move that has directly challenged policies like that of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) created by the Obama administration put forth in the summer of 2012. And Americans have both praised and protested the push to remove and separate families. And the idea of jobs being preserved for the hard working American who are losing out to illegals has an underlying problem. Fast Food industries consisting of delivery drivers, servers, busboys, cooks, and cleaners; the hospitality industry of maids, bellboys, and other cleaning crew make up the majority of the jobs worked by illegal immigrants. What’s interesting, is since removing these families, the Americans finding fault with illegal immigration have not shown interests in those jobs. Why because they find it hard to raise a family on the income from working those jobs. So if the reason for removing illegals for the “most part” is preserving jobs and the jobs they are working you don’t want, what is the real threat?

evolution tech-solution

We say, we need to protect our borders from drugs, never works. Let’s protect our borders from violent crime, but the majority of the real threat are American born citizens. And the big one, we need to protect American jobs. But see, the real killer of American employment is technological innovation. The work that could provide for your families are or have become obsolete. That’s why you must have a more specialized skill to earn a living. The jobs like factory repetitive assembly work is not like it used to be. You now have more engineers working the machines that would in the past take multiple people for the processing of goods. And if you’re fighting technological innovation, you’re in a losing battle. Because the country, our continent, with world will not stop evolving through means of innovation and invention simply because you and I can’t keep up. We’re in a game today; a game of either evolve or get left behind.

OPEN THE COAL MINES: WHY AREN’T OUR POLITICIANS HONEST ABOUT OUR FUTURES

brown coal, brown coal mining, bucket wheel excavators

“Leave the past behind, yes or no?”

the past to present

In the past, Americans were the pentacle of the world as it pertains to industry. We were king in the industrial revolution, but now the tables have turned. The new game in town is technological innovation and information; two areas where America has slacked. So what must be done to insure that the nation stays in its position on top? Because China surpassed America recently in GDP, but America regained footing on top. Now, America has regulatory laws in place that are different from China, but nonetheless they are right there with us.

industry decline

Americans make what? I’m waiting, what do we really make anymore? Our greatest creation and has been for a while is people. With regards to actual Panoramic Shot of Skygoods and services, we are slowly losing our position. A great deal of our livestock, fruits, and vegetables come from outside America; not to mention about 80% of our seafood. We have become major importers, instead of major exporters as well. We are not making anything that world needs, that the world can get from us less than anywhere else. So what are we to do?

land usage

America has a lot of land, yet we only utilize a small portion of the land for farming. You would think is a fully-functional country, yet so much of our land is preserved for wildlife conservation. But we can’t just start growing crops. Bird's Eye View Of FarmlandFarming doesn’t work that way, it’s a lot that has to go into making sure the land is able to sustain whatever you’re growing. It takes more than just throwing some seeds into the ground and growing crop.

bad ideas

I know this for certain, opening the steel mills, coal mines, and paper mills is not smart. Because anyone who understands even anything basic about business at that level is that when someone creates something better, bye bye. Meaning, we reopen factories, and someone comes along with a better more effective idea, it renders the factory obsolete. I always use the mule puller example. Families used harnesses for themselves attached to mules for farming, until the combine came along. When was the last time you saw a mule puller? Like I said, evolution is a continuous progression from what is basic to what is complex. Factories are basic today; at one point in time, they were complex. But in today’s society an evolution is taking hold, so we must move on.

THE NEW W IS AN L: WHY AMERICA IS NOT BUILT ON WINNING ANYMORE

black wallpaper, black-and-white, boxer

“Victory-less!”

a nation of winners

America used to be a nation that pride ourselves on winning. Now, if you look at life with this winning mentality it’s treated like some sort of punishment. Maybe because someone else may not be as good as you, or the idea that we frown on people being on top too long. But for some reason we support the losing more than we do the winning.

If you look at sports, which has put America at the top for do long, we now have to look at other nations that teach the winning mentality we once had, to their children. Now you have countries like Russia, Jamaica, Spain, and even Image result for jamaica sportssmall Eastern European countries pushing themselves past us in sports. Well, how did it start?

the fall

The reason why so much of American winning has fell off is because we have reached this point where all the losers stop wanting to win. And almost operate like they formed their own coalition and are now going after anyone that is perceived to be winning. So much so that companies are now backing people and marketing them as independent to make money.

Because when people see you as a winner they shy away because in their minds you don’t need any further help. And we reached this point not just because of the coalition, but not wanting to continue to rise to the occasion. It’s one thing to win, but staying on top is harder than winning. Anyone can get the “W” but can you hold that spot. So what happened is people got lazy.

is it what it seems

The below photo is of the New York City citizens going to and from trains underground at Penn Station. And when I look at these people, I don’t losers. I don’t see a group of people who want things handed to them. I see go getters, I see hustlers, I seeRelated image hungry Americans. And that’s when it dawns on me that the society we live in is not prided on losing today. We just have this really loud losing bunch and the rest are silent winners. And we have folded to the pressure of the losers’ voices. So in order to capture that winning spirit once again, we must speak up and speak out against the coalition formed that make our children believe mediocrity is the key to prosperity.

FREEDOM: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU

america, ancient, architecture

“Options!”

The above photo is of the Statue of Liberty that was given to us as a present from France. And since that point and time it has stood as one of our monuments in America that is a representation of freedom. So my question to you is, what does freedom mean to you? Would you say you’re living the life that you thought you would always be living? Or have the life yet to come into existence for you? Maybe you fall under the third option, the American dream has never and will never live in your heart. For me, the idea of the American dream is the ability to choose to go to work everyday. Meaning, I can make a conscious decision to not do anything today and tomorrow, that is freedom for me. Another aspect of the American dream is financial.

And for me, the financial American dream for me is living an Upper Middle Class life. The perfect income for me would fall in the range of $250,000 – $500,000 for me to live comfortably. Meaning everything that I have always wanted falls under this yearly income bracket. So for me, a middle class life is survival, and a dream falls in the prior range. And with that said, a lot of people never meet their expectations and live out their entire lives unhappy with their personal and financial position. Other aspects of the dream such as marital and parental could also be a dream for you as well. For me at least, marital and parenting goals are not the least bit of a priority in life. So all in all, single, upper middle class, and the ability to choose to wake up everyday and not having to is the dream.

Now, when observing the landscape of America, we all have something we consider the dream life. And for most people, you hear what they want, and middle class is just fine. For others they need to have a private plane, yacht, with a mansion, and amenities. And that is the just of the American dream, it is open to whoever is interpreting what the dream is to them. No one person can define what that dream is, even we like to at times. But when you look at the landscape of America today, it seems like that dream is dying out. A dream that so many lived is now taking a new form that many are starting to see as eluding them. Can the idea of that American dream ever return again? Because in the end, if the idea of the dream is lost, the identity that has made America special will die as well. And thus the country going into a state of degradation.
