POLITICAL POWER SHIFT: HOW WILL THE GEOPOLITICAL MAP LOOK IN THE FUTURE

“Boundaries are constantly being carved: which will be next?”

You ever hear people say how much you can only see the landscape of the planet from space. And that man carves up all the boundaries. Well, yes that is true, but what will be the next boundary carving on Earth? I am only 30 years old, and I would really like to see how the landscape looks by the time I turn 50 years old. Or better yet, what if I live to be 90 years of age. Since 1987 when I was born there are countries who have merged with other nations and countries that are no longer countries. For example, you have the North and South Sudan, which used to be just Sudan. But what will happen with places like North and South Korea? Will they eventually just become Korea? Or will this be a long lasting country? Why do boundaries change? How do they change? Where will be the next boundary change?

The first and foremost reason as to why boundaries change has to do with the amount of conflict in the region. In the United States, there has been conflicts that have forced boundaries to change, but that was well over a century to two centuries ago. But there are places globally that have changed its boundaries and continue to change its boundaries. Outside of just conflicts, you have the political reason as to why the boundaries tend to change. For example, the European Union, where countries have either broken away or in the process of breaking away. One of those countries was Great Britain, which recently pulled away from the EU; an event that was known as BREXIT. Boundaries also change because you might have a neighboring country that is poorer than the other. So joining forces with the other country could be beneficial to that nation. Especially if the poorer nation is a smaller country. The addition might actually serve as a boost to the economic and sociopolitical morale of the nation.

Next you have to deal with with how do they change. And that is more complex today than in the past. In the past you would just ride through the country on horseback, and just conquer everything. Now that we are living in a more modern and stabilized civilization, you can’t just stroll in and take over. Because unlike centuries ago, you’re not dealing with swords, but now you have guns and bombs. A move that could actually get quite messy. So now, there all these different meetings that must come into play. And when I say meetings, I don’t just mean within the country; but I also mean the meetings at a much higher level like the United Nations (UN). UN assemblies are to keep everyone in the loop of global changes. And if a whole new country is about to be erected or merged with another country, that is an agreement that must be dealt with by all global powers.

In the end, the main questions still remains. “What will be the next global boundary shift?” I have been hearing about China buying land in different parts of the world. Is this because they are investing in different places, or are they making room to expand their nation? Look at Puerto Rico; will they continue to stay a nation, or will the United States swallow them up entirely? There is so much that could take place. But with the change comes the resistance from so many people. And this resistance could be the start of yet another war whether on that nation’s soil or a global conflict. Whatever the case, people are already established in certain regions, which could prove a problem when trying to carve out new boundaries.

INCENDIARY POLITICS: WHEN THE ACTIONS OF FEW BECOMES THE ACTIONS OF MANY

Image result for democrat and republican

“People just can’t see themselves.”

The dual between parties have been a rivalry for decades. But since Donald Trump took office, now people are fighting more than ever. I spoke in a recent post regarding the shooting of the United States Congressman Steve Scalise. The motive behind the shooting was the shooter’s outrage at the Republican party. But dissatisfaction is not enough to pull a gun and shoot a politician. Yet some of these are the same people who are anti-Trump. Then you have his (Trump) support system which have engaged themselves in similar behavior. So what is it? Don’t people see themselves when they behave in this manner? Don’t people see that in violence your fight is lost.?

You have people want freedom yet, want to restrict what you say. You have those that want tolerance, who themselves have limited tolerance for others. And a lot of the hypocrisy that we engage ourselves in, we don’t see it from our own point of view. To us, the way we behave is completely fine. Because the decision make sense in our minds, so no one sees themselves as irrational. Yet, that is what we have in America today; irrationality. So, what will it take to bring people back to their senses. Because what we’re doing now is proof that not an outsider, but we are our own enemies.

It will take the backing of our leaders to reassure the public that everything will be ok. And that is something I don’t hear too much from Donald Trump. He is quiet, and when he does speak, it’s usually some sophomoric, smug commented directed at the media. But, will this stop people from behaving a certain way. My best guess is no; they’ll not like him no matter what. Nonetheless, the people have conflict with each other in America. Friendships and relationships have ended, even families are on opposite ends of the spectrum. And what’s really sad, is that long after Trump has left the White House, people’s lives will still be fractured.

And still people can’t see themselves. People can’t see themselves so much so that the dominant society’s actions have become more incendiary than the people they fight against. It almost makes Trump and Pence look normal compared to their support and adversaries. In the end, is it all hate, or are most people worried. Worried about their rights, their families rights, or maybe it’s because of the unpredictability of our future and economic situations. People just sit around worrying themselves and living in fear. Fear for a future they had hoped to see which may inevitably boil down to nothing in the end.

MEMORANDUM: WHY WE SHOULD APPRECIATE OUR TROOPS

Related image

“Stand with them, not just for them.”

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, which is the celebration for our men and women who wear the uniform of our armed forces. The men and women who perform a thankless job for protecting this country. Those who are called to war, not because we tell them to do so, but because they feel it is their core belief. And like I said before, a thankless job. Whenever a professional sports team win a championship, there is a celebration in the streets. Yet when our armed forces return home, it’s usually a family member to greet them. We rarely celebrate their coming home, why? Why do we just take it for granted?

When these men and women return home we look at them like, “Oh, that’s what you’re supposed to do for me.” “You’re supposed to want to die for me living in the comforts of my living room.” All the while, they are being shot at in some foreign country they’ve never been to; on terrain they’ve never seen Image result for troops homebefore. But nonetheless, they do their duty and come home. We give them half off on a Memorial Day brunch and say we did our part. But what about a little more. Why not take this time instead to push for programs that will aid in their matriculation back into society? They most likely have spent time, for the ones who fought, shooting and killing. Now they’re supposed to come back home and live a normal life.

How do we expect them to live normal if we don’t assist? Their duty has been to fight, but what is ours? If someone is willing to say, “I am fighting because it’s my duty.” Why not help them out with something? I’m not saying it necessarily has to be of monetary value. I’m talking more of Image result for homeless troopspsychological treatment. Because if their minds are right, then they can earn their own livings and live a normal life. If any candidates are qualified for free health care it should be armed forces who fought in foreign wars. And that help should be mental. Or better yet, someone who lost a limb and is now disabled. They walk the streets, and people stare, not knowing what they sacrificed.

And the other reason why they deserve it is because we spend so much money on foreign aid to other nations. Yet we let the men and women who give their lives fighting for us nothing.  If a hurricane wipes out a village in some foreign land we hold telethons and major events. But none of the like when troops come home from war. So, in the end, we should take care of our own before assisting others. In America unless there is a draft, you have the freedom to join willingly. That shouldn’t mean, you join, it’s your problem. Why do we treat it like it’s a punishment instead of something to commend. It not only should, but must change. Otherwise we lose a piece of our identity as a nation.
