NEWERTAINMENT: WHEN DID BROADCASTERS BECOME LIARS

Photo of Man in Gray Coat

“Truth in lies.”

news media

Our news media for the longest was supposed to provide us with up to date information regarding daily life. This is more geared toward local television, with the more nationwide or worldwide coverage informing everyone of life elsewhere. But over the recent years, the mass media has taken a beating because of their takes on subjects.

Doesn’t matter if it’s political or even social. Every news outlet has a core audience that want to hear something from their perspective and not necessarily the true story. So whatever narrative they want to promote, they tend to promote it for that day.

lost market share

The news, both local and national has lost a lot of their share of the market, due to other competition. And that competition is the average Joe who now has a voice in the story. And they don’t have to go through a boss telling them what they can and cannot write. So now, someone not a member of the press has unconfirmed information in their hands.

Why unconfirmed? Well because the news used to sit down and vet the information to see if it adds up and make sense. Now there is a rush to get the information out first so someone who does not have press credentials don’t write it first.

regain confidence

Can the press gain our trust back? Because it’s hard to believe anything that comes from their mouths when they are in such a rush to get a story out that it’s not even true. So now, unlike the distant pass, they have to have someone stationed in every city across the country. Only problem is that a lot of the major incidents occur in small places without major news outlets.

Maybe, just maybe, the national outlets that we know of are going to slowly fade and smaller programming will benefit people more. Because at this moment, it seems like more of a battle for ratings than an actual story.

YES YOU MAY: AMERICA AND OUR PERMISSION TO FIGHT BACK

“Speak when allowed, how come?”

In America today, we are constantly surrounded with controversy. Whether it’s the president or some other person in the public eye. But what I will never understand is how come we need so much permission to have a voice for ourselves. It’s almost as if the people can’t think for themselves. In the recent news we have been hearing about Hollywood Executive Producer Harvey Weinstein sexual misconduct over the years. And people have been coming out stating how they knew he was this type of person for years. But how come no one openly spoke about it. We hold truths inside and then when we get permission to speak we speak. And the only reason why this has become irritating is because of the self-serving attitude of Hollywood’s elite public figures. How could they be so social and yet so protective of Harvey. And its because they get permission.

But, you’re getting permission to speak, what about the issues. You always hear celebrities speak out against bad behavior, but they always find themselves in the middle of controversy for those same reasons. They attacked Trump for sexual comments he made and stated their upset with rape culture. But rape is bigger in their environment. And what will they say, my career is on the line. So were coaches jobs at Penn State, but you can’t protect pedophilia. And that’s when you realize as an adult you have to make immoral decisions to survive in America. You have to see things going on and keep your mouth shut. Crazy because as a child you are taught that when you see something say something. But no one prepares for a life of falsehoods. No tells you that there is no honor in being honest. That at every turn, honesty will get you killed. And why do we do it again: survival.

That’s right, survival. Since the beginning of time, man has made numerous attempts at surviving on this planet. And we have done just well for ourselves. But as it pertains to living with each other, we continue to fail one another. And we lie for each other because no one wants to feel ostracized. So we do things to each other and for each other that is out of character. Sometimes it could leave our better judgement under question. And that’s how wind-up back  having to survive, we don’t want to lose a gig. So we sacrifice better judgement for a check. And it’s because if we do take a stand, few will back us, and even fewer will fight with us. So we keep quiet, not realizing that our silence at times is just as dangerous as the person’s lies we’re covering.

And in the end, we get permission to speak out against someone. And that’s when we can open up about all the bad things they have done. And the populace is stunned, and you become relieved. But relief is short lived because you know that is just the tip of the iceberg. There are more bad guys, a lot more.

CONSPIRACY TRUTHER: WHY IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE THE CONSPIRACY THEORISTS

Image result for conspiracy

“Maybe the conspiracy guys are a little off in their thinking.”

In my life, I have heard the different conspiracy theories regarding major events that have taken place that have reshaped our society. And when I say major events I’m referring to the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, 9/11 terrorist attacks, or even going far back as the Kennedy assassination. There have and will always be these conspiracy theorists who feel the people have been duped. Duped, yet they have the real answers as to what actually took place. But do they really have all the answers? Are they so convinced that they are now going down a rabbit hole like the people they attack. I have come to a conclusion regarding conspiracy theorists.

As with any belief in anything, you have the people who are going to stand on the opposing side of the argument. Meaning, the believers that the bible is the book of the word of God. And then you have the other side that believes that the bible is just a book written by man. Now if you are seeking to discredit the bible, then the information you come up with will be strong Related imageagainst. Not just because the information might be right, but because you’re on the opposing view. So of course you will have the right answers in your mind, you’re entering with a bias view. Now, we can’t fully eliminate bias from our minds, but if your view is so strong against, you’re going to convince yourself. So what must you do if you have a strong theory.

I would suggest you not only come up with your right ways, but also the opposing view ways. Meaning, if I don’t believe 9/11 happened, present to me all the ways it could have happened. Then present to me after your way it couldn’t have happened the way the government say it did. This way, you have done the research of the yourself, and the person who you’re up against. But if you just provide your proof, then you actually sound like the opposite end of the spectrum of the person you’re talking about. That is what makes good researchers great. I’m skeptical on both sides because both are on such extreme sides. But, what is another reason why it’s so hard to believe in the theory.

The other reason it’s so hard is because the secrecy of people. To keep something of the magnitude of the events that are supposed to be cover ups is too massive to keep secret. For example, look at the guy who shot Osama Bin Laden. He could not wait to tell the world that he is the one that shot Related imageBin Laden. He is not that much different from a lot of people. When you understand what we are as a species, then you know enough to understand why we can’t hold on to something so strong. And that is proven through the conspiracy theorists. They can’t wait to figure out what is going on to thrust it onto the world. They are not that much different than the people they are saying have this elaborate scheme. Both people are proof that a secret cannot be kept in a certain group.

But there is also another aspect of why conspiracy theories are so hard to believe, and that is the brilliance of our system. I wish the people in our system was as smart as the theorist make them out to be. But when you observe on a daily basis their productivity, you just can’t help but to further question the theorists. You listen to the conspiracy and the theorists are smarter than the people they are chasing after. Don’t get me wrong, I do think there are people who have been set up by government. But the level of ingenuity doesn’t exist in our government. If Apple or Microsoft wanted to pull off a conspiracy I am more apt to believe it than the government.

In the end, the conspiracy is hard to believe because the credit given to the conspirators are too much. It’s hard for so many people to believe in the truth as well because it means we are vulnerable. It means that we are not as smart as we think we are; and the conspiracy gives validity to people we assume know better. Because if they are lost and they are the leaders, then where does that leave the rest of society.

CONSPIRACY THEORIST: WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR PEOPLE TO BELIEVE WITHOUT QUESTIONING

American flag, CCTV, closed-circuit television

“People have a hard time facing truths.”

With so much that has been going on throughout history, we are unable to make sense of all of it. Especially major events that have reshaped our country. This is where the men and women who are skeptics about the event start to pop up all over the place. They start to develop all these conspiracy theories out of not being able to make sense out of what has happened. And in my lifetime I have witnessed a few events that have gone on to become conspiracy theories. One of them being the September 11th attacks which targeted the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon.

After the evens of 9/11, all types of videos started to pop up. But why is it so hard for people to believe that something like this actually happened? One of the reasons I came up with, is the idea that people were vulnerable. We are made to believe that our nation is the strongest on Earth, yet these few men came in and struck our nation. So it leaves people confused as to why this was allowed to happen. And when no answers are brought forward, or answers that don’t sound too right people start to make a fuss. In reality, we hate to admit that we are left vulnerable and there is nothing you can do about it. That fear is enough to start raising some questions.

But is this the only reason that people believe in conspiracies. Another reason is because of the fact that we don’t believe people are as smart to plan things that we plan. For example, the moon landing for years have been seen as a fake mission. For some reason the conspiracy theorist can’t wrap their minds around the idea that man is smart enough to leave this planet. So the theories start about the mission actually being a film or just a series of fake trick photography. To these people they say things like, “All these hungry people in the world, these few people are smart enough to go to the moon.” “Yet we can’t figure out how to feed ourselves.” But this is a false equivalency, just because there are smart people don’t mean the society is better off. It means those chosen are better; we are better if they choose to help.

One last reason people have the theories they do is because it makes the story more exciting to say there is a conspiracy. The story becomes more mystifying if the situation has conspiracies surrounding it. So the people sit down and concoct an idea of what could have happened. And you will be surprised what you can come up with if you focus hard enough on it. See, in the end, people just need to know there is more to what just happens. We would love to know that we have more information, than we are lead to believe. It’s what makes our lives something in a world where I individual lives mean nothing.

TOMI, OH TOMI: HOW AGENDAS ARE MORE FAKE THAN WE KNOW

Image result for TOMI

“Which side are you on?”

Conservative talk host of The Blaze’s Tomi Lahren was suspended this past week amidst comments she had made while on air. They weren’t her usual conservative views, but views that swayed a little in the opposite direction. These views got her suspended from The Blaze. Now, people on the left would see this as a good thing. I myself lean a little more left than right, yet I had to take a closer look at this one. Tomi Lahren has been outspoken for quite some time regarding her political viewpoints. But now she’s suspended for statements regarding pro-choice on abortion. Hmm, I find it odd, well why odd.

We live in a country where you have to pick a side on a particular issue. If you pick that side then fine. But if you question something from that side which goes against the side you will lose big. It’s because agendas in America are about not crossing the viewpoint line. As long as you’re down for what I’m pushing, I’m fine with you. But the moment I disagree, I become the biggest piece of garbage around. It’s because we have factions, and a disagreement means a divide in the faction. This is a main reason why I can’t watch the news. They’re places where people fight for ratings, not necessarily seeking the truth in what they report.

What do I mean by the news, I mean both liberal (CNN) and conservative (FOX). And anytime I talk to people, they tend to have one station they patronize. But, since when is it rational to have one viewpoint in the world. How do you not challenge a belief system instead of blindly following. Yet if you challenge the belief you can lose a job. So what should you do in this world? Should you speak up and speak out, or shut up and fall in line? Are you going to take the righteous road or the say what’s expected of you road? Tomi Lahren honestly thought she could speak from her own morale. When in reality, you speak by way of who makes your career.

She received what amounted to a career assault on her person. Someone walked by groped her, and when she turned around to swat them away, the person had long gone. Now who do you complain to regarding this assault? But is it all the conservatives? My answer to that is absolutely not; it just happened to Tomi. There are plenty of liberals that are phony in their agenda. Men and women in the fashion industry ostracized Tiffany Trump at a runway show for the comments her father made. But let’s be clear, he is supposedly disrespectful toward women, yet they have spent years degrading women on their physical appearance. Trump is supposed to be bigoted, yet fashion designers use hundreds of models at fashion weeks, but when it comes to Black women their comment is same, “It’s not my astatic.”

Not my astatic has been used so much when describing working with Black people, that it has become subject for much debate. Hollywood actors stand and criticize, yet would never throw a Hollywood executive’s name under the bus for excluding minorities from acting roles or women from directing jobs. So the left is just as bad as the right. In the end, there is no real side to take. Now the book 48 laws of power speaks against standing alone. Yet standing with a group is just as dangerous in society. I guess agendas will always be apart of our world. In that case, there will always be a constant rotation of Tomi’s being ripped for showing that divide in the faction as well.

INTELLECTUAL CIVILIZATIONS ON THE RISE: HOW THE MIND MAKES US AWARE AND LESS HAPPY

Related image

“Our minds are growing, but it’s hurting us.”

Unlike the people of the past, we are becoming more and more aware of our surroundings. We are becoming more and more aware of who we are as a people as well. Yet, the more we become aware, the more depressed we become. But it’s not our fault, it’s the basis of what we are as people. Human curiosity and advancement causes this to happen. Meaning, we want advancements in medicine and science as well as technology, so long as it does not interfere with social norms and religion. But you can’t have an advanced civilization and not challenge these beliefs in the process. Because the advancements heightens the mind and you become more aware. Then you challenge the beliefs of the past.

What are some things that we have become more aware about. For starters, relationships, and when I say relationships I mean marriage. The more you learn about what it means the more you get turned off. People say you do it for love, but you don’t need to marry someone to love them. Marriage is not a molecule or virus that takes form. If two people go to work and come home to raise children, do you really “need” marriage. You water, food, clothing, and shelter, not marriage. But society has constructed our minds to make us think it does when in reality nothing happens. You go to work come home, go to work and come home. So why do we need it? Well, in the past women couldn’t work. So she had to marry a man so she could be cared for. But if he died or left the family, she was screwed. So laws had to be created stating that a woman is entitled to something if the marriage shall end. So marriage is not love, it’s entering a contract that aids in protecting a woman in case the man leave or pass away. The relationship is the love.

But is marriage the only way that we have become mentally aware and more unhappy? What about friendships? A friend is supposed to be another person who you enter a non-intimate relationship with whom you share common bond with in life. Our awareness of friendships have been relegated to likes on social media. Instead of conversations we text message each other. There use to be time you remembered people’s telephone numbers, and now we have contacts we touch to call them. Our awareness have caused us to take people who are true friends for granted because if I have ten good friends I hang with and you have 100k people who follow you on Instagram, then you’re more important with the 100k. So instead of building relationships, we’re more interested in the statistical aspect of building; quantity over quality.

Now, we still haven’t reached to the full extent why higher levels of awareness has made us smarter, yet more lonely and unhappy. And the main reason is that in today’s society unlike any other time in history, we are constantly bombarded and inundated with information. Unlike our parents, we don’t have to wait until we reach a certain age to understand life. There is enough information to know everything now. So much so, we consume, consume, consume, then dump. We’ve become human locust, where we eat all the resources. Once there is nothing left, we dump the place where we got our resources. It’s the reason why Google is such a big deal because there are billions of pages of information. No one human can find out everything in Google, which is why they are such an attractive organization; unlimited information.

In the end, people of an older generation question, what’s the downside of too much information. And with anything, there is the upside and downside. The downside is that it tends to make us more depressed once we figure the truth behind what we’re looking for in life. It can also make us more detached from reality. But there is an upside to the information. Those in power will have to work even harder to do their jobs because it’s becoming too hard to trick the masses. With apps, social media, and access to more documents than the government has access to, they at times are last to know information. So there is a forced transparency with how they operate. But whatever the outcome, we will do as past generations have done when met with adversity. Adjust to the changes or die as a result of not being able to cope in an ever-changing society.

WHY WE LIE: MEN AND OUR INABILITY TO TELL WOMEN THE TRUTH

lip

“I blame us for them not knowing.”

Women have so many questions as to why men act the way we act and talk the way we talk. But what about why we refuse to be honest with women. Well, a lot of us as men are afraid to be honest because we fear the rejection. We don’t want to give women any reason to say no. So what do we do, we tell them what they want to hear so we can get what we want. But is it always that simple, an in and out exchange. Sometimes it is, and other times we do it because we flat out don’t know what to say to women.

Well, let’s break down a little more why we lie. You see, initially, we look and see a woman for the physical. It is an ecstatic attraction right off the back. Then, the next goal is sexual, while a woman is the opposite. But we can’t come out and say that, yet women know to a certain extent that’s what you want. So you start to develop relationships not just to sleep with the woman, but you’re still in the sexual mode. Yet you build the relationship nonetheless. So why? Why do you continue to build if you came for the physical situation?

We continue to build because even as sexual as we are because in all, most humans are good people. Yet we also have this natural aspect to us that makes us want more. We want to act as if we are higher than the animal kingdom, but we are the same. The reason it’s so hard for us to communicate what we are is also because we have this conscious. The animal aspect about us is tough to talk about because that feeling has been determined to be problematic and not accepted in society. Meaning, we can’t come out right and say what we really feel because we are supposed to filter that emotion and say the right things. But we know that it is a true feeling.

In the end, we have a hard time being honest because of the social construct that won’t allow you to do so.  But it also has to do with a natural aspect of us that we have a hard time communicating because it is very internal. An internal feeling that is so hard to communicate because it’s not considered acceptable. And that’s what keeps us from admitting the truth. We can be honest, but the honest feeling is considered bad. So a lot of times we keep the emotion hidden and lie our way through life. Hoping no one finds out the truth.

FADING OUT: HOW RELIGION IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING

Image result for RELIGION dead

“Rapidly disappearing and I think I know why.”

With every passing year, the number of people who are listed as non-religious continuously increases. What is this due to in our society? Will the trend continue or slow down? See, for thousands of years, man has tried to understand where we came from as a species. We aim to understand why we think the way we think and behave in a certain manner also. Is it mental or is it real? Are we really a deity creation or just an organism that eventually passes and that is it. There are a number of factors that play a role in this phenomenon as it pertains to losing religion, but I can think of a few right off the back. The reasons I came up with were scientific studies, control, and wars fought.

For starters, let’s observe science. Throughout history man has tried to gain insight into the world by means of scientific proof. Being that religion is unchanging in an ever changing world, it puts itself in a tough position. Science is such a threat because scientific findings obliterate the belief. Well, how so? Humanity is living longer and longer. A lot of this is due to the advancements in technology and modern medicine. So the burden of proof forces you to look at the logic of your beliefs with such quantum advancements. It is so strong, it’s almost like the belief thousands of years ago that the Earth was flat. Scientist understood that it was round, which went against beliefs in the past. But now we accept the Earth as round. So scientific proofs hurt beliefs because there is such strong evidence. Science can afford to be wrong, religion cannot.

Another reason for the dip in religious following is because of the control. As an American citizen, we have heard that Christian beliefs are under attack. But are they really? Are people really attacking the belief, or the belief enforced on others who choose to live differently? For example women’s roles in society and Gay marriage. You may not agree, but only one group is making a move to stand in from of it. And it’s that control that people have become divided on. What’s even crazier is that the people who fight for their belief have at times been caught up in controversy themselves. Whether it’s Catholicism and sexual assault convictions or politicians who have been found out to be Gay, pushing against Gay initiatives.

Then again, there are the other reasons why religion has diminished. And that has to do with wars. Wars, mostly in today’s society, are fought throughout the Middle East stem from something having to do with religion. Even in America, there are wars, more so involving verbal disputes, but wars nonetheless, over religion. So much so, that collectively, the populace have gotten rather fed up with the idea that yet another war could be fought. Why, because it is our youth who could lose their lives. Continuous death, until a collective of people finally stand in front of the fighting. So what now? Do we fight against thousands of years of ritualistic practices or accept it as truth? Is man ready to look at life as this is it? Or, is there more to the notion of us being created by a deity? Whatever the case, the numbers are dropping for those who believe. So a real debate is in need for a “collective” reason as to why.
