“They imitate, we follow, they imitate more.”

imitation of life

When we look at any form of entertainment, we would like to think that a lot of entertainers are original. Yet in reality, we are creating works that is a mere reflection of the world we already live in, that we don’t notice. That is why the work they create resonate so much with us. It’s how you convey art, not trying to more be an inventor, rather an innovator.

Now if you do create something that is original then fine, but very few do. They always adopt some aspect of the artist that influence them over the years. And unless you are deep into art, you don’t quite see it.

why we don’t see it

We go through our daily lives going to work, going to lunch, coming home, and raising children. But the reason we can’t see what the artists see, is because the artist job is to watch you. And the things you ignore or don’t see they reflect it on a canvas, in photography, in music, film, television, and theatre. It’s why emotionally we feel so close to certain works.

We don’t see why it makes us feel good, but the artist is able to reach into the subconscious to pull out the memory even when you don’t remember the place of you emotion.

repeat process

Once the artist has shown the world itself, then what? You must continue to recreate yourself in order to be a force in society. So what you have to do is sometimes anticipate the future based on the current situation. That means trying to convey an image of a world tomorrow rather than today or the past.

That’s important because people always look forward to a better tomorrow. And what better way to showcase a better tomorrow than to the people who need encouragement the most.

LIFE IMITATING ART IMITATING LIFE: WHEN ARTIST START TO BELIEVE IN THEIR CHARACTER

Image result for life imitates art

“Being what we think we are.”

artistic imitators

Musicians, actors, and everybody in between have or portray characters that they get a little caught up in the sometimes. And when I say this, I am referring to the imitation of art from the artist. You generally see this in Hip Hop music. The only genre of entertainment where your life can be in danger because of your craft.

And why do people feel the need to portray something that are not. Is it really necessary for people to do this to stay on top?

credibility

When in regards to being caught up in being the character, does a sense of credibility add to the equation. Because we think that rappers are gangsters, in reality, they are mere artists good at being the part. And what’s scary is that you could inevitably lead to your own demise trying to portray this character.

But is all about trying to portray someone or do you get so wrapped up in your career you start to actually think you are the character. This happens with method actors who become the character to have a better impact on the film/television show.

stay in your lane

The principal still remains, stay in your lane. Be happy that you have a career where you can showcase your talents. Don’t bow it trying to live up the hype of what a chosen few want you to be.

ART AND THE WORLD AROUND US: HOW OUR CREATIONS SAY A LOT ABOUT OUR SOCIETY

art, creative, creativity

“It’s what takes place in the moment of conception.”

the arts

We as people have always used art as a means to convey an image we see in our minds. It doesn’t matter if its a cave painting from thousands of years ago, or if its a someone using their digital drawing pad with a computer software today. We are always trying to convey some sort of message with what it is we’re drawing, writing, photographing, painting, singing, or sculpting.

art in real time

When looking at art, it usually conveys a meaning of what is going in our world at the moment. And we don’t fully appreciate it until later on in life. We look back and say to ourselves, oh, I wonder what was taking place Related imagethat made this artist do this piece of art. And when enough time has elapsed, people have no connection to the situation which generated the art you see, but makes people guess what was taking place.

looking to the future

Now, I said prior that art is created from the things we see in the moment. But what about the art that aims at how life will look in the future. These are the people who design art from the perspective of how they think something might look in the future. The art could be of a painting of how skyscrapers might appear, but we don’t appreciate it until 50 years later to see how much has change.

in their heads

Into the heads of the artist is an interesting place. We wish we could understand what made this artist create this image. What would make a human’s brain conjure up such an image. But we don’t know, and there lies the great mystery of the artist imitation of life.

COLOURS: WHY I HAVE DECIDED TO GET INTO PHOTOGRAPHY

adult, Analogue, aperture

“The art direction and production design: practice in lieu of filmmaking.”

I am currently in the process of making my second short film. In the meantime, I am working on this blog, writing my novel & book of short stories, and thinking about what screenplay to write next. But filmmaking is so much of a hustle that I am going to need a consistent pay. But I don’t want to be out of the groove of things as it pertains to the artistic aspect of filmmaking. And that’s when it hit me, photography. And not necessarily because I am a huge fan of photography itself. It’s the artistic direction, the production design, and the person being shot in frame. Lately, I have been interested in the fashion world’s photographic imaging.

I guess you wonder, what does this have to do with filmmaking. To me, a lot; it has a lot to do with making film simply because of the in frame imagery. Not long ago I sat down and started coming up with ideas for various photo shoots that drive that imagery out of me. And the reason why I felt close to fashion is because of the artistic direction that is similar to the picturesque look I want to achieve through film. I love the use of colors in telling a story. And being able to tell a story through imagery is is like putting together my storyboarding. What’s interesting is that photographers have a story board process as well. Another type of photography interesting to me is food photography.

You ever been driving down the road and see a billboard. Or better yet walking down the street and your eye catch the sight of a sign out front of a restaurant. The photo on the billboard or signage on the street has always been of interest to blur, breakfast, close-upme. I always wanted to know the process of how they achieve the look they do for the food. Then I did a little research and found how they set everything up. The process is just as interesting. Even when photographing a meal, you are telling a story in that frame. Which is yet another reason why I have come to respect photography.

And in the end, that is my real connection to photography. Being able to tell a story in pictures is what you must do after writing your script. Explain in pictures/animation what you are aiming to achieve with this script. This will aid in working with your artistic director and production designer. So for me, like I said earlier, fashion has that interesting artistic and production aspect I find interesting. Because it’s the combination of the look of the photos, background, and clothing worn by the models. Hopefully the journey to where I want to be is as enjoyable as it has been so far.
