WHEN IT ALL COMES CRASHING DOWN

WHEN IT’S GONE

We all dread the idea that we could lose our jobs. And considering most people live for their checks, you can understand the fear of those who do. Now, if you’re one of those blessed people who just happen to earn a little money to get you over, then count your lucky stars. But for most people, they need their job to survive. We never think to ourselves that we could lose our jobs. We go there everyday, with this idea that it could never be me. That is until your name is called. And the scary part about it, is that we have no way of stopping it. But how do you prepare for a situation that may never happen to you?

SAVE SAVE SAVE

You get your check and pay your bills, then you go out to eat or shopping. And you don’t realize throughout the year how much money you spend on miscellaneous items. And we don’t put much in savings. That is until the job is gone and now we are scrambling for ways to live. The average American only has enough money in their savings account to hold them over for a few weeks in case they lose their jobs. After that, most people are forced to sleep in the street. But is having a savings something you can truly dig in to when you need it? Are you really secure when you feel you’re secure? What if you’re unemployed for 6 months to a year? That is a stretch to be able to save for in the case you lose your job. And to build capital for the ability to live that long is not as easy as it seems.

A LITTLE SOMETHING ON THE SIDE

If you can find a way to make an additional $200, $300, or even $400 per week, it really helps. Now, how you’re going to do that is the hard part. But in our everyday lives, waste a lot of time doing nothing. With that nothing we can figure out how to make money doing something we enjoy. No amount of money is too small. It seems small in the paradigm of building it, but if something bad happens, you’ll be surprised what it can do for your life. Just keep in mind when you go to work, nothing, absolutely nothing is guaranteed. Never get too comfortable in this ever changing environment.

HIGH EXPECTATIONS-LOW OUTCOME: ARE YOU READY TO BE UPSET

Man in Black Shirt and Gray Denim Pants Sitting on Gray Padded Bench

“How disappointing.”

man that hurt

Ever tried to go for an opportunity and then you get hit with the big rejection? And that is when you realize that no matter how hard you work, some things are just not going to be for you. You can put your heart and soul into whatever it is you’re doing, yet at the end of the day it means nothing. Someone will get the gig over you, but what hurts the most is someone who got it and wasn’t nearly as good as you. And that’s when you find out, there are other qualities besides being good at something. This can be frustrating because I thought that is what you needed was pure talent.

are you sure  you’re that good

You have this idea that you were the best, but were you? Nobody want to think that they were not that good. But in reality, you might not be that good. So you worked hard, but this person was still better. Thy might not have worked as hard either, but they were nonetheless better. Now some people observe what that person did, and then they try to figure out what they did wrong. But so many people won’t do that, they just end up not liking the person who got the role.

it’s the nature of the game

Guess what people, it is what it is. You didn’t get it, so regroup and go back at it. That is apart of the game . And that is the setbacks that comes with not getting what you want. Those that do go on to succeed are the ones that keep at it until they do get that major opportunity. The ones that don’t get the opportunity are the ones that complain about how they got passed up.

FAILURE IN PURSUIT FOR SUCCESS: HOW TO MAINTAIN WHEN FACING FAILURE IN LIFE

black-and-white, depressed, depression

“Keep forging ahead.”

living in the paradigm

While in our pursuit for success, we often find ourselves wallowing in our own self pity. Why, well because in the paradigm of trying to succeed, we are not able to see success as much we are able to see the failure right in front of us. We don’t see the small successes and gains along the pathway because we’re stuck in our hurt. We also don’t see the gains because we are constantly chasing the bigger picture. So you don’t see the small gains when you’re focused on the greater things you seek to achieve.

be easy

Try not to get too caught up in the fact that you are not making the gains you want just yet. Those internal feeling can manifest themselves outwardly. And from here on out, you will experience yourself moving further away from your point in life. So instead of focusing on the fact you are 10 steps ahead, you inadvertently pushed yourself 12 steps back. So it’s ok to be a critic of yourself. But don’t push it too far because you will become your biggest enemy in the process.

more success equals more work

People seem to think that once they arrive where they want to be that the work is complete. They have not made it, they have simply arrived at a certain point. So now, there is constant work just to maintain that point in your life. And here is and even bigger true testament to your standing power. Because a lot of people fall from grace because they cannot maintain their position. They can not keep up with the constant for more and more. So you have to work for years just to make yourself strong enough to deal with the wave ahead.

LIFE GOING NOWHERE: HOW TO DEAL WITH A DEAD END JOB

adult, beard, concentrated

“Time for a change.”

bad job

I have had my fair share of bad jobs in my life. And what do you do when you are stuck on a bad job that you just can’t seem to get away from. You hate being there, but unless you’re in a relationship with someone who makes a substantial amount of money, you can’t just quite. So a lot of people stay on their jobs and never leave that position. So from here on out they show up day in and day out. Five days per week (depending on the job, weekends as well), four weeks out of the month, for the entire year. And before you know it, years have gone by and you have done nothing but go to this job.

rest breeds complacency

Coming home from your dead end job, you just want to rest. But what that does is forces you to wake up, only with enough time to get ready for your job again. So as difficult as it may seem, you have to force yourself to keep going. Think about the job you go to, and not only want more, push for more. For two reasons: 1) when the job function is no longer needed to keep the organization going, they will get rid of you, 2) you will eventually live to resent other people who are living their best life. And when I say do better, I am not only talking about financial. You could learn more that will allow you to stay on board if the company starts letting people go. You will have the ability to matriculate into this new way of business.

trust the process

In the paradigm of living, nothing we do seem like it’s working while we’re doing it. I look at the career of Hollywood actress Tiffany Haddish. How over the recent year, she has taken off in her career. But she has been performing comedy since her early twenties. Now who has the guts to work for the next 15 years, with disappointment after disappointment, to come into their success. We all want to wake up tomorrow with her success, but it just doesn’t happen that way. And her is why people can’t break out of the dead end job. What’s crazy is that before you know it, 15 ears passes, and they see the person who put in early. And that’s when the resentment sets in because they have wasted precious time they can never get back.
