HAVING THE SKILLS: HOW TO MAKE MONEY IN AMERICA

U.s. Dollar Banknote Lot

“How to take time and patients.”

what is money

Money is the tangible and intangible form of payment for a good or a service. And how does money work, meaning, the transferring of money from hands to hands and its impact on our lives. This is when you have to start to realize what yours do for you. What does your money do for you? And, how does your money work on a daily basis? You would be surprised how many people don’t know the answer to these questions. They look at you and say, “What do mean how it works?” Well, basically, what I am saying is when you work however many hours in a day adding up to a certain amount based off of your hourly wage, what are your needs to be fulfilled before wants?

my circulation

You work 30 hours in a week, for $20 per hour, that’s $600. Let’s assume that the government takes 20%, leaving you with $480 after taxes. Now you have to look at that and say to yourself, assuming you make that per week for a month, $1,520 for the month. What the hell do I do with it? Well, let’s assume you leave in a cheaper city or town where rent is $600 and then factor in utilities, food, transportation, and personals. Now you’re down to about $300 to $400 left. What you do with that leftover money says a lot about how much you know your circulation of dollars. Are you making now decisions (clothes, leisure, etc.) or later decisions (stocks, bonds, etc.)? Most people think that leftover money is for spending after your bills are met. They know how their money work, but don’t understand what it could do for them. But most of all, they are assuming it will keep coming.

making it means ___________

Here is where the real topic of today comes into play, how do you harness a skill to make money? See, earning a wage is not necessarily harnessing a skill to earn money. Having a much needed skill that earns you a living means something a little more specialized. Because working at McDonald’s is earning a living, but it is not a skill that can be translated into something more a lot of times. For me, learning photography and writing, that means I am harnessing a skill that takes a lot of learning and time. But it also means sacrificing now, by purchasing equipment that won’t mean money now, hopefully, key word, hopefully later. Now that you have the skill, do you have marketing and advertising skills to put yourself in position.

mental game

Opening your mind to all the opportunities to harness a skill then to go off and make an income means focus. And I don’t mean focus like reading a book. I mean, like me for example, where I will walk the streets and my eyes immediately zoom in on a specific area and then I take a picture. That is how my photography comes along, and I am starting to even get a feel for how it should look in portrait, landscape, standard as well as color adjustments in camera. That technical know how means taking a lot of photos and editing as well. So when you are in the process of doing, the mind makes sense of the world around you to bring things together. But if you are not doing, you will struggle. Then again, you also need to have a skillful eye that takes time as well.

THE LOGIC AGAINST THE EMOTION: WHY THE PUSH AGAINST IMMIGRATION WON’T WORK

barbed wire, barrier, blur

“Build it longer, stronger, still won’t help.”

immigration

Since the presidential run of Donald Trump, the sentiment of protecting our borders and removing illegal immigrants from the country have been a topic of discussion. And for the most part, these immigrants have come from countries south of the United States borders. Not too many from Canada, throughout Europe, Africa, or Asia; but from Mexico and Central America. And my criticism of the removal is not because mainly the separation of families and protecting borders. It’s about the sentiment; this held belief of immigrants taking jobs. We need to breakdown the thought of what it is to take a “job” and what are those “jobs” that are really being taken away. LET’S OBSERVE.

the job of the American born

In the United States, since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, we have held on strong because of the work coming from manufacturing. And over time, we have seen a lot of those jobs removed and taken to overseas nations where the cost of manufacturing is cheaper. This way, by the time it (the product) hits the U.S. soil, we are seeing a price that is a direction relationship of architecture, building, businessthe business conducted by the corporations themselves with outside country’s manufacturing. Now, here in the United States, with so many factories closing, you have a lot of small cities and towns throughout the country shutting down as well because they cannot afford to compete. If you’re an American manufacturer making televisions selling for $500 how do you compete with a better quality flat screen for $275 – $300. Eventually you have to shut down.

the job of the illegal immigrant

Coming to the United States to seek out a better way of life. That is the main goal for so many trying to gain access to our country. And for those who go through the rigorous process that can take years, they feel it was worth the wait. And then there are the people who take it upon themselves to risk breaking the laws of the land in crossing over the borders by land or by sea in Image result for mexican flagsearch of a better life. Many have known to come from the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Haiti, being that they are so close to the state of Florida. And the bulk of the group that come through America’s borders do so through Mexico.

the jobs they have

In the United States today, there is a held belief that the jobs are being taken by illegals in America. Well, let’s observe what that means. Since Trump has taken office, illegal immigrants have been detained throughout the country and forced back to their homelands. A move that has directly challenged policies like that of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) created by the Obama administration put forth in the summer of 2012. And Americans have both praised and protested the push to remove and separate families. And the idea of jobs being preserved for the hard working American who are losing out to illegals has an underlying problem. Fast Food industries consisting of delivery drivers, servers, busboys, cooks, and cleaners; the hospitality industry of maids, bellboys, and other cleaning crew make up the majority of the jobs worked by illegal immigrants. What’s interesting, is since removing these families, the Americans finding fault with illegal immigration have not shown interests in those jobs. Why because they find it hard to raise a family on the income from working those jobs. So if the reason for removing illegals for the “most part” is preserving jobs and the jobs they are working you don’t want, what is the real threat?

evolution tech-solution

We say, we need to protect our borders from drugs, never works. Let’s protect our borders from violent crime, but the majority of the real threat are American born citizens. And the big one, we need to protect American jobs. But see, the real killer of American employment is technological innovation. The work that could provide for your families are or have become obsolete. That’s why you must have a more specialized skill to earn a living. The jobs like factory repetitive assembly work is not like it used to be. You now have more engineers working the machines that would in the past take multiple people for the processing of goods. And if you’re fighting technological innovation, you’re in a losing battle. Because the country, our continent, with world will not stop evolving through means of innovation and invention simply because you and I can’t keep up. We’re in a game today; a game of either evolve or get left behind.

MADE IN AMERICA: WILL WE EVER SEE ANOTHER INDUSTRIAL STYLE REVOLUTION AGIN

architecture, building, empty

“WE used to build thing.”

american made

Throughout American history, we prided ourselves on reading labels that read, “Made in the U.S.A.” But now, with so many jobs being shipped overseas to China, we are leaving behind that great American Dream we once thought to be true. Why, well, it’s a lot cheaper to make goods in a foreign country rather than in America. Also, making products here is more difficult to compete globally.

going global

Do we need to go global with everything? And the answer is yes, we do. If you understand on industry is set up, you do. Meaning, people will say, make products in America, then run out and purchase a Toyota. Make it in America, then run out and buy a Samsung. And then we wonder why we can’t compete as a country. So what people say, and their actions are totally different.

Also, if we isolate ourselves, there are products that contain chemicals, herbs, and priceless metals that are not indigenous to the United States. So we couldn’t build anything because you’re talking about needing these priceless products for our innovation. Nothing is actually of this land that we need that we can do for ourselves.

a new beginning

In today’s society, we are more of a information based society than a hands on society. The internet has opened the door to a whole host of opportunities. Opportunities where the small guy can now be his own boss and work from home. You don’t need anyone telling what to work on, and when to work. But that is easier said than done because you have to build.

And the building means years of disappointment before reaching the end goal. That is a journey so many don’t want to take in life because of the degree of failure. But one thing is certain America is not, and can’t go back to the way things were in the past.
