AGENDA CONNECTION: AIMING TO FIGURE OUT WHY WE TAKE CERTAIN STANCE

“I wish I felt what they felt.”

In society today, we all have these stance we take in regards to feeling a certain sentiment. And they are stance that people are so passionate about. But are all stance taken justifiable in the our spread of it? Are there times where a stance is taken and we should disregard the stance? When I hear about a message being spread; the awareness for an issue in society, I have a series of questions. First is why are people taking the stance, who is truly benefiting, and what is the solution? But a question that no ne seems to ask is of themselves. What if I were that person fighting for a particular cause. Sounds simple, yet so many don’t even bother.

Now, what I gain from hearing this all is, some days I wish I were a member of a certain fight, or even go as far as morphing into the bodies of the people. Then I could see their real sentiment. Because we have these editing systems as it pertains to how we converse. Yet the sentiment is something totally different than how we talk. Being able to place myself in the life of the person, I could see why they follow a movement. See, I pride myself on being a more transparent person, but it’s hard to get people to be just as honest. It’s hard to get people to move past the violin playing in a conversation.

And what do I mean by violin playing? I mean asking someone a question and then, you hear them playing a fine tune around the language. But why do we do it? We do it because we have formed these coalitions to take on anyone that says anything honest. So we teach other to be dishonest. And we remain silent as these groups take power. And by the time we have had enough, it’s too late, we have lost our voices. So I want to know, what is the end game of a lot of these causes? They say they are hoping to accomplish something, but are they really looking for a solution? Because a solution would mean dismantling the organization. And I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

See, in the end, I think that there are real causes. But with these causes is a certain segment of the population that go overboard. Why, well power corrupt that’s why. When a person takes your money in school, the bully won’t say thanks for Monday lunch. They take lunch the rest of the week. So even with an agenda that may be in the best interest of a group, we have to also make sure they are not dipping into their popularity in the process.

AMERIREICH: HOW RESTRICTING OUR RIGHTS COULD LEAD TO A NAZI GERMANY

Image result for usa flag

“Do you feel overtaken?”

In the United States today, more than ever before the control over ones language and what is allowed to say and not say has become problematic. And coupled with the inability for those in power to be honest, America could find itself in a world like a Nazi Germany. Now do I think there will be concentration camps and extermination, no. But I do think that certain aspects of the power structure such as disregarding media can happen. Focusing blame on a centralized group of people or ideology can happen. As far as the extermination, the masses will do that to themselves. And with little trust in media, how would you believe anything is really going on.

The people who are elected to power could cause this to happen. When you have people making promises that are not delivered as well as restricting people’s ability to express themselves how they want, it opens the door for bad leadership. People feel like they gave lost their voice and they become desperate. They become  so desperate that they’ll elect someone to office no matter how bad the ideas. As long as the person follows through with their policies, they’ll follow them. While at the same time, you’re given freedoms restricted by previous people in power.

For instance, we have become sensitive to language. Now you have people in charge telling you what you can and cannot say. Then if you go against the grain, you lose everything you’ve worked for in life. This new person comes along and does not restrict language. No matter how bad the language, we stand behind them because they gives us this ability. And while we have this ability, he/she also delivers on his/her promises. They can do no wrong in the eyes of the masses. Yet, what they’re doing really might not be in the best interest of the people. This is how radicals rise to power in civilizations. The previous way creates desperation in people that they’ll vote anyone who aligns themselves with their agenda.

Well why, why would this awful person rise to power. It can’t be all about the language and not holding up their end of the bargain. See, in my opinion, it all boils down to transparency. If you live in a nation where transparency is lacking, then a bad leader can infiltrate. An awful leader infiltrating the system can lead to an even more detrimental society. It will seem like they are for the people, but in reality they have their own agenda that benefits them. Pushing their causes and discrediting media for going against it. And since the confidence in media has diminished, the leader will now have greater control with less checks and balances.

See, in the end, restricting ones’ abilities to live freely while also not holding up your end of the bargain politically, will cause chaos in society. The type of chaos which could lead to a dictator coming into a system. Creating policies that are more harmful than helpful. But transparency is key; key to society rising or falling.

THE DONALD: WHY HE’S RELEVANT!

“The things we hate most about him.”

Make America Great Again! This is the exclamation that has been the premise for the 2016 election run for Republican and Presidential hopeful Donald J. Trump. He, over the past year, has what some call made some pretty inflammatory comments. But, if the comments from Donald are so inflammatory, then why has he not slowed down? He is not only still in the race, but has gotten stronger. What is it about Donald Trump that resonates with so many people? Well let’s start off by the comments that have people so upset.

In the beginning, Donald Trump was this fresh, new look into the Republican party. He is a television personality and business executive, not a politician. All the others were career politicians, with the exception of Ben Carson who is a physician. Initially, his comments excited people overall because he was seen as entertaining. But once he ventured into the social, that’s when everything changed. Trump’s comments regarding the Hispanic community as well as Muslims is what got the ball bouncing for the tension. But conversely, Trump gained an even larger fan base.

Well what was it? What has caused people to be on the side of Trump? Well, in my opinion, it’s the same reason why his opponents dislike him. For starters you have society push back against Trump. The communities that he has spoken of the most have protested him since the beginning. Mainly the Hispanic community regarding illegal immigration and his issue with radical Islam. Then he stated he felt more law enforcement is needed in already divided inner cities of Black communities. Now, all the celebrities are coming out as well.

But what is the biggest fear regarding Trump. It can’t be the fear he’s going to harm a lot of people. There is so many steps you have to go through to get anything accomplished in our government, that the odds of him doing what everyone fears is slim. No, our fear lies in the fact that Trump actually is a representation of us. Now you might go us, with everything he has said. But he truly is all of us. So where is the proof of it. I came to this conclusion the more public figures came out.

First with the Hollywood crowd that labeled Trump as a racist. Well hold the phone. Aren’t these celebs in an industry where a movie has a hard time receiving the budget because of the ethnic group in the film. So how can you point the finger at this guy and not address the individuals over here. They judged Trump for his misogynistic comments toward women, but these same people will tell a woman she’s not qualified for a movie role because of her age. It’s like they talk the ultra liberal agenda, but don’t live by it. Speaking of women, even professional athletes have stepped forward. Oddly enough, these same athletes have over 90% divorce rates in their leagues due to infidelity. Or the fact that  these men can’t wait to settle into their hotels whenever on the road, so they can enjoy the local strip clubs. Or our musicians who put together lyrics expressing their own sexual conquest of women.

So why has society become this dishonest. Like I said before, he is actually us. We disagree with what Trump says, but it is not foreign to the ear. Meaning, had he have said Muslims need to be enslaved or placed in concentration camps, there would be more outrage. Why, well this view is foreign to us in America because we don’t live that way anymore. Until it is foreign to the ear what he says, then he or guys like him will always have relevance. You see, Donald Trump is one big mirror. So every time he speaks there is an aspect I see of him in everyone. Instead of saying we all do say these things, and work to fix them, we act as if they don’t exist or never heard of them.

And that is why his presidential run is so strong. News journalists ask questions regarding something that Trump has said or done and get the PC reply. And the reply is so obvious that it’s a lie, his following gets stronger. He is karma for dishonest people. If America was honest with itself, he wouldn’t be around. But for some reason, you can’t get people to see themselves. So he is not what the country does not need, he is a true representation of what America really stands for under the surface. So when he says things I go, oh, ok. There is no real reaction because the outrage is not consistent throughout society.

In the end, even though I am not a Trump supporter, I get the lure. People are frustrated with not only the employment market, but the social landscape of America. People are irritated at how we refuse to not be honest. But most of all, people are mad because they want to be honest, but anything will get you labeled in today’s society. My view is that as long as people talk in soundbites and tip toe around responses there will always be a Trump. He is necessary; whether you like him or not, his presidential run is necessary.

SECRETS: How Much Do You Really Know About Your Spouse.

Image result for trust

“Are you hiding something?”

You meet someone, and you start dating. Before you know it, you’re moving in with this person. Eventually the topic of marriage comes up. But by this time, you should already know a lot about the person you’re planning on spending the rest of your life with; or not. My last post talked about people’s debt situation. But what about secrets someone is keeping. What about infidelity, hiding money, sicknesses, and/or internalized torment.

First let’s analyze infidelity in a relationship. Could your intimate relationship survive if you knew your significant other has cheated sometime during the relationship. Does it matter, even if the incident happened once? I think women are more apt to accept the cheating once than we are as men. You know what, on second thought, once, how about multiple times cheating. Yet there are still those women out there who say absolutely not. Not under any circumstance would she accept cheating.

Now, is that the worse secret one could keep from a marital partner. How about hiding money in a secret bank account or in the form of cash in a safe? How would you react to finding out this person had a secret stash? A rainy day stash just in case they needed to leave the relationship. This way they are financially set in the case you want to leave them hanging dry. It is kind of offsetting to find out someone has plan B.

You start to think in the back of your mind, “Am I not giving them enough?” “Maybe they’ve been planning on leaving me all along.” Dozens of questions go through your mind as to why someone would need an escape route out. But it’s not all about money or cheating. There have even been people that hide medical information from their spouse. This may be on par, if not worse than cheating. A sickness, especially something deadly could put the family in limbo.

You go to the doctor’s office and find out you’re having heart problems. Yet you never consult your spouse, but keep it to yourself. You die, and they never knew anything was wrong. Sounds quite selfish considering had that person have said something, preparations could have been made in the event of a tragedy. Then again, some things aren’t medical per say, but mental such as depression or stress.

The reason why I said medical per say is because depression and stress ( which can lead to depression) is not always a medical issue. Some people can work out their issues over time. But how comfortable are you to go to your spouse and say I’m depressed. It seems like a very uncomfortable experience. But shouldn’t you be able to go to your spouse and express yourself. Especially if you’re depressed. They should be the first person you talk to in these situations.

Yet on the other hand, personal torment can even be too great to tell a spouse. What if it’s not depression or stress, but gender identity. Imagine the upset if your spouse came to you opening up about their sexuality. Could you handle your husband or wife telling you they were gay or bisexual? I can see it now, “Hello dear, how has your day gone?” “Oh by they way I’m gay, can you pass the peas.” Or, “Sweetie, we need to talk.” “I think I’m bisexual.”

There is no real way to break the news to your spouse. Because any way you explain yourself is going to be the wrong way. So with all that has been said, can your relationship survive secrets. If so what secrets, and what is the severity of those secrets. In the end it all depends on the person and their threshold for what you are about to tell them.

TRUMPED!

America is at a critical point today, especially with the election of our next president. We are now down to two candidates: Hilary Clinton and Donald J. Trump. Hilary Clinton a Democrat, who is the wife of our former president William “Bill” Clinton and former Secretary of State of Barack H. Obama. The next candidate is a businessman and television personality Donald J. Trump who is representing the Republican side. You may ask yourself, if we are dealing with two politicians why call the article, “Trumped.”

The reason the article is called, “Trumped,” is because his effect on the election process in America. Donald Trump, whether you’re a fan of his or not, has really tapped into the psyche of citizens in America. While on this campaign trail he has been labeled a racist and gender bias; pushing a campaign that many consider to be quite divisive. Well why is he considered to be such a polarizing figure. Well let’s start off by  discussing the comments he made regarding illegal immigration.

In his initial run, he made comments early pertaining to Mexican men and women flocking to the United States over the Mexican/American border. His views on the matter were that, “Mexico is bringing over their worsts.” “They’re robbing and raping, some of them are good.” These comments sent a wave of criticism through the news outlets. What could have easily been disregarded as a verbal faux pas had he explained what he meant to say, he refused. In addition to being labeled racist, he would go on to state his disdain toward radical actions from the Islamic community. These comments were also seen as insensitive and xenophobic by members of the general public as well. In addition to these two comments, his perceived gender bias comments toward news anchor Megyn Kelly just added more kerosene to the fire.

Yet, even though he was losing in one area, he was steadfast in his gain with the opposition to these criticisms. The ones’ who stood beside him felt upset and letdown. They harbored these feelings for what they felt was a mistake electing the current president. People expected more and felt as if they received the same status quo as every other leader prior. Barack represented change in his first election, but Donald Trump represents the upset at what Trump voters believe to be a lack of change. Trump voters felt the lack of transparency only continued from the last administration into the current one; and Trump spoke from the heart. You may not like what he says, but you can understand his sentiment. This resonates with the masses because the pervasive dishonesty that permeates our system has finally hit a boiling point.

Now do I think Donald Trump is racist, xenophobic, and gender bias? Even with his comments, tough to really say because racists, xenophobic, gender bias are more personal attacks. The fact that I don’t know him personally, I can only go off of what I see and hear. I do feel a detachment from reality. Now you may say, isn’t that a personal attack. Yes, but it’s not if there is circumstantial evidence. For example, in his interview with Matt Lauer he stated his father gave him a small loan of one million dollars to jump start him in business. Lauer was shocked, not mainly by the amount, but the matter of fact way in which he spoke of one million dollars. The way he expressed what his father had given him gave people a chance to see to an extent the personal aspect of him. He has been wealthy for so long he doesn’t realize how extreme it is to have one million dollars in hand as a start. Getting access to a $5,000 or $10,000 loan is a stretch for most people.

So this is where the detachment comes from. Another reason I say detached because him eating a taco bowl on Cinco De Mayo as a means to connect to his Hispanic voters is another case. I grew up with those type of individuals who were raised so detached from everyone they thought saying how much they like hip hop music was a means to connect to me because I am African American. But all they had to say was, “Hello,” “How are you doing?” So, my views touch on the personal, but my reasoning comes from the non-explicit comments or actions. What he said about Islam and Hispanics could have easily been dumped. But he tries so hard to not be politically correct guy, he starts to teeter on that line between honesty and ignorance (just because you’re honest doesn’t mean it’s something that should be coming out of your mouth).

Which is why he states that the Hilary Clinton’s campaign is baiting him. You know what, yes they are baiting him. Doesn’t mean you chase the bait. It’s like they dig a whole, every other politician goes to the edge and goes not I. Donald jumps in the whole with his feet kicked-up saying, “See, they trapped me!” It could ultimately be his demise as president. But whatever the outcome he has changed this entire process. Speaking in soundbites and coming off as disingenuous could hurt future candidates. Why? Because Trump has touched on something; not just racial, gender, and religious, but personal. And it’s quite interesting how this process will pan out moving forward.
