“MICKEY MOUSE ON DEMAND.”
WALT
Disney is an entertainment multinational conglomerate that has been providing us with a fun experience for nearly a century. And they have always been at the forefront of change in multimedia. So it came as no surprise witnessing companies like Netflix, Hulu, Vimeo, and Amazon generate staggering revenues in the entertainment space, Disney would follow.
FINDING THEIR PLACE
Disney is some unknown company jumping into a space they know nothing about or have a fan base. It’s a rusted name that even their competition grew up on as children. And with Disney acquiring 20th Century FOX, they have such leverage in their ability to control content. They now own ABC Television and a large portion of FOX programming.
This does not only put them in the game for films and television series, but also news, sports, and more development for future content.
PUSHING OUT THE COMPETITION
Now, with Disney in the game, someone stands a chance of being removed from the equation. They have the ability to force someone out because they have so much control already in the entertainment business. So, who will be the first to be pushed out, or lose a large amount of the market?
