best of both worlds

What happens when you grow up in a biracial household and you are introduced into to different cultures? Well, what usually happens is that you find yourself having to figure out two paths to navigate. And the ultimate reality is that you usually grow up and choose one of the cultures over the other. It is not because you don’t respect the other culture, it’s just that one typically resonates over the other. Something you get that is coming from one usually feels more connected to where you are going in life, or the culture is more symbolic to you. Meaning, if you grow up in a household where one parent is Jewish and the other Hindu, rarely do both hold weight into adulthood. You will be both, but you may choose to practice one over the other is an adult.

wanting to keep it in-house

A lot of people would prefer their children to keep the culture within the realm of their own people. And the reason being because it is too easy to lose the identity of a people. And marrying someone of another culture could easily cause that to happen. Meaning, if I as an African American marry someone Chinese, that child typically will choose one over the other as an adult. And that choice is the defining moment of what will happen to the history of that group from there on out. Because let’s say that kid chooses to marry Chinese, then the connection by the time my grandchild comes along is lost forever to Black people. And from this people tend to b protective of their cultures.

in a shrinking society

What will happen the more America becomes this biracial melting pot that it is becoming? For starters the physical embodiment of the country will change. But another thing that will take hold is the conservative landscape that has made America what it is will start to diminish as well. So the relationships may sound like ti could be better because we are slowly becoming more of one nation. But the problems surmount because new boundaries and alliances could form. So the change could be something that could help the culture of hurt the future.

FUTURE TELEVISION: HOW TELEVISION HAS CHANGED OVER TIME

Woman Sitting on Red-and-green Suede Sofa Facing Well Lighted Room

“Where are we going?”

it sure has changed

From when my mother was a child, to me, to now; television has changed a lot over the past 50 years. When my mother was young she said there only a few channels on television because so much was on the radio. But when I became a child, there were well over 100 hundred, plus the emergence of the internet. But today, there is so much programming that we have to catch everything on our phones or tablets. Now, if you missed your favorite show, who cares, you can watch it on your portable device. And that is the full change of television. Which is why purchasing a T.V. is so cheap today.

where are we going

Image result for augmented reality

Imagine a world where no matter where you go, you put on your glasses, press a button, and out pops the screen. You can literally watch a movie that no one else is seeing but you. Your boring subway commute or that long time spent in a traffic jam won’t be so bad after all. Ok, ok, maybe not driving your car unless you’re a passenger, but you get where I’m going. The ability to stay connected might actually boost the ratings for television shows. Because we think a television is an actually product for watching moving images, but television is a telecommunication medium. That is a very wide range of meanings.

impersonal or more personal

People seem to think that there is a lost of connection the more digital we become. When in reality, we are becoming more connected as a species. Especially if the augmented reality and virtual reality starts to get better and better. We will find ourselves in a type of world that we live out our dreams as an escape from the daily grind. We’re always looking fora distraction from the hardships of life. Augmented reality will become a great medium for entertainment, while virtual reality will become a great place for getting away. Imagine a virtual world of lying on the beach. You can take a vacation to a place you might be able to afford, but can enjoy it.

HOLLY______: WHY YOU DON’T NEED TO GO TO LOS ANGELES TO BE IN THE BUSINESS

“Fame happens anywhere.”

los angeles

For the longest, if you wanted to succeed in the film and television business you needed to go to Los Angeles. If not, you most likely were not going to make it in the business. But now things have changed. Anyone with a computer can host a television show or movie from home.

a new era

Who would have ever thought that having your own channel would be possible. Well, with YouTube you can have just that. Now hosting a television show or posting a film is real. You don’t have to sit in pitch meetings hoping someone buys your project. You can be the executive producer of your own creations.

lost business

What are the downfalls for the people in the entertainment business? Do they now have to host their own platforms to keep up with the changing times? Because young people use to want to fly to Los Angeles in hopes of being discovered. Now they want to be YouTubers. So the bosses in the business have to now scout whereas the ones in the past had talent coming to them. The idea that they now have to hunt after so many years is difficult. But in order to stay relevant they must do so.

boom or bubble

Will all these independents eventually crash or will the business falter? No one really knows because Hollywood could be hurt. Or the company Google could always discontinue YouTube. And the other option which is YouTube becomes a paid subscription forcing a lot of little guys out. Well, in time we’ll see the end results.
