BELIEF IS ACTIVE: HOW OUR BELIEFS EFFECT OTHERS IN SOCIETY

“It’s how society should be.”

how the lord intended it to be

In America today, so much of our beliefs effect how we all live our lives. An to a degree, how other countries lives, especially if they are allies can have an effect as well. When you believe something to be true, no matter what, people are going to push their will on society. We don’t just do it for religion, we do it for other things as well. If I want to live my life a certain way and others around agree, you are forced to fall in line. And what’s crazy is that living in America you should have the freedom to not be apart of something if you shall choose. But if you don’t align yourself with the status quo, then you will find yourself in a tough jam. The thing is, why do we care so much about each others’ beliefs?

the psychology of man

The reason humans have to enforce will has to do with us as a creature. As a creature we are endowed with the ability to have beliefs and have free-will. And for some reason, we seem to think that since we have these things it is supposed to mean something. When in reality what we believe to be true and what is actually true is different. I would love to believe a lot of things in our world, but the reality is, I have to decipher what is more important. So many people refuse to admit that a lot of what we believe is just not valid. If you have ten beliefs, only three are important. But then you get into this argument of well who gives you the right. Then from there is if it’s not important, why do I feel this way? So you just let them ramble, and as long as they don’t negatively effect society, you leave them be. Because it is only their lives they waste by jamming everything into their lives.

evolution says a lot

Being the carbon based lifeforms that we are, we learn and grow and understand the world around us. So the more we learn about self, the more we realize how complex the mind is, but how mundane we live and behave. So a lot of human beliefs are actually falling apart. Well at least the ones we have come to know over time. Because you cannot expect us to carry the same thoughts forever on Earth. So what happens is new ones replace outdated ones. So who knows in the future what the new-new-new ones will be.

MONTHS FOR CULTURE: MAY AND JUNE

“Be apart of the experience.”

whether shared or not

No matter if we come from a similar culture, the same culture, no similar what so ever, we all come from a culture. And that one word is very broad depending on what you mean by culture. Because we can come from the a different religion, ethnic group, and region of the world, but if we listen to the same music, it’s a shared culture. Now, a straight forward more understandable cultural definition would be a custom, value system, belief, or region of the world from which people have a strong bond in the close quarters of this particular group of people. So when you hear of someone with a Yakama, you right off the back know I am referring to someone who is Jewish. Whenever I show you an image of someone who is praying in front of a cross you know they have a string connection to Christianity. So there are identifiers that allow you an understanding as to what group is who.

culture to you not to me

There are cultural norms that belong to certain people that others may not like that don’t reflect their beliefs. This is very obvious in religion when you have the three major religions: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. But you also have sects under each of those that may be different than the sects, which are subsects. So for example you have Christianity, but all Christians don’t look at the religion from the same standpoint. So now you have Lutherans, Catholics, Baptist, Evangelist, Methodist, Mormon, Jehovah’s Witness, Seven Day Advantage, and Protestant that fall under some form of Christianity. But then, for example, I grew up Baptist, and you have Southern Baptist and other regions of American Baptist, where all places have a different view. And in each of these sects and subsects there are practices that people under the same category that is Christian don’t agree with.

shared experience different culture

Our experiences are similar yet our culture is different. And can easily be seen in the entertainment that we create for our consumption. Meaning a Trekkie is a Star Trek fan, but a lot of these people come from very different cultural backgrounds. And yet they can sit in a room for hours and have conversations on the television show Star Trek. Same goes for music, there is a Punk music scene everywhere in the world. Now, I know nothing about Punk music or the style of dress, but it is a culture of its own with people who come from different other cultures. And with that said, I can’t wait for the months of May and June, because these will be two months dedicated to the topic of culture.

DO BETTER; BETTER THAN WHAT: DON’T LET YOUR GOAL BE SOMEONE ELSE’S DREAM FOR YOU

Related image

“Build yours or someone else’s.”

We all have these visions of the life we want. And for a lot of people, the dream is real. But what happens when you attain what you want, but then someone tries to make you feel like you should be doing more. They try to convince you that your life could be so much better. But if you allow them to invade your mind, then you can’t enjoy the satisfaction of what you initially wanted. And that’s what’s important; you living the best you that you can be. But why do people get in their minds that you should be doing what they want you to do? Part of it has to do with the idea that their opinion don’t matter and they want it to matter. And the other reason is to keep you from outshining them in what you do.

People want their opinions to matter. And when their opinions don’t matter, then you have to deal with their wrath. They get irritated at what you do, and feel that you should take their advice. They want you to be what they want you to be, and work how they feel you should be working. In their mind, they say, “Why isn’t this the way I like it.” And that has to do with the idea that people want you to succeed how they feel you should succeed. And when you’re doing things your way, outside the realm of what they think, then you’re breaking the rules. And rules is what they have been told to abide by. But the other reason people try to deter you from your dream is out of fear that you may surpass them.

The outshining aspect is, to a large degree, a big reason why people want you to take their cue. It will force you to grow at their pace. And it has a lot to do with the idea that if you make it quicker than it took them, then the road they took was for nothing. With that said, you have to do your best to remove yourself from these types of people. They are toxic and mean you no good. And not to mention these people will try to make you feel like you’re being disobedient by not listening to them. They’ll come up with every reason why you should be listening to them and not yourself. In the end, be able to distinguish those that are on your side from those that want you to fail. Follow your own drum beat, and don’t worry about others. You’ll make mistakes and hit a few roadblocks along the way, but hopefully you land on your feet.
