MICROMANAGE OFFSPRING: HOW SOCIETY FEELS ABOUT IMPLANTED CHIPS IN CHILDREN

Green Ram Card Collection

“We need to monitor them.”

track your child

As a parent, you want to monitor what your child is doing at all times. That means you have to constantly be on the up and up, especially in these ever changing times. So as time progress, the idea that we could possibly implant chips into our children could be something of the future. This way parents not only can track their child in case of an emergency, they can tell where they are at, at all times. Kids wouldn’t like being tracked, but they don’t understand the hurt a parent feels when that phone call is made that their child is missing. How do you go about this process?

government intervention

For this to be something that could get put into place, you’re talking years and years of fighting lawmakers. Because you have to take into consideration the health effects. But also the rights of the child being chipped. You are their parents, this is obvious, but they are also individuals themselves to a certain age. So if a parent chips their child, at a certain age that kid now has right to know what has been put into their bodies. And if they are not fine with that, it is to be removed. Why, well it’s because a human is not your property even if it is your child. They have the right to know. And also back to the health effects, what, if anything can attributed to the long term implant in your body?

what’s it really built for

Are these chips we’re embracing being used to only track where our children are going? Or will there be other data connected to the child that can be used. Meaning, Facebook has affiliates that advertise to the users when certain keywords are constantly used. Now you are wondering why so much about a certain model car is being marketed to you. It all has to do with what you are typing in that search box on the internet. Could this information also track not only kids movements but their frequented visiting spots for marketers looking to brand to children? This would be a perfect way to turn a profit.

benefits

What are the benefits to being able to chip your child? Well, the upside is that besides tracking their movements, maybe the chip has been connected to figuring out any health problems. Parents would love knowing what is wrong with their child before going to the doctor’s office so the doctor’s job is that much easier.

POLITICAL SHIFT: HOW THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY COULD REIGN SUPREME ACROSS AMERICA

Image result for DEMOCRATS

“The pendulum is starting to swing.”

Since the mayoral and other council races back in November of this year, party lines have already began to show a sign of turning back blue. Some say that people are already getting fed up with the current President Donald J. Trump, and others have stated that these are places can typically swing in either direction: Democrat of Republican. Now, as it comes to no surprise places in Florida and Texas has still kept their political views going strong for the Republican party. But, when you look at the political maps across the country, you can’t help but notice that the pendulum is swinging back in the opposite direction. And what is this due to in America? Could it be that Trump supporters are getting tired of him already, or does it have to do with new voters.

There were three of age at the time Trump was elected President last year who are now 18 years old. Which may very well be the very few voters. Or, there could be the population of people that did not get involved in the general presidential election, who came out to vote. Because remember, in this past election of Donald Trump, nearly half the country didn’t vote for a president. These non-voters could now be getting involved because of their lack of initiative in the national election. And lastly, there are the people who voted Republican, who are now saying they made the wrong decision, and now want to flip sides.

Because if you observe the election percentages, you have Democrats that have won by major percentages. And yes, if you look at the major metropolitan cities, you tend to see a more Democratic win, but these are wins even in small cities and towns. So what has happened that has caused so many Republicans to lose their position in the party? Could it really be that since Trump was elected, he has caused all of the mistrust in the party? This is only his first year in office, and already, confidence could begin to be lost in a party. And with a new generation coming into the voting pool for the year 2020, the Republicans better start seeking out young people and fast. Why, well the millennials and the newly introduced Generation Z will be the majority. Two generations that have become turned off by the Conservatives on the right.

And in the end, that’s the biggest issue, is that a young generation is being shaped by a party. But not just one generation, two back-to-back generations. All the while, being turned off by the other. So if the Republicans don’t start to find ways of reaching out to young voters, then you’ll start to see a close to impossible win by Conservatives in any election whether it be city, state, or national. Because what we have is an aging declining older generation and a growing younger generation shifting to the left.

THE HELP IS LEAVING: WHY UPPER AND UPPER MIDDLE CLASS WHITES MIGHT REALLY DISLIKE TRUMP

Related image

“We used to nurse their young, now we nurse their young; uhhh wait a minute!”

The above photo is from the movie The Help which starred a host of Hollywood elite actresses. In this movie Emma Stone, who is a journalist from the Northeast goes down South and chronicles her time in dealing with a small group of Black women who worked for middle class White families. The movie was based off of a book with the same name. And when you look at the movie, there was a time period where these were the only jobs that Black women could really attain. But when you observe the social landscape of today, so many African American men and women have taken on roles that have matriculated us into the dominant society. Yet when when you look at upper middle and upper class White families who hire help, the face has not changed much.

Sure, you still have older Black women taking on jobs as cooks, cleaners, and nannies to make ends meet, but a new group has taken the reigns. And that new group is the Hispanic population who now work the various roles that we once worked in the past. For example, I live in New York City, and when you see nannies out and about with the children they care after, the faces have made a drastic change. You still see Black women, but more so from other countries: Haiti, Jamaica, and various countries in Africa. Then, you now see the occasional East Asian woman, but the Mexican, Dominican, Puerto Rican, Colombian, and many other Latina/Hispanic females line the sidewalks as they take White children out into the city. And it really goes to show how little have changed throughout time. Well, why haven’t much changed?

A lot of these White families are upper middle and upper class, who are constantly focused on their careers. So with such demanding careers, they are forced to reach out for help. But, you have so many reasons why certain nannies are chosen. The choice is usually older because they have had children and are more experienced with raising children. The women chosen to be nannies are usually less attractive as there has been issues over the years of husbands engaging in sexual misconduct with babysitters. And the women are Black or Hispanic, as these women are usually first to want the job of working for these families. Now, some of these minority women have young children of their own, who are in turn latch key kids because their mothers are caring for the children of some of New York City’s elite.

Now with that said, the title of the topic today is how Trump’s policies on immigration could make these White upper middle and upper class families turn on him. I was reading an article about an hour ago regarding why you don’t ever see the nannies of America’s elite. Well, a lot of these nannies are non-White, and that image could open an entire discussion regarding how little has changed and how the movie The Help is still relevant. But another kept secret is the immigration status of a lot of these nannies. And with Donald Trump’s policy views on Mexico and now Haiti, you could see some major push back from these upper society Americans. Makes you wonder, maybe some of them are funding initiatives against Trump behind closed doors. Because if America starts vetting people at the rate that we currently moving, you could see a lot of Upper East Side and Upper West Side citizens angry in New York City.

See, in the end, this well-off crowd could push back tremendously if Trump continues down his current path. There are just too many people who depend on the people he wants to vet for daily help in their lives. Recently in New York ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) informed an Indian man that he would be forced after 37 years to return to his native India leaving his Cancer stricken wife and two adolescent sons to fend for the themselves. Lawyers intervened and he was given further time stay in America. But was it done because it’s the right thing to do, or is it because once you vet this cab driver how many others are here that shouldn’t be here? Metropolitan New York City is a $1 trillion economy where a host of immigrants work daily. Imagine the impact to not only this city, but to America’s $17 trillion economy when one city of $1 trillion is hit hard. So Trump’s immigration plans as well as his flight regulations on certain Middle Eastern countries will continue to be thwarted until he is out of office and America can return to a status quo.

WORTHLESS WELFARE: WHY IT DOES MORE HARM THAN HELP TO A COMMUNITY

Image result for welfare

“You might make it, but despite and in spite of.”

Growing up in the inner city, I had a lot of people around me who were on welfare. From my mother at one point in time, to the neighbor up the street, friends, family, and everyone else in between. But there is an even bigger issue with the welfare system that is not discussed enough. And no, I am not referring to the tax payers money being drained. I am referring to the systematic failure it has had on the community it serves. People who are raised on welfare state that they have made it despite growing up on welfare. No one thanks welfare for making them successful. It’s always a way to discredit the program that was actually supposed to help poor families.

Well let’s breakdown welfare as a policy in America. When a woman is a single parent and the father is not providing her with assistance, she is now left without help. So she must go to the government and apply for aid in helping her care for her child/children. Yet when looking at the policy from a rational standpoint, shouldn’t welfare be designed to aid families. The policy should be designed to try keeping the family together. Yet, women are given aid for every child she has without the father present.  Even though there are countless women who depend on welfare, it sets a dangerous precedent in America. A precedent, which has actually hurt a community at large.

And that target community is the African American community. You look in the past from the 1960’s into the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s. The number of two parent families have drastically declined, and with that decline, welfare cases have risen, but something else has also risen. The disproportionate number of violent crimes in these predominantly Black areas as well. Because now, without that father present, this mother is taking on the burden of raising children alone. So she is not able to monitor everything alone. Her children, more so her son/s, run the street, getting into trouble. They are caught, placed in juvenile facilities, which are just temporary holding cells until they are sent to state or federal prisons. And that is the domino effect of welfare.

Whenever a policy is designed in giving someone a monetary reward for every child they have without the other person present, it can go downhill. Because now, there is a systematic out that can be used in the form of housing, food, and medical aid, payable by tax payers. The incentive to be self sufficient slowly dissipates, and you begin to raise generations of children who think that someone is supposed to provide them with something. That entitlement creeps into adulthood, and the only hurt is to the child. Almost like how everyone gets a trophy, even if they lost the competition. Now those children become adults who feel their 50% should be someone else’s 100%. And the system of people who pushed it are the first group of people to say go screw yourself when you are down and out.

See, in the end, the policy sounds great. But when you look at the trends over time, it degrades a community. The benevolence is nothing more than poison to the minds of young people growing up on it. Who think that a systems cares about them, when in reality it will stop. And that’s the scary part; it will stop. Eventually it will stop and not slowly, but immediate. So you’re talking communities would now be living in the worst poverty imaginable because what should have been gotten rid of in the past is their demise today.

INCENDIARY POLITICS: WHEN THE ACTIONS OF FEW BECOMES THE ACTIONS OF MANY

Image result for democrat and republican

“People just can’t see themselves.”

The dual between parties have been a rivalry for decades. But since Donald Trump took office, now people are fighting more than ever. I spoke in a recent post regarding the shooting of the United States Congressman Steve Scalise. The motive behind the shooting was the shooter’s outrage at the Republican party. But dissatisfaction is not enough to pull a gun and shoot a politician. Yet some of these are the same people who are anti-Trump. Then you have his (Trump) support system which have engaged themselves in similar behavior. So what is it? Don’t people see themselves when they behave in this manner? Don’t people see that in violence your fight is lost.?

You have people want freedom yet, want to restrict what you say. You have those that want tolerance, who themselves have limited tolerance for others. And a lot of the hypocrisy that we engage ourselves in, we don’t see it from our own point of view. To us, the way we behave is completely fine. Because the decision make sense in our minds, so no one sees themselves as irrational. Yet, that is what we have in America today; irrationality. So, what will it take to bring people back to their senses. Because what we’re doing now is proof that not an outsider, but we are our own enemies.

It will take the backing of our leaders to reassure the public that everything will be ok. And that is something I don’t hear too much from Donald Trump. He is quiet, and when he does speak, it’s usually some sophomoric, smug commented directed at the media. But, will this stop people from behaving a certain way. My best guess is no; they’ll not like him no matter what. Nonetheless, the people have conflict with each other in America. Friendships and relationships have ended, even families are on opposite ends of the spectrum. And what’s really sad, is that long after Trump has left the White House, people’s lives will still be fractured.

And still people can’t see themselves. People can’t see themselves so much so that the dominant society’s actions have become more incendiary than the people they fight against. It almost makes Trump and Pence look normal compared to their support and adversaries. In the end, is it all hate, or are most people worried. Worried about their rights, their families rights, or maybe it’s because of the unpredictability of our future and economic situations. People just sit around worrying themselves and living in fear. Fear for a future they had hoped to see which may inevitably boil down to nothing in the end.

A PEOPLE IN PERIL: HOW WELFARE HURT BLACK PEOPLE IN AMERICA

Image result for american WELFARE

“Do we really need it?”

For the past few decades, the African American community have depended upon the welfare system from the United States government. But this welfare has come at the expense of the taxpayers. Now, don’t get me wrong, population wise, more Whites are on welfare than Black people. But the percentage of our group on welfare is problematic. So the percentages relative to the group is much higher for us. My question is how long will it last? How long will America continue to open its hands to giving and giving. And yet, what is coming of all this giving. How many people actually break away and become successful. Better yet, how many people break out of the grips of the welfare system all-together.

For me, growing up in a single parent household, my mother was temporarily on welfare. The moment she made half decent money she was done. I didn’t understand as a child until I became an adult the problem with the system. To a lot of struggling mothers it’s a way to feed your children. But to me it became a systemic construct that your child could almost never break out of in America. Children born into the a welfare household have higher chances of breaking the law and going to jail. Children born into welfare homes also are more likely to repeat the cycle of their mother. Is it something written in the policy? No, it’s the unwritten implications. The unwritten that has to do with rewards for a father not being present.

To a woman, she’s receiving the money because she need to feed her children. But when you really look at it, it’s a check for a father not being present. So now, we will finance your cost of living, but he can’t be present. Which in reality, just because a man is there, does not mean the family is going to live fine. There are plenty of families where two incomes come into the household and they struggle. So the idea that a man, even though on average make more than women, can justify a family not needing help is ridiculous. Welfare should be based around the family, not having more and more children with a financial payment for every kid you have. Now look what it breeds in the long run.

It breeds a few problems in society. Number one, it creates a lack of accountability on behalf of the man and woman. He says why should I contribute, the government will take care of her. And she goes, I don’t need him, the system will give me a check. And the children grow to see there is this quick route. A route that will eventually run out because in the long term the system cannot sustain welfare. Another problem from welfare is that people depend on the benevolence of an ever changing system. Meaning, Black people have spent more time in America without government assistance than with it. Why are we now operating as if a government cares when it has not used capital to build infrastructure so you won’t need their assistance?

Now, you might say, hey we need it. But do we really? The original Africans were brought to America as indentured servants in the 1610’s. Soon after came the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. Large scale buying and selling of Black people like commodities, coming from Africa to the Americas. Tribes of people who didn’t speak the language of the person to the left or to the right of them. But we made the journey and survived the next few hundred years. We survived another nearly 100 years of Jim Crow South. Back to back to back drug epidemics, poor education with a lack of educational opportunities and rejection from institutions across the country, police brutality, poor access to healthcare facilities, lack of employment opportunities, and discrimination in housing. So to think that welfare, if stopped will be the death of us, is preposterous. We survived all of that, we can beat this as well.

In the end, the problem is the system, not the people. The system says we are helping, but there will come a time it will stop. And it won’t be gradual, but swift and immediate. Then generations will be left destitute from depending on a systematic policy that had no intentions on helping in the first place. We have to be willing to turn away now. Go through the initial bad days, but it will work itself out in the long run. Because sooner or later, the gravy train of checks for your tots will run its course. And if no progress has been made from a community to prepare ourselves, we’ll be worse off than prior generations of overt racial segregation and societal ostracism.

GLORY BE TO CUBA: What Now After Fidel Has Died?

Image result for fidel

“Where do they go from here?”

November 25th 2016, Cuban leader Fidel Castro passed away at the age of 90 in Santa de Cuba Province. He has been out of the spotlight for some time now, passing the reigns over to his brother Raul Castro. Why, well his health has been deteriorating over the years. But that is not what’s important at this point in time. The most important question is, “What do the people of Cuba do moving forward?” Do they continue with the Communist country or do they start cutting deals now that he has passed? I have some views regarding the next move.

My first view is, maybe they should go ahead and open up flight availability to other countries, mainly the United States. Since he was the man standing in the pathway of families visiting long lost relatives, maybe this is good. Maybe this will mean that the longstanding issues that have kept the United States and Cuba at arms length will be mended. What could come of this new relationship? How about a new form of commerce for the Cuban people? How about knocking down yet another Communist system? This was one of the last places on earth that have held on to their political ideology, with exception of North Korea, Laos, Vietnam, and China.

But on the other hand, are there some issues that could actually hurt Cubans. Cubans are a proud group of people. If America comes into the country, there could be a hit to the culture of the country. In China, you have Starbucks coffee houses not too far from ancient sites that are close to the people. Have the franchises moved, no. Why is culture at risk? Because Cubans are not America, so there is no real reason to preserve the culture. Ask Native Americans about all the treaties they signed. Yet look at what they’re dealing with out west at the moment with the building of an oil pipeline. Cubans might wind-up with the short end of the stick.

So what do they do. There are mixed emotions among Cubans: in Miami, there are celebrations, but crying in Cuban for Fidel’s life. How will this effect the relationships between Cubans. Especially if the ones in Cuba feel he was doing good things for them. President Elect, Donald Trump stated that we can open up communication, but only on his terms. That could mean a lot of different things. It could mean, allowing American companies into Cuba to capitalize. Or it could mean allowing the FBI into Cuba to retrieve Americans such as Assata Shakur who was convicted in New Jersey of killing a police officer.

In the end, we don’t know the future of the country. Who knows, Raul might stay leader in the country and continue Fidel’s policies. Or, Raul might make some deals that his brother would not make. All we know is there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the future of the country. I myself would love to go to Cuba; something I wanted to do all my life. Well, hopefully, this will be soon.
