Most people go to sleep and wake up not really thinking about their health. Problem is, things arise that force you into the doctor’s office. Now, for me, I like to go to the doctor’s office throughout the year. And even with that nothing is guaranteed. So you say to yourself, why even do it if there is no guarantee with health? Well, statistically it puts you at a strong disadvantage. You are supposed to care for your body even when the doctor’s visit renders there is nothing wrong. That doesn’t mean you’re supposed go, “Oh, there’s nothing wrong, back to the donuts and ice cream.” Bad decision to make once you have been given clearance.

longevity means a lot

Everyone want to have a long life on Earth. But when you get news that you must change your lifestyle, then you are forced to come to a realization. You want to live longer than you are going to live change the lifestyle. Or, you can go at it like you have been doing. That is the thing that wakes people up. And hey, you still may live longer, but do you want to live longer and be forced to live in an assisted living quarters. Because there is nothing more upsetting to see someone that is much much older who refused to change their ways early in life. Now they have to have someone around the clock caring for them until the day they die.

Depending on your family history, you may be prone to have sicknesses unlike others. In my family, diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease is a problem. So I have to be extra careful considering it is on both sides of my family. Now, granted, since childhood, I grew up an athlete, but every now and then I feel a little sick. A lot of times it’s nothing but a little bit of stress and anxiety. I will say for the most part I am fine. But if you come from one of these families it should be a wake-up call when you see people getting ill from sicknesses you know you have a lot of control over.

when you have less

As a young man with not much income, I am still able to consume a meal that is good for me to eat. Now granted I don’t have children which forces you to have a major lifestyle change. But I wake p in the morning, leg lift with the medicine ball, then when I am able to get back on the bench, I bench press. But people seem to think that if you have less money that means that your diet has to be a reflection of the lack of income. And yes, the meals that are the most affordable are usually the meals that aren’t good for you. But there are other options if you are willing to eat them.

A human only really needs about 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day to remain healthy.Only problem in America is that we generally consume more than we need. We eat when we feel hungry, and sometimes that can still be after eating. But there are days I feel hungry, but I am not hungry. And that means at times you’re eating as a person just to be eating. So when you consume even though it is not useful to do so, then you find yourself being unhealthy. Just always remember, eating to get full is less healthy then eating because you must have a meal that day.

how far can my dollar go

Whenever I go to the store, I see fruits and vegetables that seem more expensive than they are; and that is because it is a supply and demand thing. You have to realize that the more the fruit that people want, it will be higher at the store. Cherries cost more than bananas, but there are also other variables, yet cherries are more popular. So know what is within your cost that taste good and is healthy. But also be prepared to know the value of starches and poultry in addition to the fruits and vegetables. Buy the bulk pack of poultry, like wings instead of breast, but bake the wings and not fried. As for the condiments, don’t add too much, such as sugar and sauces.

eat right together

In your household, how often do you and your family eat a healthy meal together? Because a lot of families around the country don’t eat a meal that is based in health. They typically eat foods that are not good for them. Now to play devil’s advocate, a lot of the unhealthy food is cheaper and goes further. So trying to eat a balanced diet when you are eating on a budget is tough. Because it cost way more money to eat healthy foods than it does to not eat healthy. For example, McDonald’s menu has entire $1 meals you can purchase, but there is not much room to eat a good meal at night for $3. And these fast food restaurants are locate din poorer communities.

kids eat what we eat

When I was a kid and there was a BBQ for the family, we as the kids ate whatever he parents had to eat. So if the kids had rib tips, then you know what, so did we. The problem that this creates is starting kids off on the wrong track as it pertains to trying to eat right. There really is no reason that kids should be eating the same food as full grown adults. Especially considering that the adults are eating foods they should be cutting form their diet as well.

making the conscious decision

As you walk the aisles of the grocery store, resist the temptation to purchase foods that are not good for you. For so many of us who like eating the unhealthy because it taste good, that’s hard. For me, it’s really not that hard of a task to do. I know what I want versus what is good for me to eat. So eating foods good for me is quite simple. But I also played sports, so eating foods that were good for you were beneficial. So, my who life has been set this way. And trying a new exercise regimen or diet becomes easy.

you have it, do right

Whenever you are in the financial position to take more care of yourself, then you have to do so. I will never understand the people who make the income to eat healthy, but choose not to do so. Yes, if you make a lot of money, you’re busy, but that does not mean you are too busy to not eat healthy. You have to eat food, so there is no reason why it’s not healthy food. Even exercise is something that becomes of choice. Because no matter how busy your schedule, it still is choice at a certain level. So what should someone who make the income do to eat right?

structure is key

How is your daily routine put into place? Normally, people are of certain means are always busy, so they have to have a schedule laid out for them like they do everything else. This means they must go to a schedule or some type of planner to look to so that everything is in order. These are typically not people who just do it because to them the idea of eating right is not a business priority. It’s not important until they become truly ill due to their lack of eating right. Then their business becomes in jeopardy now they must eat right.

If you want to get the right food in your system, you have to get yourself in the right mental space. If you are financially well to do, but all you think about is money, your body has to be taken care of in the same capacity. And to think that people like this don’t think about their health, which the reason they can go out and have a business is odd. Structure your mind to have the same grind as you have with the money you make. Because both of them go hand in hand with each other. Without the health, you don;t make the money.

I come from the Midwest, and if you know anything about this region of the country, you know we love to eat. And let’s not leave out the South as well. And to put things into perspective, when I say eat, I mean everything has pork fat, lard, fried, and glazed. Oh yeah, BBQ’d and smoked to perfection. And here lies the problem with the regions. Because when you have of the top fattest cities, four of the top five in one state (Texas) that possess a serious health concern. I know we live in a country where we can eat what we want, but there has to be limits. Texas, as I mentioned, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan; these places lead the charge in being overweight.

good eatin, bad problems

What happens when you consume so much food, you start to develop health issues surrounding the food you eat. Diabetes, heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, hyperglycemia, colon cancer, stomach cancer, throat cancer, liver disease, pancreatic cancer, gallbladder disease, kidney failure, and loss of vision (which can stem from diabetes). Now, if eating good means any of these issues, keep the meal over there. But we seem to not care and tell people don’t tell me what to eat. But it will be the problem of someone when they are forced to care for you when you lose a leg to Diabetes. So eat what you like, but think for just a moment those who may have to care for you.

hell, water can be bad drinking too much

You want to have a few donuts, fine; a little Haagen Dazs, go nuts. But go nuts every now and then. You can eat anything, just don’t make things a habit. Too much bread and not a balance of other foods can lead to illnesses. And what is more healthy then good old fashion bread. Well, there are fruits and vegetables; but beware, too much fruit raises sugar levels as well. You don’t need to eat sweets to still get sick. And after hearing this you say, now who cares. If fruit gets me sick, let me eat my donuts in peace. Well, nothing is guaranteed, but fruit is a hell of a lot better than chips and cookies and donuts. So eat as you wish, but don’t say you weren’t warned.

Growing up, your image of health is your parents. They are the ones feeding you and feeding themselves in the process. And that is how it was in my household growing up. I ate whatever my mother would eat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The only problem is that she battled a weight problem for most of her adult life. And only now is she able to take off the pounds. That’s how most people end up overweight themselves. They watch their parents consume food and never exercise, so it becomes a thing for them. Yet, my mother always stressed keeping yourself in shape and healthy. She never wanted us to battled like she did with weight.

If you grew up in a poor house and community, then chances are, you will not have the money for healthy food. And when that happens, you eat things that are not good for you, leading to illnesses. But what are you to do when you have multiple mouths to feed and you are operating on a limited budget. The food that is cheaper is unhealthy, but it is what the family can afford. This is when you need to go to other measures to make sure you’re eating right. Meaning, you can afford chicken, but don’t fry it, bake it. Use less sugar in teas and cool-aids. Don’t eat to get full, eat to fulfill what is necessary so you are not hungry.

remove yourself from the environment

In order for you to make your life better physically, you need to put yourself in a different environment than the one you are in. My immediate familial circle was always people who ate whatever we wanted to eat. Then there were a few people in my family who had no choice but to change their lives. But for the people who come from a family where people except their eating habits, you might have to remove yourself from them. Not because you don’t love them, you just have to love yourself.

I remember growing up and going out to eat at buffet style restaurants. They were the best places to take a family because it was easy to afford. But the problem with the buffet is that people don’t eat because they are hungry. They eat to get full, which is not the best way to be all the time. You should be eating when you are hungry, and then stop once you are no longer hungry. We are taught since childhood to finish your plate. But that is not always the best way. Finishing your plate might be overeating for some people. So what really is the best way to eat a meal.

Trying to eat everything until you’re filled can cause long term effects on the body. You don’t just gorge throughout your life because your body internally will start to show from years of abuse. Like for example, your stomach will start developing problems making it harder to digest food. You will also see other problems with digestion: intestines, pancreas, liver, kidneys, and gallbladder. Not to mention diseases linked to your consumption such as heart disease, diabetes, and types of cancers. Because there is nothing wrong with food, but eating until you develop illnesses, then yes, that’s a problem.

being an example

For those of you out there with children, they will mirror what you do. So when mom and dad fill their faces with food, guess who will follow suit. And because they have the genetics of both parents, you better hope mom and dad are not on the heavy side. Otherwise now you’re talking health effects passed to the kid. This is why teaching them to fill their stomachs until you can’t fit anymore is such a bad idea.So eat, but remember when you feel like you’ve had enough, let that be it. Because you’re only given one body, take care of it.
