“To think we’re alone is just plain impossible.”

The United States government recently released a video that shows fighter jet pilots chasing what appeared to be a UFO. This was footage held on to for years before it was released late last week. Now for years, skeptics have been wondering if there were materials the government have found in the past. The most famous was the alleged crash landing of a UFO over Roswell, New Mexico back in the late 1940’s. Since then, we have had testimonies from countless people, both civilians and members of the government, giving us their own personal account of UFO sightings and research. But the question still remains, “Why would the government hide the evidence of other lifeforms if the lifeforms are just able to penetrate our atmosphere. Eventually something will happen more revealing that will not allow them to use the term “government testing.”

The main suggestion why they would’n’t release the information is because of religion. That’s right religion on Earth. Religion is very centric to us being the place of life and God creating us in his image. So the introduction of another being that is more sophisticated than ourselves would put a wrench in the whole program. Because it’s easy for us to refute each other, but what happens when the life-form is in your face. Then you can’t deny because that is when the burden of proof is too strong to deny. So, there is some good in trying to keep a secret that we are not alone in our universe. Then again, lets try to make sense of this in a more rational manner. Alien life does not necessarily have to be human-esque. We like to think of aliens as these humanoid creatures with big heads and webbed feet. They might be manning the space craft without anyone or anything inside. Think about that, shooting it down, or it landing and realizing that there is no one inside. Imagine how impressive that would be for a craft to be controlled remotely.

There are still other suggestions which is there are no UFO’s, and that the U.S. government is testing military weaponry and craft that is top secret. Or that there is another country moving in restricted airspace unbeknownst to our government. Which is a move that create even further conflict if our government were to find out. But what I find striking is that no one has managed to attempt to engage. What would happen if we decided to take a shot at the flying object? Would the craft just fly away, or would the craft engage with us? Because if the craft just flew away, you could almost assume that was government testing. But if the craft engaged with us, then you’re talking a serious problem. Because in the end, we as humans have a hard time coping with the idea that we are not alone. We’re so enamored with self, how could there possibly be another better species. But then again, it might be the catalyst we need to come together as a species ourselves. “People have a hard time facing truths.”

With so much that has been going on throughout history, we are unable to make sense of all of it. Especially major events that have reshaped our country. This is where the men and women who are skeptics about the event start to pop up all over the place. They start to develop all these conspiracy theories out of not being able to make sense out of what has happened. And in my lifetime I have witnessed a few events that have gone on to become conspiracy theories. One of them being the September 11th attacks which targeted the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon.

After the evens of 9/11, all types of videos started to pop up. But why is it so hard for people to believe that something like this actually happened? One of the reasons I came up with, is the idea that people were vulnerable. We are made to believe that our nation is the strongest on Earth, yet these few men came in and struck our nation. So it leaves people confused as to why this was allowed to happen. And when no answers are brought forward, or answers that don’t sound too right people start to make a fuss. In reality, we hate to admit that we are left vulnerable and there is nothing you can do about it. That fear is enough to start raising some questions.

But is this the only reason that people believe in conspiracies. Another reason is because of the fact that we don’t believe people are as smart to plan things that we plan. For example, the moon landing for years have been seen as a fake mission. For some reason the conspiracy theorist can’t wrap their minds around the idea that man is smart enough to leave this planet. So the theories start about the mission actually being a film or just a series of fake trick photography. To these people they say things like, “All these hungry people in the world, these few people are smart enough to go to the moon.” “Yet we can’t figure out how to feed ourselves.” But this is a false equivalency, just because there are smart people don’t mean the society is better off. It means those chosen are better; we are better if they choose to help.

One last reason people have the theories they do is because it makes the story more exciting to say there is a conspiracy. The story becomes more mystifying if the situation has conspiracies surrounding it. So the people sit down and concoct an idea of what could have happened. And you will be surprised what you can come up with if you focus hard enough on it. See, in the end, people just need to know there is more to what just happens. We would love to know that we have more information, than we are lead to believe. It’s what makes our lives something in a world where I individual lives mean nothing.

As I sit here, I think to myself how interesting it is to me how much we sit and wait for the return. If you think I’m referring to religion, then no, not the return of God. I’m talking about the aliens on this planet. All my life, I’ve heard about the aliens that are supposedly out there in the universe. Watching and waiting for an opportunity to come to earth. But then I started to think about who the aliens could be. Maybe they are not coming in peace nor wanting to war with earth. Maybe just maybe, they feel we are far too boring to deal with, or they’re far too advanced for us. That’s right, as much as people think we are so special, aliens might feel there is nothing special about us. We build homes, cars, manufacture cars and clothes, build skyscrapers, even put man on the moon. Aliens probably look at us like, “Awww, look at these cute little humans.” “They’re building these little engines for carrying humans.” “Oh look, they even built an aircraft; even reaching space.” Our genius could be seen as something futile to an alien. Or maybe it’s something more humorous than we know.

That’s right, I said humorous, like entertainment. Aliens might look at Earth as cable television with countries as the television networks; meanwhile country’s conflicts are like television shows. For instance, Israel and Palestine is the channel while their conflict serves as a television show. These two groups of people throwing rocks and shooting at each other is like humans watching the discovery channel as Cheetahs chase down Gazelles. To us as people, we see the conflict as serious, but it’s entertainment to them. America is another channel, while our race for President serves as another show. The Presidency could be seen as a new season of television where main character changes every four seasons. Aliens look on and go, “Wow, didn’t see that coming.” “Americans are making some odd selections this season.” “These characters are not as interesting as the past.”

Even our entertainment might serve as entertainment to them. Or it might even be seen as something odd and confusing. Aliens might think to themselves, “What are they doing?” “Sitting in front of a box and watching each other run around with balls and sticks.” Arenas could be seen as just as confusing and odd. “Why are these humans watching other humans run around and put balls in hoops?” Sports, if not odd or confusing, might even be seen as a bit of a dumb activity. Oh, and don’t bring up our science. The Hubble Telescope and other space endeavors might be another confusing aspect of humanity. They could be thinking, “What are they doing with that telescope (assuming they even call it a telescope)?” “Then they go, “Awww, they’re trying to take pictures of the Big Bang.” “Only if they knew, they’re not even 1% close to solving anything.”

In the end, maybe there is someone who will eventually, if not a group of people that will come close to finding extra terrestrial life. This life could be something super intelligent or maybe they’re not that special themselves. Maybe we’ve been seeking other life and the life is already here. Asteroids hit Earth that killed the dinosaurs. Asteroids carry cells made capable of evolving. In that case, maybe we’re the aliens. Maybe we’re the ones from another planet that evolved into what we are today. Well, we won’t know, well at least no time soon.
