“When will it happen again?”
the fall to come
I told someone I work with, that the next major collapse could be coming soon. You know what, let me not exaggerate, I said that I feel something is coming in 2020 that is economically stressful. So I have been making the appropriate adjustments to try to make myself ready for the hit. Now, I am not someone who follows the market ritually, but you know how you get that feeling? It’s something you can’t describe, but you know something is about to happen. Now, that could be just paranoia, but for me, I would rather earn a little more money and make myself ready than to not be ready and get hit. But where is this feeling coming from because some people feel hopeful?
my workplace in disarray
I have been noticing changes in my workplace lately, but I have not said much to people. Just that I have this feeling about something to come. And that is because I have seen some things that have made me question if I will have a place of employment by the end of next year. So maybe the economy is going to be fine, maybe it’s me who needs to worry a little bit more. From the hours of working to the customer base coming into the store, I have been seeing a downturn. And my aim is at when it hits I can easily matriculate out into something else and earn a living. So what is really going on in the country that I feel this way?
the leadership in limbo
With President Trump facing impeachment charges, this could leave the country in an economic mess. Now, do I think he will be impeached, no, but then again, I never thought he would win either. But look at the country, we are doing better than years prior and the job market is up right now. So what could be the problem to come in 2020? And that is that if he is forced to step down from his post, it could mean that the economy is going to take a hit because now for the time being the leadership of a nation is impacted. Only if I could tell the future I would be able to feel a little more at ease. But for the time being I’ll still keep myself a little cautious. I would rather be too sure than not sure at all.

“The fall of all falls.”
Since the Great Depression which was the fall of 1929, the United States has had numerous economic falls. But nothing has come close to rivaling the Great Depression. I’m talking about an economic downturn which sent people into a life of crime to survive. A choice that people thought we never had to make in life to live. You even had a lot of people committing suicide. Doing everything from shooting themselves to jumping from windows. Now, my question is, when will the next big one take place? We came really close back in 2008/2009.
The panic, the fear, the money supply running out, the bank runs. All of the things that people are scared could happen when the big collapse happens. But could America sustain another major fall? Who knows, the next one could be the one the end our civilization. Don’t think that America can last forever. We have had far greater empires come and go, who were much stronger, and lasted longer. Yet no one wants to think about that potentially happening. And if this could happen, what if anything could stop it form happening?
stay ahead of the curb
America has always been the leaders of technological innovation. But is that starting to go away. Because is still strong because the “idea” that we are great exist. And the reason I say idea, is because through so much political and social strife in recent years, we are falling behind other nations. Nations that we never would have thought would become rivals. We have to learn to be innovative and maybe even inventive as we are social and political. If not, you will start to see happen what has happened to great empires in the past, they fall; fall from the strife within.

“What if confidence is lost?”
The United States currency has been a long subject of debate. And that debate is, what is our money really worth? Because in reality it’s just paper. And the real confidence is in our economy. Because if our economy begins to decline, then what are these sheets of paper? Well then, could it happen? Could we see America fall into a second Great Depression twice in America’s history? With the industrial age looking more and more like something of the past, what is going to replace it? It’s going to be this new technological space. Yet we have an uneducated populace who are not only unaware, but not willing to learn this new way. And with that comes uncertainty within the market. And now what you have is uncertainty in our dollars as well. So what do you do about the potential value of the American dollar falling or even collapsing?
The fear of this could send the nation into a tail spin. We are already behind the Euro and the British Pound. And with China now the largest economy in the world, who knows, their currency could be next to surpass us. Then, once all these different currencies start to pass us, can we truly say we are still this great nation? How are we such a great place when places that are seen by us as not as great surpassing us? That image dies and so does the status of America. Now, am I saying brace yourself for a catastrophe, no. But we should be mindful of the sensitivity of the market. Let’s say though for a minute that our system does collapse. What could this mean for the countries who we owe money to in debt? Would this mean that we would have to start cyphering off assets we do have left.
These various assets could mean natural resources, or better yet, land. Imagine the chaos if people found out that we no longer were in control of our land anymore. Like I said, this is still a stretch, but it has happened before. And in the end, that is the true fear. Chaos has happened once before. And for some reason, we as people tend to always forget history and repeat the same mistakes. Hopefully, we are able to maintain our confidence in our dollars and our economy can grow. Otherwise, we’ll fall victim to our own lack of hubris and ignorance.
